[0:54] Now it's the Republican congressional
[0:56] leadership facing political jeopardy
[0:58] from unhappy GOP ranks. But House
[1:01] Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde
[1:03] of Illinois said today that the November
[1:05] surprise dealt to Republicans will not
[1:07] affect Congress's impeach the president
[1:10] inquiry. He said this after Republicans
[1:12] not only failed to achieve expected
[1:14] modest gains in their Congress and
[1:16] governor majorities, they even lost
[1:18] ground. Republicans didn't get a single
[1:21] pickup in the US Senate and they lost
[1:23] about five House seats and one
[1:25] governor's mansion. CBS News chief
