[0:46] war plananes are targeting eastern
[0:47] Afghanistan this weekend. One region
[0:49] filled with tunnels and caves has been
[0:51] targeted now repeatedly over the last
[0:53] few days. Meanwhile, US soldiers
[0:55] remember their fallen comrades who died
[0:57] in this week's plane crash. Gary Bower
[0:59] has more.
[1:00] >> Strikes continue in eastern Afghanistan.
[1:03] Allied bombers led by USB-52s pounded al
[1:06] Qaeda facilities all day and into the
[1:08] night. Laserg guided bombs were
[1:10] reportedly being used on targets near
[1:12] the city of Coast. Friday's air strikes
[1:15] were aimed at tunnel complexes and above
[1:17] ground camps in the same area. While the
[1:20] White House says progress is being made
[1:22] in Afghanistan, it maintains there's
[1:24] much more to be done.
[1:25] >> It's a long-term challenge. It's one
[1:27] that uh this president, this
[1:28] administration is uh keenly focused on.
[1:31] >> 30 more war detainees arrived at the
[1:33] Kandahar detention facility Saturday.
