[0:03] The US government locks the doors to
[0:05] museums and parks. Another shutdown is
[0:07] in effect.
[0:09] NATO greenlights the mission to Bosnia,
[0:11] but go day is fogged out. And gearing up
[0:15] for the presidential vote in Haiti.
[0:17] Democracy on trial.
[0:20] >> From NBC News, this is NBC Nightly News
[0:25] reported by Brian Williams. Substituting
[0:28] tonight is Anne Curry.
[0:31] >> Good evening everybody and welcome.
[0:32] Today, another government shut down.
[0:34] Another day of fingerpointing as the
[0:36] president and the Republicans blame each

[1:12] >> We had tickets to go to the White House
[1:15] this morning for a grand tour that we've
[1:17] been looking forward to and we were
[1:18] turned away. This shutdown affects far
[1:21] fewer Americans than the one in
[1:22] November. But if it extends into Monday,
[1:25] about 280,000 federal workers, about 15%
[1:29] of the government's civilian employees
[1:30] will be furled. Many federal services
[1:33] won't be affected at all this time.
[1:35] Social Security checks and Medicare
[1:37] payments will be issued and offic
