[19:22] the land of Judah and the cities of

[19:24] Ephraim which ASA his father had taken

[19:27] the Lord was with

[19:29] Jehoshaphat because he walked in the

[19:32] first ways of his father David and

[19:35] sought not unto balum but sought to the

[19:38] Lord God of his father and walked in his

[19:41] Commandments and not after the doings of

[19:44] Israel therefore the Lord established

[19:47] the kingdom in his hand and all Judah

[19:50] brought to Jehoshaphat presence and he

[19:53] had riches and honor in abundance and

[19:57] his heart was lifted up in the ways of

[19:59] the Lord moreover he took away the high

[20:02] places and the Groves out of Judah let's

[20:41] after his father asa's

[20:44] death and he does that which is right in

[20:46] the eyes of the Lord he follows after

[20:50] the way of the Lord in fact as we look

[20:51] in those first verses there it says that

[20:54] the Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he

[20:58] walked walked in the ways of David his

[21:01] father so he's walking in the right

[21:05] path he's doing the right thing the

[21:09] Lord's blessing the kingdom because of

[21:12] that because of a Dem man's desire to

[21:15] walk with God God is blessing a man who

[21:19] chooses to walk with God we could go

[21:21] back in Psalm 1 blessed is the man that

[21:23] walketh not in the Cs of the ungodly nor

[21:25] standeth in the way of Sinners nor sth

[21:27] in the seat of the scornful but his

[21:30] Delight is in the law of the Lord and in

[21:32] his law do he meditate day and night

[21:41] a life where you're doing that which is

[21:44] right in the eyes of the Lord and as

[21:46] chapter 17 continues a Revival comes

[21:50] Jehoshaphat a Revival comes to the land

[21:54] and the people begin to do that which is

[21:56] right in the eyes of the Lord and he

[21:58] even helps teach the people that in

[22:00] verse 10 it says and the fear of the

[22:02] Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the

[22:04] land that were round about Judah so that

[22:07] they made no war against Jehoshaphat so

[22:11] there's the blessing of God they're in a

[22:13] land where there's no war

[22:16] peace God provides peace God provides

[22:20] blessing and Jehosaphat is enjoying all

[22:24] the things that God is doing

[22:28] and God blesses Jehoshaphat he waxs

[22:32] great exceedingly he built in Judah

[22:35] castles and cities of store and God's

[22:38] just pouring out his blessings because

[22:40] God rewards

[22:42] faithfulness God's desire for youit to

[22:44] be faithful to him so jehoshaphat's just

[22:48] faithful to God and he's living a life

[22:51] where he's walking with God and he

[22:53] sought to the Lord his God and the Lord

[22:56] established him his seek of God and his

[22:59] desires for God and the Lord's blessing

[23:02] its path and Revival's coming under the

[23:04] influence of Jehoshaphat the fear of the

[23:07] Lord is falling upon other people other

[23:09] people are noticing what God's doing in

[23:11] jehoshaphat's

[23:13] life and then chapter 18

[23:16] comes in verse number one of chapter 18

[23:19] now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in

[23:24] abundance and he joined Affinity with

[23:27] who

[23:29] Ahab now I don't know about you but I've

[23:33] studied a little bit about Ahab he's not

[23:35] a good

[23:36] person he's a very Wicked King he does

[23:40] that which is evil in the eyes of the

[23:43] Lord he's got a testimony of doing much

[23:46] evil and it the Bible even describes

[23:47] that the woman he married was even the

[23:49] most evil he ever

[23:51] did it's pretty sad testimony to

[23:55] have so verse two and after certain

[23:58] years he went down to Ahab to Samaria

[24:03] and Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him

[24:05] in abundance and for the people that he

[24:08] had with him and persuaded him to go up

[24:11] with him to ramoth

[24:13] Gilead and Ahab the king of Israel said

[24:16] unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah wilst

[24:18] thou go with me to ramoth Gilead now

[24:22] watch jehoshaphat's answer and he

[24:24] answered him I am as Thou Art

[24:29] and my people as thy people and we will

[24:34] be with thee in the

[24:41] war look at the next verse josaphat said

[24:44] un the king of Israel inquire I pray

[24:47] thee at the word of the Lord

[25:38] forbear and they said go up for God will

[25:43] deliver it unto the king's hand so they

[28:11] King understands that the prophet of God

[28:16] is not telling him the

[28:19] truth there's probably some

[28:22] tone in micaiah's voice that

[28:26] indicated he was wasn't

