[0:05] and we're in revelation chapter 16 part

[0:09] as we look at verses 13 to 16 today

[0:12] so if you got your bibles dive into

[0:14] revelation chapter 16

[0:16] verses 13 through 16. revelation 16

[0:19] 13 verse 13 says this and i saw

[0:23] three unclean spirits like frogs

[0:26] come out of the mouth of the dragon and

[0:29] out of the mouth of the beast

[0:30] and out of the mouth of the false

[0:32] prophet for they

[0:34] are the spirits of devils working

[0:36] miracles which go forth unto the kings

[0:38] of the earth

[0:39] and of the whole world to gather them to

[0:42] battle of that great day of god almighty

[0:45] behold i come as a thief blessed is he

[0:48] that watcheth and keepeth his garments

[0:51] lest he walk naked and they see his

[0:53] shame and he gathered them together into

[0:56] a place

[0:56] called in the hebrew tongue armageddon

[1:00] so in verse 13 there's this i

[1:03] saw and that's another parenthetical

[1:05] scene

[1:06] of john and so in the middle of these

[1:08] vile judgments

[1:10] there's a i saw here in verse 13. it

[1:13] says i saw three unclean spirits now

[1:16] watch the next two words

[1:17] like frogs that's a metaphor

[1:21] like frogs a metaphor simile so they're

[1:23] not

[1:24] actual frogs that come out but they're

[1:26] like frogs in their

[1:28] descriptory terms of frogs

[1:31] so frogs are an amphibian they're

[1:35] cold-blooded they come out and they

[1:38] croak

[1:39] and they're loud and they're come out of

[1:41] darkness many of them are poisonous

[1:43] and have poison in their skin and

[1:47] they even think back into the old

[1:49] testament times the

[1:51] first plague that god sent upon the

[1:53] nation of

[1:54] egypt was the frogs and so as you think

[1:57] about the frogs here tonight

[1:59] or this morning you have the unclean

[2:01] spirits are like frogs they come out of

[2:03] the mouth of the dragon

[2:05] now the mouth of the beast and out of

[2:06] the mouth of the false prophet

[2:09] and they are verse 14 they

[2:12] are so they're they're not frogs they

[2:15] are

[2:15] spirits of the devil's working

[2:18] miracles so the satanic trinity is

[2:20] represented here

[2:22] from their mouths come forth these three

[2:25] unclean frog-like spirits they're not

[2:27] frogs but they're like frogs

[2:29] they are spirits of demons working

[2:31] miracles going forth to the kings of the

[2:33] whole world

[2:34] seducing them to follow into a battle

[2:37] that will ultimately bring

[2:39] their own destruction perhaps these

[2:42] spirits are described as frog like

[2:44] because they come out of the quagmires

[2:46] of darkness

[2:47] where they're often unseen but where

[2:50] they entrap their victims

[2:52] there where they croak and croak and

[2:56] almost unnoticed by those who could hear

[2:59] them these spirits do the same thing

[3:01] in seducing people into a false security

[3:05] so they go hopping about as i could say

[3:07] all throughout the world

[3:09] gathering people to come against

[3:12] an enemy now in verse 14 they're the

[3:16] spirits they're going to gather

[3:18] them to battle of the great day of god

[3:20] almighty

[3:21] now we're getting ready to see the

[3:23] seventh vile judgment

[3:25] the end judgment that ultimately brings

[3:27] about the final conclusion the battle of

[3:29] armageddon

[3:30] and so this seventh vial is coming soon

[3:33] so we've got this

[3:34] final strife in verse 14 the frog light

[3:37] spirits

[3:38] deceive the world through their miracles

[3:41] and by them bring the kings of the whole

[3:43] world along with their armies to the

[3:45] battleground of megiddo

[3:47] for the faint battle of armageddon now

[3:51] in verse 15 there's a statement here

[3:54] behold

[3:55] i come as a thief now that's not the

[3:58] frogs

[3:59] it's the lord talking here i come as a

[4:03] thief again a

[4:04] a term a descriptive term

[4:07] it's not that jesus is a thief

[4:11] his behavior is as it comes unnoticed

[4:14] it's that he's going to appear on the

[4:17] scene

[4:18] and so he says behold i come as a thief

[4:20] blessed is he

[4:21] that watcheth and keepeth his garments

[4:24] lest he walk naked and

[4:26] they see his shame in the midst of god's

[4:28] judgment there's mercy here is another

[4:31] plea from god

[4:32] there's a pause in the vile judgment

[4:34] activity

[4:36] now the lord is speaking here to a group

[4:39] of people

[4:39] and as you've read the book of

[4:41] revelation you've got to go well who's

[4:42] he talking to

[4:44] well the lord speaking here to converted

[4:46] israel and those that have not been

[4:48] martyred for their faith

[4:49] and he warns them that they should keep

[4:51] themselves undefiled

[4:53] alert to keep their garments let

[4:55] somebody

[4:56] see them walking naked and see their

[4:58] shame

[4:59] so he describes to them blessed is he

[5:02] that watcheth and keepeth his garment so

[5:04] he's talking

[5:05] to those that in israel now that have

[5:07] believed on the messiah

[5:10] now remember you say well how would they

[5:11] believe there's been the two witnesses

[5:13] there's been the 144 000 jewish

[5:15] evangelists

[5:16] that have been preaching the gospel

[5:18] there's been an angel that has delivered

[5:20] a gospel message that's flown about and

