[0:00] is being built along Silver Creek in the
[0:02] same spot a 7-year-old boy fell to his
[0:04] death earlier this month. On March 9th,
[0:06] Andrew Sheldrake and his dad were
[0:08] tossing sticks into the creek near the
[0:10] top of the 177 ft falls at Silverfall
[0:13] State Park. Andrew slipped into the
[0:15] creek and his father says he couldn't
[0:16] get to him before he was swept over the
[0:18] South Falls. Park officials say the
[0:20] fence isn't a replacement for personal
[0:22] responsibility, but it will serve as a
[0:24] reminder to hikers of the dangers they
[0:26] could face. Other sections of the parks
[0:28] trail system are being reviewed. If
[0:31] you're planning to use Highway 26 to
[0:33] drive through the Warm Springs Indian
[0:34] Reservation, you'd better plan it out.
[0:36] Starting March 31st, the Oregon
[0:38] Department of Transportation will be
[0:40] replacing the deck of the Mill Creek
[0:42] Bridge. ODOT officials will close the
[0:44] bridge from midnight on Sunday through
[0:46] midnight on Thursday until May 3rd. The
[0:48] bridge will be open to traffic on
[0:50] Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays. Monday
[0:52] through Thursday, traffic will be
[0:53] redirected to Route Three just west of
[0:56] Sacho.
[0:57] >> A new electronic arrival time system is
[0:59] going to make Portland street cars
[1:01] easier to ride. That's the promise
[1:02] tonight from city commissioner Charlie
[1:04] Hails. He says the system involves
[1:06] global positioning devices, satellites,
[1:08] the internet, and electronic signs. The
[1:11] information system is supposed to tell
[1:13] within one minute when the next street
[1:15] car will arrive at your stop. It tracks
[1:17] each car in real time and makes the info
[1:19] available
