[0:51] we'll be looking at verses 13 through

[0:53] 21. we're at the sixth trumpet judgment

[0:56] and so take your bibles out revelation

[0:58] chapter 9 verses 13 through 21.

[1:24] and the sixth angel sounded and i heard

[1:26] a voice from the four horns

[1:28] of the golden altar which is before god

[1:31] saying to the sixth angel which had the

[1:33] trumpet

[1:34] loose the four angels which are bound in

[1:37] the great river

[1:38] euphrates so there's a voice now the

[1:42] voice comes from the four horns of the

[1:44] golden altar

[1:45] which is before god so the voice there

[1:47] is from god

[1:48] the voice tells the angel that has the

[1:50] trumpet to loose the four angels

[1:53] which are bound in the great river

[1:55] euphrates

[1:56] verse 15 and the four angels were loosed

[1:59] which were prepared for an hour

[2:01] and a day and a month and a year

[2:04] for to slay the third part of men

[2:08] and the number of the army of the

[2:09] horsemen were two hundred thousand

[2:11] thousand and i heard the number of them

[2:14] and thus i saw the horses in the vision

[2:17] and then that sat on them having

[2:19] breastplates of fire

[2:21] and of jason than brimstone and the

[2:23] heads of the horses

[2:25] were as the heads of lions out of their

[2:27] mouths

[2:28] issued fire and smoke and brimstone

[2:31] by these three were a third part

[2:35] of men killed by fire and by smoke by

[2:38] the brimstone which

[2:39] issued out of their mouths for their

[2:42] power is in their mouth and in their

[2:43] tails

[2:44] for their tails were like into serpents

[2:46] and had heads

[2:48] and with them they do hurt we're going

[2:51] to pause

[2:51] there and go back to the beginning

[2:55] so last week we dealt with the

[2:59] fifth trumpet and the star the fallen

[3:01] angel that fell

[3:02] from heaven now we've got

[3:05] here four angels that are bound in the

[3:09] great river euphrates now i don't have

[3:11] time it's an interesting study

[3:13] to look at the euphrates river it's from

[3:15] genesis the revelation it talks about

[3:18] the river euphrates

[3:19] all throughout scripture the time frame

[3:21] of genesis to revelation it's always

[3:23] mentioned

[3:24] it's an exciting from the garden of eden

[3:26] all the way until the world is destroyed

[3:28] river euphrates place apart just for

[3:31] your thoughts

[3:32] but these angels are bound in the great

[3:35] river euphrates

[3:36] now some would say are these the same

[3:39] four angels

[3:40] that are mentioned in previous chapters

[3:42] that held back the wind and everything

[3:44] else no it's not

[3:45] they're different angels those angels

[3:47] are holy angels these angels are not now

[3:50] you say preacher how do you know they're

[3:51] not holy angels i'm so glad you asked

[3:54] in the book of jude in the sixth verse

[3:56] it says this and the angels which kept

[3:58] not

[3:58] their first estate but left their own

[4:01] habitation

[4:02] he hath reserved in everlasting chains

[4:04] under darkness

[4:05] under the judgment of the great day now

[4:08] the great day referring to the end of

[4:09] the tribulation period

[4:11] and the battle of armageddon but here

[4:13] and and i should say

[4:14] not really the battle of armageddon but

[4:16] after that the great white throne

[4:18] judgment

[4:19] that's the great day that these are

[4:21] reserved for in the context of jude six

[4:24] but what i wanted to emphasize to you is

[4:27] this fact

[4:28] that god has bound those fallen angels

[4:33] in different parts of the world god has

[4:34] bound those fallen angels

[4:37] for a period of time and here are four

[4:40] of those four of those that are bound

[4:42] in the river euphrates now i know that

[4:45] in

[4:46] revelation i believe it's chapter 16

[4:49] there's an

[4:49] army that comes from across the river

[4:53] euphrates

[4:54] this army that we're talking about here

[4:56] comes out

[4:57] of the river euphrates and so there's

[5:00] two different

[5:01] armies this is not the same and when we

[5:04] get to chapter 16

[5:05] i'll tell you who that army is but this

[5:07] army here

[5:08] is an army of demonic forces that are

[5:11] unleashed upon the earth