[28:30] serious there was probably some

[28:34] sarcasm in micaiah's

[28:36] voice to get his message to agree with

[28:39] the other 400 guys that immediately Ahab

[28:42] said how many times shall I tell thee a

[28:45] Jer thee that thou say nothing but the

[28:48] truth to me and then he gives him the

[28:51] message you're going to

[28:55] die now you would think that Jehoshaphat

[28:58] upon hearing the message would say uh

[29:00] we're not going to battle with you God

[29:02] is against you we're not going with you

[29:05] but what did they do they went to battle

[29:09] anyway so he goes to battle and in the

[29:13] battle Ahab says now you wear your

[29:16] kingly robes and I'm going to wear

[29:20] disguise

[29:22] now if you're going to battle and you

[29:26] know that if there's one King there who

[29:29] do you think the Army is going to

[29:31] Target it's the one guy dressed as the

[29:35] king so Ahab says to him I'm going to

[29:38] wear a disguise you wear your kingly

[29:42] robes warning Bells red flags

[29:47] Jehoshaphat nope he goes to battle he

[29:51] wears a robes Ahab dresses in the

[29:55] disguise verse 30 chapter 18 now the

[29:58] king of Syria had commanded the

[30:01] certain had commanded the captains of

[30:03] the Chariots that were with him saying

[30:05] fight ye not with the small or great

[30:07] save only with the king of Israel and it

[30:11] came to pass when the captains of the

[30:12] Chariots saw Jehosaphat that they said

[30:15] it is the king of Israel which is Ahab

[30:18] therefore they compassed him about about

[30:21] him to

[30:23] fight but Jehoshaphat cried out and the

[30:28] Lord helped him and God moved them to

[30:32] depart from

[30:37] him now jehoshaphat's got himself in a

[30:42] situation because the choices that he

[30:44] made he's in a battle scene and the

[30:47] captains of the Syrian Army have

[30:48] gathered around him to fight him to put

[30:51] him to death and he cries out and God

[30:54] shows up and God helps him and and God

[30:58] moved the men to depart from

[31:03] him and the rest of the chapter is

[31:06] amazing because the soldier takes a bow

[31:08] and arrow and just pulls it back and

[31:10] lets her fly and and God directs that

[31:12] Arrow right into

[31:18] dies chapter

[31:21] 19 Jehoshaphat the king of Judah

[31:39] went out to meet him and said to the

[31:41] king of Jehoshaphat should us thou help

[31:45] ungodly and love them that hate the Lord

[31:50] therefore is the wrath upon thee from

[31:53] before the Lord nevertheless there are

[31:57] good things found in thee and that thou

[31:59] Hast taken away the Groves out of the

[32:01] land and Hast prepared thine heart to

[32:04] seek God Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem

[32:07] and he went out again through the people

[32:10] from BBA to Mount Ephraim and brought

[32:13] them back unto the Lord God of their

[32:21] fathers Josiah illustrates for us people

[32:25] who are trying to do right trying to

[32:27] live for God God seeking after God if we

[32:30] make a wrong choice there are

[32:31] consequences for

[32:35] it you may cry out to God and God may

[32:38] move in a miraculous way but God's still

[32:41] going to convict and reprove

[32:45] you so Jehoshaphat starts off seeking

[32:48] after

[32:50] God Jehoshaphat is being blessed by the

[32:55] Lord Jehoshaphat is walking in the the

[32:58] ways of David his

[33:00] father and the blessings of God get him

[33:06] comforable and chapter 18 started he's

[33:09] got a lot of Honor he's got a lot of

[33:12] riches and ah have shows

[33:15] up and the first few verses of chapter

[33:18] 18 he doesn't talk to

[33:21] God he makes a decision to go to war now

[33:24] what's been happening chap he's been at

[33:26] peace

[33:28] because of God the fear of the Lord had

[33:30] come upon all those around him and he'd

[33:32] been at

[33:33] peace he didn't have to go to

[33:36] battle he didn't have to fight ramoth

[33:39] Gilead ramoth Gilead had nothing

[33:42] against

[33:44] Jehoshaphat the Syrian Army wasn't

[33:46] looking for him they were looking for

[33:49] Ahab but he put himself in a place that

[33:52] he ought not to

[33:55] be and it almost cost him his

[33:59] life were it not for God's grace and

[34:07] mercy so when we look at Jehosaphat we

[34:10] ought to see

[34:12] ourselves we ought to see people who

[34:15] love the

[34:17] Lord amen you love the Lord we ought to

[34:21] see people who are seeking after God you

[34:23] are seeking him first

[34:25] right we ought to see people who are

[34:27] walk walking in the ways of the

