[0:02] Tonight on Wolf Blitzer Reports, the
[0:04] crash of Flight 587.
[0:07] You know, I saw like the engine and the
[0:09] wing, the left side engine and the wing,
[0:10] like it separated from the plane. It you
[0:12] know, still traveling.
[0:14] It still to the left slightly and then
[0:16] it just make a nose dive straight down.
[0:18] Headed to the Dominican Republic from
[0:20] New York's JFK Airport, an American
[0:23] Airlines jet with more than 250 aboard
[0:26] goes down just moments after takeoff.
[0:28] And I saw
[0:30] what very large piece of the plane or
[0:31] the whole plane spiraling downwards and
[0:33] I saw also what an engine spiraling
[0:35] downwards.
[0:37] I saw a very distinct orange explosion
[0:40] and I think I saw part of or
[0:43] the whole wing fall and then the
[0:45] airplane just parked directly down into
[0:49] the into Rockaway where I live.
[0:52] The crash site, a neighborhood which
[0:54] lost dozens of residents, many of them
[0:56] firefighters on September 11th.
[1:00] This time, there's no early indication
[1:02] of terrorism.
[1:03] People should not speculate at this
[1:05] point as to the cause.
[1:07] Uh I don't think we all should jump to
[1:08] conclusions.
[1:09] We'll hear from witnesses, from
[1:11] investigators, and from our reporters on
[1:14] the scene.
[1:16] And as the nation focuses on tragedy at
[1:18] home, we'll go into the war room with
[1:20] the latest on the fighting from northern
[1:22] Afghanistan where anti-Taliban forces
[1:25] claim another major victory.
