[1:04] >> As a franchisee, I tell [music] people

[1:06] we're not just in the automotive

[1:07] maintenance business. We're in the

[1:09] customer service business. And with so

[1:10] many of my customers coming back time

[1:12] and time again, I think that speaks for

[1:14] itself.

[1:15] >> Amazing customer service. Experience it

[1:17] yourself at Jify Live today. One of

[1:20] these letters is dangerous because it's

[1:22] the governmentmandated notice of a

[1:23] teen's pregnancy being delivered to an

[1:25] abusive parent. Measure 43 sets up an

[1:29] automatic required notification to

[1:31] parents with [music] no exceptions for

[1:32] rape or even incest. It puts at risk

[1:35] teens in greater danger. No counseling,

[1:38] [music]

[1:38] no protection, just an impersonal and

[1:41] dangerous letter sent in the mail.

[1:43] Measure 43. It's not so simple [music]

[1:46] and it's definitely not safe.

[3:18] ever.

[3:29] And that is just a preview of what you

[3:31] will see in the edge, beginning with

[3:32] news that's caught on camera tonight.

[3:34] Take a look. This isn't a war zone. It's

[3:36] actually a wildfire that's burning in

[3:38] the Los Angeles suburb of Rialto. Strong

[3:40] Santa Ana winds fueled the flames, which

[3:42] burned 640 acres at its peak and

[3:44] threatened to spread to a housing

[3:46] development. That tonight, that fire is

[3:48] contained, but investigators still don't

[3:49] know what sparked it. Crews are keeping

[3:50] an eye on that fire to make sure that it

[3:52] doesn't flare up overnight. Check this

[3:54] out. A three alarm fire at one of

[3:55] Florida's oldest tourist attractions got

[3:58] firefighters out of bed early this

[3:59] morning. That blaze broke out around 100

[4:02] a.m. at the Gatorland Park. The flames

[4:04] destroyed the gift shop entrance and

[4:06] ticket booth and also killed four

[4:07] animals there. The park is home to

[4:09] thousands of animals. It opened back in

[4:10] 1949 and attracts nearly half a million

[4:13] people a day. We're told that park

[4:15] should reopen in a few weeks. And talk

[4:17] about a tri traffic nightmare. A tanker

[4:19] truck burst into flames during rush hour

[4:21] in Miami today, bringing the commute to

[4:24] a standstill. Crews had to use foam to

[4:26] put out the flames and use water on a

[4:28] nearby church that caught fire in the

[4:30] aftermath. The good news is no one was

[4:32] hurt. Now in the edges it's time to

[4:34] check the most popular stories on the

[4:36] web at 11. These are the stories that

[4:38] are getting the most hits on kpv.com.

[4:40] Locally, a Portland man is behind bars

[4:43] accused of killing two men whose bodies

[4:44] were dumped in a driveway off Highway 26

[4:47] near Banks. Neighbors found the bodies

[4:49] yesterday, then cops closed in on

[4:51] 62-year-old Frank Hudson. Police aren't

[4:53] saying much about a motive or the

[4:55] murders. Another local story is also

[4:58] getting a lot of hits on our website.

[5:01] Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man

[5:03] who attacked and stabbed another man

[5:04] yesterday in an Aloa apartment complex.

[5:06] The victim had to go to Emanuel

[5:08] hospital. He had several stab wounds to

[5:10] his chest. Deputies searched the area

[5:12] near Southwest Heritage Court in Aloa,

[5:14] but could not find the attacker. And the

[5:16] most irresistible story on KPTV.com

[5:19] tonight comes out of North Carolina.

[5:21] Take a look at this. That is where

[5:22] students have to get an escort to go to

[5:24] the bathroom or the cafeteria.

[5:26] Administrators started pulling student

[5:28] privileges after someone set three

[5:29] bathroom garbage cans on fire and pulled

[5:32] fire alarms. Some students are

[5:34] protesting. They're walking around the

[5:35] school with homemade t-shirts with fake

[5:37] prison numbers on them. Teachers don't

[5:39] like being hall monitors, but they say

[5:40] they don't have a choice. And be sure to

[5:43] stop by kpv.com for more on these

[5:45] stories and all the news and weather

[5:46] information you need to get through the

[5:48] day.

[5:48] >> Now, the question, what do you need to

[5:50] know before you go to sleep tonight?

