[0:00] Hello everyone, I'm Major Garrett back

[0:01] in Washington. Let me welcome you to the

[0:03] Takeout. You've probably heard the

[0:05] expression, the math ain't mathing.

[0:08] Things don't add up. Or when they do,

[0:10] that math doesn't make sense. Well,

[0:13] today, according to calculations from

[0:15] AAA, the average price of a gallon of

[0:17] gas during the second Trump term is

[0:19] higher, ever so slightly higher than

[0:22] during the Biden presidency. Here are

[0:24] the numbers. We'll show you on a

[0:25] graphic. The Trump average, $347

[0:28] and change per gallon. on the Biden

[0:29] average $347

[0:31] and change per gallon. I know the change

[0:34] part is 100th of a cent. It doesn't

[0:36] amount to much, especially since we

[0:38] don't even make pennies anymore in

[0:39] America. But what matters is these

[0:41] prices are essentially the same. And

[0:43] that's a hardship. Trump did not promise

[0:46] the same gas prices as Biden. Quite the

[0:48] contrary, he promised lower ones.

[0:50] Politically, that math ain't mathing.

[0:53] Here's a variation of that theme. Is the

[0:56] map mathing? That, my friends, is a

[1:00] Senate question for these midterms

[1:02] because the House GOP majority is as

[1:04] good as gone. Republicans in candid

[1:06] moments will privately acknowledge that.

[1:08] So, it's all about the Senate and

[1:11] majority control and how much

[1:13] legislative and investigatory power

[1:15] Democrats might possess when the next

[1:18] Congress convenes. President Trump is in

[1:20] Mississippi tonight for a Senate

[1:23] campaign.

[1:24] Mississippi.

[1:26] The last time Mississippi elected a

[1:28] Democratic senator was 1982. His name

[1:31] John Stennis. He was elected to a

[1:34] seventh term. I was a sophomore