[5:22] we've saw that in previous chapters

[5:24] there are those that have believed upon

[5:26] god there are tribulation saints those

[5:29] that have been accepted jesus christ

[5:31] that are gentiles

[5:32] that have accepted jesus christ but have

[5:35] survived and not been martyred for their

[5:37] faith

[5:38] so he's talking to those that are living

[5:40] on the earth during this time

[5:42] that have believed in the messiah so

[5:44] some of them are converted

[5:45] israel those that have believed on jesus

[5:48] that are israel they're hiding in the

[5:50] wilderness the bible describes it

[5:52] then you have those that are the

[5:53] tribulation saints that have not been

[5:55] martyred

[5:56] now if you've studied the book of

[5:58] revelation as we have and you've seen

[6:00] our previous videos

[6:01] you know the world here in this chapter

[6:03] is totally different than the world you

[6:05] and i have today

[6:07] with all the trumpet judgments the vile

[6:09] judgments the sealed judgments that have

[6:12] happened upon the land

[6:13] the earth is drastically different one

[6:16] writer described it as just probably

[6:18] more closely to the 19th

[6:20] century than it is the 21st century

[6:23] maybe even perhaps there are regions

[6:25] that people are hiding in that the

[6:27] antichrist

[6:28] has not been able to get a hold of them

[6:30] and bring them to death

[6:32] but we do know this that in this verse

[6:35] he's talking to those he's encouraging

[6:37] them to

[6:37] remain faithful to god to not

[6:41] be naked in other words to keep their

[6:44] life

[6:44] morally pure not to quit don't give in

[6:47] to satan's tactic

[6:49] don't give in to the antichrist

[6:52] then he says in verse 16 that he

[6:54] gathered them together

[6:55] into a place called in the hebrew tongue

[6:58] armageddon

[6:59] so if you're with us last week we talked

[7:01] about the river euphrates drying up

[7:03] as one of the judgments of god it dries

[7:06] up and this army is going to march

[7:09] through the valley of megiddo into the

[7:11] area there

[7:12] towards jerusalem and there's going to

[7:14] be a battle it's called the battle of

[7:16] armageddon and we're going to talk about

[7:18] it in upcoming videos

[7:20] the destructiveness of that so when

[7:22] jesus here in verse

[7:24] 15 said he's coming as a thief it

[7:26] doesn't make him a thief but he comes

[7:28] like a thief would unexpectedly and

[7:31] undetected

[7:33] now you'll notice in verse 16 and he is

[7:36] referencing

[7:37] god it's not referencing satan now satan

[7:40] thinks he's in control satan thinks

[7:43] during the tribulation period

[7:45] that he's the boss that everything's

[7:47] going to his

[7:48] plan but ultimately god's plan is

[7:51] bigger than satan's plan and god's plan

[7:55] brings about destruction to satan

[7:59] and satan and his demonic forces are

[8:01] trying to bring an army against

[8:03] god but they will not succeed in the

[8:06] end god wins now

[8:09] here in our text it tells us that he the

[8:12] lord gathered them together into the

[8:14] place

[8:15] called the hebrew tongue armageddon so

[8:16] he's bringing them to this place

[8:18] magetto setting up for the final battle

[8:21] now remember as we've talked about in

[8:23] chapter 16 these vile judgments

[8:26] are probably happening in very quick

[8:27] succession we don't know how fast but

[8:30] probably very quick it's not that

[8:32] there's a large gap could be days it

[8:34] could be

[8:35] hours it could be weeks but we know it's

[8:38] happening very very quickly and so

[8:42] i believe it to be days personally that

[8:44] the lord is laying out

[8:46] these vile judgments and it's the last

[8:48] of the last and

[8:50] we know in chapter 16 it's nearing the

[8:52] end

[8:53] and so we're getting ready to go into

[8:55] chapter 17 18 and 19 which

[8:58] will be part of a descriptive uh

[9:00] parenthetical section that'll explain to

[9:03] us a little bit more of what's going on

[9:05] so we're here in chapter 16 in verse 16

[9:08] we see that he's setting up the scene

[9:11] now

[9:12] with what's going on in the world today

[9:14] many have asked pastor what is

[9:15] what is this the end is what's happening

[9:18] and i'm telling people this what is

[9:19] happening in israel and gaza today is

[9:22] setting up for the lord's return

[9:25] jesus could come back at any time now

[9:28] israel is not going to be destroyed

[9:32] during this time israel is going to be

[9:36] restored during the tribulation time and

[9:39] israel's going to be restored to

[9:41] the millennial kingdom prophecy will be

[9:44] fulfilled

[9:45] that jesus christ will return to this

[9:47] earth and he will rule and reign

[9:49] from jerusalem for a thousand years

[9:53] but you and i ought to pray for those in

[9:55] israel

[9:56] we ought to pray for their protection we

[9:58] ought to pray

[9:59] for god's provision we ought to pray but

[10:01] you and i as christians ought to know

[10:03] that jesus is coming very very soon are

[10:06] you prepared to meet him

[10:08] if you're a christian i hope you're

[10:09] right with god today

[10:11] you've got family members that are

[10:12] unsaved you need to share the gospel

[10:14] with them

[10:15] so that they too may come to the

[10:17] knowledge of jesus christ