[5:51] Well, the answers are on the edge. Your

[5:53] kids will get wet again at the bus stop

[5:55] tomorrow morning, but it will probably

[5:56] be drier on their way home. And you can

[5:59] expect another nasty commute in the

[6:00] morning, but it will be warm. Be sure to

[6:02] get the latest from Andy Carson and Drew

[6:03] Jackson tomorrow on Good Day Oregon. And

[6:05] you can find our live radar streaming on

[6:07] our website, kptv.com.

[6:09] What else do you need to know? Well, you

[6:10] might want to skip the white bread when

[6:12] you're making lunches for tomorrow.

[6:13] Italian researchers have found that

[6:15] eating lots of white bread raises the

[6:17] risk of kidney cancer. People who eat

[6:19] five slices of white bread a day are

[6:22] almost twice as likely to get kidney

[6:23] cancer as those who only eat a slice and

[6:26] a half. Experts say the study also adds

[6:28] to the theory that you should eat more

[6:30] whole grains, which release sugar more

[6:32] slowly into your bloodstream. And you

[6:35] need to know about a new plan to snap a

[6:37] picture of you when you're in the

[6:38] drive-thru. Wendy's, Burger King, and

[6:40] McDonald's are all testing new

[6:42] technology at a handful of locations

[6:44] that will take your picture when you

[6:46] place your order to reduce order mixups.

[6:48] they say and long lines. The system

[6:50] called Order Perfect is aimed at

[6:52] matching you to your order, although

[6:54] some consumer advocates call it an

[6:56] invasion of privacy.

[7:00] >> Hollywood is buzzing about Christy

[7:01] Alli's new body. She showed it off on

[7:03] Oprah today in a bikini. Take a look at

[7:06] the 55-year-old actress last year. At

[7:08] her biggest, she weighed 220 lbs. And

[7:11] take a look at her today on the Oprah

[7:13] show, 75 lbs lighter and in a bikini.

[7:16] She says she did it on Jenny Craig.

[7:18] She's now become the company's

[7:19] spokeswoman and also by working out and

[7:21] quitting smoking. Fans of soulful singer

[7:24] Norah Jones will be happy to hear she's

[7:26] coming out with a new album. Not too

[7:28] late. Goes on sale in January. And for

[7:30] the first time, she has done most of the

[7:32] songwriting. Jones won eight Grammys by

[7:34] 2004, including best female pop

[7:37] vocalist. Finally, you can hang out at

[7:39] the Peach Pit again thanks to the magic

[7:41] of DVD. The first season of Fox's 90s

[7:43] hit Beverly Hills 90210 goes on sale

[7:46] tomorrow. You can relive all the

[7:48] excitement of Brandon and Brenda Walsh's

[7:50] first year at West Beverly High.

[7:51] Remember that the DVD has been in the

[7:53] works since the show went off the air in

[7:54] 2000, but the actors aren't really

[7:56] thrilled because they won't get a dime

[7:59] of profits from the sale of the DVD.

[8:01] They are negotiating that point for the

[8:03] next nine seasons.

[8:04] >> I don't remember that show. I think I'm

[8:06] too young to remember that one. Hey,

[8:08] we're going to take you to the edge now

[8:09] with a look at tonight's what we like to

[8:10] call viral video. By definition, it's a

[8:13] video clip that gains widespread

[8:15] popularity through internet sharing like

[8:18] email or instant messenger. Well,

[8:20] tonight, according to viral

[8:21] videochart.com,

[8:23] it's the gummy bear dance. Take a look.

[8:30] >> [music]

[8:34] >> They're downloading this Shauna by the

[8:36] millions.

[8:37] >> Oh boy.

[8:38] >> Yeah,

[8:38] >> I can see why.

[8:39] >> Yeah, pretty entertaining, huh? Hey,

[8:41] join us tomorrow. You never know what

[8:42] you're going to see top the charts. And

[8:44] remember, you saw it all right here

[8:46] tonight on the edge.

[8:49] >> I'm Tim Becker. Ahead in sports,

[8:51] highlights of the Blazers looking to go

[8:53] 3 and one on the road at the LA Clippers

[8:56] and the Seahawks sack attack alive and

[8:58] well against the Raiders when we come

[8:59] back.

[9:00] >> You're watching the 11:00 news first

[9:03] live local.

[9:07] >> Yeah,

[9:12] >> I see. Yeah, great.

[9:15] >> Well, she wants a KFC famous bowl. You

[9:17] know, layers of her favorites. Mashed

[9:20] potatoes, corn, chicken, gravy, and

[9:21] cheese all in a bowl.