[5:13] and we literally could say this way that

[5:16] hell

[5:16] is unleashed upon the earth what it

[5:18] would be like to be in hell so there's

[5:20] these armies these angels are loosed now

[5:23] they're prepared

[5:24] they're prepared for an hour a day a

[5:26] month and a year

[5:28] to slay a third part of men now there's

[5:30] two

[5:31] differing viewpoints on that phraseology

[5:34] here's the two viewpoints one it's a

[5:36] literal 13

[5:37] month and a day span now

[5:40] that's what some people believe they

[5:42] believe these angels will have 13 months

[5:44] and one day to afflict and kill

[5:48] a third part of men that are on the

[5:51] earth

[5:52] that's one interpretation of it i

[5:55] believe the more accurate

[5:57] interpretation of it is that god has a

[6:00] prepared time these angels were bound

[6:04] and god has a plan a specific

[6:07] plan to use these angels to enact his

[6:10] judgment upon the earth

[6:12] and so i believe it to be teaching us

[6:15] that

[6:15] this was prepared for this certain hour

[6:17] this certain time

[6:18] this certain day the certain month of

[6:20] the year that god's specific

[6:22] plan was to use them in this judgment

[6:24] matter

[6:26] now it continues on the number of the

[6:28] army of the horsemen

[6:30] were two hundred thousand thousand and i

[6:34] heard the number of them

[6:35] now guess what there's two differing

[6:37] viewpoints on this

[6:39] one viewpoint is a two hundred thousand

[6:41] thousand is a two hundred million man

[6:43] army that's one viewpoint that people

[6:45] use two hundred million man

[6:47] army the other viewpoint is that it is

[6:50] an expression

[6:52] that it requires an innumerable number

[6:56] now let me give you a reference in the

[6:58] gospels it talks about forgiveness

[7:01] and you're to forgive your brother 70

[7:04] times

[7:05] what seven so does that mean at number

[7:08] 491

[7:09] i don't have to forgive them anymore no

[7:12] it's a

[7:12] numerical expression to talk about an

[7:15] innumerable

[7:16] number and so here in the text i believe

[7:19] it is teaching this

[7:20] that this two hundred thousand thousand

[7:22] is an innumerable army but this army is

[7:25] so large

[7:27] so vast that you hear them coming

[7:31] and also they kill they slay a third

[7:35] part of men now

[7:36] let's rewind back and remember

[7:40] right now here on the earth we're close

[7:42] to about 8 billion

[7:44] people now if we

[7:47] left out and didn't rapture out any of

[7:49] the christians

[7:51] we already know a fourth part of that

[7:53] was killed

[7:54] in the sealed judgments but the fourth

[7:57] rider

[7:58] so a fourth part was already killed so

[8:00] if we had eight

[8:01] and a fourth part was killed we'd be

[8:03] down to six billion

[8:05] now that's not including the christians

[8:07] that are raptured out

[8:08] so we're just using this number the

[8:10] christians by the way are raptured out

[8:13] and so i don't have a definitive number

[8:15] on how many christians there are

[8:17] but we know the approximate population

[8:19] of the earth right now

[8:20] and so we're going to use that and so 6

[8:23] billion

[8:24] left a third of that is taken away

[8:26] that's two so now we're down to four

[8:28] billion people left in other words i

[8:31] could say

[8:32] this to you the easiest way

[8:35] half less than half

[8:40] of the population of the world

[8:44] at this point will either be raptured in

[8:46] heaven as a christian

[8:48] or will be killed during the tribulation

[8:51] period

[8:52] that's a sobering thought half the

[8:55] population of the world

[8:56] today as you know it will be

[9:00] no longer here at this point in the

[9:02] tribulation period

[9:04] and so there's these horses and

[9:08] in the vision these horses now these

[9:10] horses and then that sat on them so

[9:11] there's

[9:12] people there's demons on top of the

[9:15] horses

[9:16] but they're the riders of the horses now

[9:18] listen to what it says the

[9:19] riders of the horse have breastplates of

[9:22] fire and of jason and brimstone so their

[9:24] breastplates are on fire

[9:27] because they're from the fires of hell

[9:30] and

[9:31] it says then the heads of the horses