[34:29] lord we ought to see people who have a

[34:32] desire to live for

[34:34] God and we ought to recognize that

[34:38] choices we make in a moment of not

[34:42] considering him can have drastic

[34:46] consequences in our

[34:49] life we are all one moment

[34:53] away from ruining our testimony

[35:00] one moment away one decision away just

[35:04] as

[35:06] Jehosaphat he knew

[35:09] better it reveals to us after he says I

[35:13] wonder if he ever felt I wish I could

[35:16] take those words

[35:18] back because immediately the next verse

[35:20] uh can we inqu did you inquire to God

[35:50] grab the mouse and they put their hand

[35:54] say now Lord before I go look at

[35:56] pornography please guide my steps to the

[36:00] right sight so I can see what I want to

[36:09] about we understand that's

[36:12] foolish because if we prayed that prayer

[38:08] mentioned in the same

[38:10] chapter come on a person who loves God a

[38:14] person who's seeking after God has no

[38:16] business being in the same place with

[38:19] King

[38:21] Ahab but how many times are

[38:24] Christians hanging around and spending

[38:27] time with and participating in sinful

[38:30] behaviors that we ought not to be

[38:31] involved

[38:33] in sinful practices that we ought not to

[38:36] participate in how often do we do that

[38:38] why because we quit inquiring of God

[38:41] whether God's for it or against

[38:43] it now here's another thing we ought to

[38:46] consider in God's word he tells us often

[38:49] what he's

[38:52] against you don't need to ask permission

[38:55] if he already said no

[39:01] if I said to my son son you cannot go

[39:04] outside climb on the roof and pretend to

[39:06] be Superman and jump off you can't do

[39:10] that if he comes to me the next day and

[39:14] says dad today could I go up on the roof

[41:52] order putting your thoughts first and

[41:57] God's plan second and you can ruin a

[42:06] merciful everybody ought to be thankful

[42:10] merciful Bible said describes him as

[42:15] Mercy some of us have taken out way too

[42:18] many loans on God's mercy

[42:24] account he is longsuffering but he also

[42:28] is still a holy God and he will say

[42:33] enough so here we find josaphat God

[42:38] merciful and that's

[42:40] thankfulness no one is too far gone that

[42:43] God cannot restore

[42:45] them no one is too far away that God

[42:48] cannot forgive

[42:50] them so he's merciful and he forgives

[42:54] sinners

[42:57] Jehoshaphat Cried unto the Lord and the

[43:00] Lord heard him and the Lord fought for

[43:03] him and the Lord moved the others away

[43:07] from

[43:10] him so Jehoshaphat illustrates for us

[43:15] that there are times as a follower of

[43:18] Christ that we can move from God's

[43:22] perfect will to God's permissive

[43:25] will and even be out of God's Will and

[43:31] he can bring us back to where he wants

[43:35] us to

[43:37] be be

[43:39] thankful you can't go all the way out

[43:43] and God say I'm through with

[43:46] you his hand can reach where you're at

[43:50] and bring you back

[43:51] in but there's consequences

[44:00] consequences it's kind of like a person

[44:02] who didn't consult God about their

[44:08] marriage they end up getting

[44:13] divorced and

[44:15] they move away from the Lord but the

[44:18] Lord brings them back and they get back

[44:19] and they get right with

[44:23] God but they're

[44:26] Limited on serving God because of

[44:30] decisions that they

[44:31] made now they can still serve God but

[44:35] they are

[44:36] limited in what they can do because of

[44:39] decisions that they make as I mentioned

[44:42] this morning sin it'll take you farther

[44:43] than you want to go it'll keep you

[44:44] longer than you want to stay it'll cost

[44:46] you more than you want to pay and many

[44:50] times it collects

[44:52] interest sin has an

[44:55] effect but God God's hand can reach

[44:58] where you're at but foolish decisions as

[45:02] we talked about this morning can bring

[45:05] us to a point of

[45:10] consequence Jehoshaphat has juu come to

[45:13] confront

[45:16] him and this is what he says to him

[45:19] shouldest

[45:21] thou help the ungodly

[45:28] and love them that hate the

[45:34] Lord

[45:36] ouch that's a message from God to

[45:42] Jehoshaphat God says to

[45:46] Jehosaphat should you help the

[45:49] ungodly and should you love them that

[45:51] hate the

[45:54] Lord ow

[45:59] that's

[46:02] uncomfortable why did God have to ask

[46:04] him that because of the choices that he

[46:07] made even though he made a

[46:10] mistake and saying we're with you we're

[46:13] like you uh did you talk to God

