[0:15] the forecast, but the recipe for snow in
[0:18] the city may be missing an ingredient.

[0:23] Thanks for joining us tonight. Even
[0:25] though the temperature is set to drop if
[0:27] there's no precipitation, well, there's
[0:29] no snow. As Natasha Smith reports,
[0:31] that's not keeping people off the slopes
[0:33] or from getting prepared.
[0:38] Lots of people are filling up the car,
[0:40] grabbing the kids, and filling up their
[0:41] inner tubes, and strapping on the
[0:44] boards.
[0:45] All for some weekend fun on the slopes,
[0:48] but the conditions are not great because
[0:50] outdoor fans are finding less of this
[0:53] than this. Still, it's not keeping
[0:55] people off the slopes.
[0:56] >> If you ski in Oregon, you get used to a
[0:58] little rain.
[0:59] >> When you're having fun, you don't notice
[1:00] if you're cold or not.
[1:02] >> But some are packing extra clothes to
[1:04] deal with the downpour.
[1:06] >> Two pairs of everything. Go to lunch.

[1:16] forecasters say the snow level is
[1:19] dropping. They're trying to get the word
[1:20] out to travelers and transportation
[1:23] officials are also gearing up.
[1:28] Road sanders are filling up and heavy
[1:31] equipment is being moved into position.
[1:33] Crews are on roundthe-clock rotations in
[1:35] the foothills and city crews are on
[1:37] standby. Basically, it's just a matter
[1:40] of waiting on mother nature. And when