[9:34] were as the heads of lions so it's a

[9:37] horse-like creature

[9:39] that has the head of a lion

[9:43] and out of their mouth comes fire

[9:46] smoke and brimstone

[9:50] not only that their tails are like

[9:52] serpents

[9:54] and so head of the lion body structure

[9:57] of a horse

[9:59] a tail like a snake and that snake

[10:02] also does people hurt so it's not just a

[10:06] tail that whips back and forth

[10:08] it's a serpent that's attached to this

[10:11] demonic

[10:12] creature so up front is a lion's

[10:15] mouth and the face with fire and

[10:18] brimstone and smoke coming out of it

[10:20] and off of the tail is a serpent a snake

[10:24] that's a pretty scary creature

[10:28] and as we look at it we find that this

[10:31] creature this horse creature it kills a

[10:34] third part of the men but how does it

[10:35] kill them

[10:36] by the fire by the smoke and by the

[10:39] brimstone

[10:40] which are issued out of their mouths so

[10:42] they're killed by the fire the smoke and

[10:44] the brimstone

[10:45] but while they're choking to death

[10:48] the serpent is stinging and biting

[10:53] bringing them hurt how awful

[10:57] the fifth trumpet the sixth trumpet

[11:00] these demonic army creatures

[11:04] being unleashed upon mankind

[11:07] you would think that mankind would fall

[11:09] on their knees and say

[11:11] god i'm sorry god please forgive me i

[11:14] have sinned

[11:15] forgive me of my sins but watch what it

[11:18] says in verse 20

[11:19] and the rest of the men which were not

[11:22] killed by these plagues

[11:24] yet repented not of the works

[11:28] of their hands they did what they wanted

[11:30] to do

[11:31] that they should not worship devils they

[11:33] were involved in i devil worship

[11:36] idols of gold and silver and brass

[11:39] and stone and of wood which neither can

[11:42] see nor hear nor walk

[11:44] not only that neither they repented of

[11:45] their murders when they were murdering

[11:47] the saints of god

[11:49] nor their soul series their witchcraft

[11:52] nor their fornication nor their thefts

[11:56] all of the things involved in wicked

[11:59] sinful living all the judgment that's

[12:02] happening

[12:04] and mankind says nope i'm not

[12:07] surrendering to god

[12:09] i'm not repenting of my sin

[12:12] how awful it will be during this six

[12:15] trumpet judgment a third

[12:19] over 2 billion people if we use the 8

[12:21] billion figure

[12:23] over two billion people killed

[12:27] by this army these creatures not

[12:30] including those that have already been

[12:32] stung by the scorpions

[12:35] it's amazing and sad

[12:40] when you study this section of scripture

[12:43] to realize your neighbor may be there

[12:47] if you've never witnessed to your

[12:49] neighbor and told them about christ they

[12:50] may be there

[12:52] they may have to see these creatures

[12:55] wouldn't it be awful for your neighbor

[12:56] your friend your coworker

[12:58] to have to experience the tribulation

[13:00] period because you never one time took

[13:02] out a gospel tract

[13:03] and gave it to them never once told them

[13:06] about your

[13:07] salvation decision it's a preacher that

[13:10] that's heartbreaking it is

[13:12] people all around us are dying they need

[13:14] the lord

[13:15] and if they don't repent they're gonna

[13:18] perish

[13:20] my friend the trumpet judgments

[13:24] are nearing us to the middle of the

[13:26] tribulation period

[13:28] and the bold judgments or the vile

[13:30] judgments as they're called

[13:31] are getting ready to pour god's

[13:33] undiluted wrath out on mankind during

[13:36] the tribulation period it's about to get

[13:38] worse we've only gone through one woe

[13:40] this is the second part of the second

[13:42] woe

[13:43] it's getting it's getting worse

[13:47] tribulation periods an awful time now

[13:49] the next few chapters we're going to

[13:50] look at

[13:51] are parenthetical chapters they're

[13:53] inserted for us chapters

[13:54] 10 11 and 12 and i'm excited to teach

[13:57] through them and explain them

[13:58] but remember god's plan for

[14:02] us as believers is to evangelize this

[14:04] lost world go

[14:05] into all the world and preach the gospel
