[0:47] more bad news about traveling by air and
[0:50] staying powered up on the ground both
[0:52] systems are stretched to the Limit and
[0:55] that's on top of high summer prices at
[0:57] the gasoline pump first about the
[0:59] airlines and their promises to improve
[1:01] service and cut delays cbs's Bob or
[1:04] reports those promises fly in the face
[1:07] of the latest facts 6 months after
[1:10] Airlines promised passengers that air
[1:12] travel would get better it seems to be
[1:14] getting worse complaints and delays are
[1:16] mounted flying for the most part remains
[1:19] a major hassle if they're making a big
[1:22] push on customer service it comes as a
[1:23] surprise to me new numbers obtained by
[1:26] CBS News show that flight delays for the
[1:28] first 5 months of this year were up more
[1:30] than 11% over last year's record setting
[1:33] Pace end up a whopping
[1:35] 76.5% over
[1:37] 1997 last week we were delayed by about
[1:39] an hour and a half they never announced
[1:41] a reason his airline should have
[1:43] provided that information under a pledge
[1:45] made last December to meet customers
