[0:00] the gas tax
[0:01] >> and Republican Senator James I Inhof of
[0:03] Oklahoma, member of the Armed Services
[0:05] Committee.
[0:09] >> Good evening. Welcome to Crossfire. The
[0:11] drum beatat of isolationist criticism
[0:14] continues. National Security Adviser
[0:16] Samuel Burgerer the latest to accuse
[0:18] Republicans in Congress of hiding under
[0:20] a rock when it comes to world
[0:22] leadership.
[0:24] >> There is a very real threat to our
[0:27] authority.
[0:29] It lies in the impulse to withdraw the
[0:31] from the world in a way that would
[0:34] squander our advantages, alienate our

[1:09] senators, two different points of view.
[1:11] Bob, Senator Feinstein, I cannot imagine
[1:14] Henry Kissinger under Richard Nixon,
[1:17] Zimbaby of Pjinski under Jimmy Carter or
[1:20] Coen Powell under uh uh Ronald Reagan
[1:23] delivering a a speech like that, a
[1:25] national security adviser. Don't you
[1:27] think as a responsible senator, and I've
[1:30] always considered you a responsible
[1:31] senator,
[1:32] >> worry about what's coming now,
[1:35] >> that a national security adviser ought
[1:38] to stay away from name calling and