[46:18] today and then he didn't believe ahab's

[46:21] false prophets he wanted a real prophet

[46:23] of

[46:24] God but by the way you know what

[46:26] happened that real Prophet God he got

[46:28] thrown in prison got F the bread of

[46:32] Affliction I don't know how long Micaiah

[46:34] stayed in prison I don't know if when

[46:36] Ahab died they got him

[46:38] out we don't

[46:41] know but Micaiah not caving to the

[46:43] culture and not caving to the world not

[46:46] caving to the pressure to be like

[46:48] everybody else but to speak What God

[49:00] peace you'll notice Jehoshaphat still

[49:05] war even though there was a warning even

[49:10] rebuke he still made the choice to go

[49:16] Ahab I tell my wife

[49:20] often pastoring would be easy if I could

[49:24] make people do right

[49:28] but I

[49:29] can't I cannot make people do

[49:33] right I can preach till I'm read in the

[49:36] face I can counsel I can encourage I can

[49:39] show them scriptures I can point them in

[49:41] every direction that God would intend

[49:43] for them to go at the end of the day

[49:46] people choose to do right or to do

[49:50] wrong there are consequences for the

[49:53] choices you make

[50:00] I cannot make you

[50:05] do God will not make you do right he

[50:10] gave you free will to choose to do right

[50:15] but if you continue to do wrong there

[50:17] will be

[50:20] consequences it is your choice to do

[50:24] right or to do wrong

[50:28] but the choices that you make will have

[50:33] consequences and sometimes

[50:37] Eternal

[50:41] consequences you will not lose your

[50:45] salvation but you could miss out on a

[50:48] lot of rewards in heaven to give back to

[50:52] your savior by choices that you make

[50:58] let us

[51:00] not be like Jehosaphat and make a

[51:03] decision before we talk to the

[51:09] Lord it was a life altering decision to

[51:14] enter into battle with

[51:16] Ahab it affected other

[51:19] people for Jehoshaphat to make that

[51:24] decision it could have life life

[51:27] altering consequences for him and for

[51:34] others and yet he still did not inquire

[51:38] of the Lord before he said we're with

[51:46] you how did he get to that

[51:50] place how did Jehoshaphat get to a

[51:54] place that he didn't even in of

[51:58] God it becomes easy when God's

[52:02] blessing to get use to the blessings and

[52:06] forget who is the

[52:09] blesser who's the one giving the

[52:13] blessings and we can think I deserve it

[52:17] I've earned it and therefore get

[52:22] comfortable and settled

[52:25] in and

[52:27] think not of God but of

[52:33] ourselves caution

[52:36] tonight if Jehoshaphat can do it you and

[52:41] I can

[52:43] do you and I can be at a place in our

[52:46] life where we're seeking after God doing

[52:48] what God wants enjoying the blessings of

[52:50] God and the next thing we know we're

[52:52] fellowshipping with ungodly

[52:54] people we're making

[52:57] decisions we're acting in a way that's

[53:01] contrary to what God would want us to

[53:05] act and we think well God's

[53:09] merciful he is there are

[53:14] consequences the actions and choices

[53:16] that we

[53:19] made

[53:21] caution from the life

[53:25] Jehoshaphat caution

[53:28] every day inquire of

[53:31] God he's ordered your steps talk to him

[53:36] about would you bow your heads and close

[53:38] your eyes

[53:42] tonight if Jehoshaphat can do

[53:45] it we could do

[53:49] it I think of Jonah chapter 4 when God

[53:52] said to him doest thou well to be

[53:55] angry the obvious answer is

[53:58] no doest thou well to look at that

[54:01] pornography website no God doesn't

[54:04] approve it doest thou well to have

[54:07] bitterness in your heart no doest thou

[54:10] well to step outside your marriage no

[54:14] doest thou well to have anger and

[54:17] frustration in your heart and not get it

[54:19] right no do thou up no so why do you

[54:23] keep doing

[54:24] it let go stop it inquire of the Lord

[54:30] there are consequences to the choices

[54:32] that we make dear heavenly father I pray

[54:35] tonight for your will to be done during

[54:37] this imitation

[54:41] Time Lord if a man named Jehoshaphat who

[54:44] brought Revival to the land who sought

[54:46] after the

[54:48] Lord can make a choice in a

[54:53] moment that ruined a testimony

[54:58] that caused harm to the name of

[55:02] Christ Lord it could be said of

[55:05] us just the

[55:08] same Lord I pray you'd help us

[55:11] to examine our

[55:14] hearts get right where we need to get

[55:17] right and inquire of you for the next

[55:20] steps we need to take in your name I
