[1:02] like the US Auto industry will get a
[1:04] life preserver from taxpayers but it
[1:06] won't be nearly as big as the carmakers
[1:08] wanted and here's one reason a CBS News
[1:11] poll out tonight shows the public deeply
[1:13] divided over helping the big three that
[1:15] same poll though tells us why GM Ford
[1:18] and Chrysler need a government loan
[1:20] nearly a third of Americans are less
[1:22] likely to buy their cars while they're
[1:24] in financial trouble Cheryl aison has
[1:27] the latest today on Capital Hill
[1:30] lawmakers were trying to do something
[1:32] Congress doesn't usually do very well
[1:34] move at lightning speed to negotiate the
[1:36] fine points of a complex plan one to
[1:39] shore up the Auto industry for at least
[1:41] the next few weeks as the clock ticks
[1:43] toward bank