[9:23] >> Try new KFC famous bowls. Freshly

[9:25] prepared with our homestyle mashed

[9:26] potatoes, layered with sweet corn, all

[9:28] white meat, crispy chicken, and topped

[9:30] with our signature gravy and three

[9:31] cheese blend. Dig into great layers of

[9:34] flavor with KFC famous bowls.

[9:46] [music]

[9:57] At Lace, I repair vehicles back to

[9:59] pre-loss condition with factory parts

[10:01] and a lifetime warranty without charging

[10:03] you extra. That's my promise.

[10:06] >> Here's what respected Oregon newspapers

[10:08] say about Measure 42 to ban the use of

[10:11] credit information in insurance. [music]

[10:12] The McMento News Register says Measure

[10:15] 42 is a bad idea that will raise

[10:17] insurance [music] rates for people with

[10:18] good credit to subsidize others.

[10:20] >> The Eugene Register Guard says 42 is

[10:22] poorly written and full of unintended

[10:24] consequences.

[10:25] >> The Hillsboro Argus warns that premiums

[10:27] could go up for the 60 to 70% of

[10:29] Oregonians with good credit.

[10:31] >> The Ben Bulletin says, "We don't want to

[10:33] pay more for [music] insurance." No on

[10:35] 42.

[10:36] >> Fox 12 is helping you fight ID theft.

[10:38] Join us for a shredding event this

[10:40] Friday from 5:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the

[10:41] Barnes & Noble parking lot at Washington

[10:43] Square 2. That's at the Greenberg Road

[10:44] exit in Tiger.

[10:48] [music]

[10:53] [music]

[10:57] [music]

[11:02] >> [music and singing]

[11:07] [music]

[11:09] >> Providence Health Plan together. Health

[11:12] plans for individuals, families,

[11:13] employer groups, and people with

[11:15] Medicare.

[11:16] >> Unwrap the body you've always wanted for

[11:18] [music] Christmas with the holiday

[11:19] makeover from LA Weight Loss. T the

[11:21] season for losing. Get the body you

[11:23] always wanted just in time for the

[11:25] holidays. 4 weeks, 14 lbs gone. In just

[11:30] 5 weeks, you could lose up to 20 pounds.

[11:32] I did it. LA gave me back my confidence.

[11:37] >> Take it off for the holidays with the

[11:39] holiday makeover from LA Weight Los for

[11:41] the center nearest you. Call 1866595.

[11:45] Trim.

[11:46] >> The five simple tips to raising a

[11:48] grateful child.

[11:49] >> Get more tomorrow morning at 9:00.

[11:51] >> All I want is my TV, internet, and phone

[11:54] from one company. All my calls, my

[11:57] internet, and even my TV for around a h

[11:59] 100red bucks. That's what I want.

[12:01] >> All I want is to be free of cable.

[12:04] >> At Verizon, we've got what you want.

[12:06] Phone service you can count on.

[12:07] Highspeed internet, and now even TV. All

[12:10] on one bill for around $100 a month. So,

[12:12] there's no reason to be stuck with cable

[12:13] anymore.

[12:14] >> All I want is something better.

[12:16] >> Phone, broadband, TV. Verizon.

[12:26] Welcome back. The Seahawks return to the

[12:28] Monday night stage tonight where backup

[12:31] quarterback Senica Wallace picks up his

[12:33] first NFL win. Has some great receivers.

[12:35] Deion Branch no trouble grabbing

[12:37] grabbing a slippery old fish. So, he

[12:39] better hang on to another football game.

[12:41] First quarter, Wallace finding Branch in

[12:43] the end zone for the 22-y TD and a seven

[12:46] nothing lead. And that would be enough

[12:48] because the defense was stellar. We're

[12:49] talking seven sacks in the first half.

[12:52] Craig Terrell had three of them and they

[12:54] held the Raiders to 185 total yards of

[12:57] offense. The Raider D, I think they were

[12:59] a bit frustrated. Tyler Brighten with

[13:00] the strategic knee to Jeremy Stevens.

[13:03] Brighton ejected for that move. Seahawks

[13:05] shut out the Raiders 16- nothing. First

[13:07] time in five games the defense has given

[13:09] up fewer than 28 points.

[13:12] >> Our defense played well. They gave us a

[13:14] lot of opportunities. Uh the defense got

[13:16] nine sacks as you said and you know

[13:18] everybody just played well today. You

[13:19] know, everybody had their agame and uh,

[13:21] you know, it was Monday night. Great

[13:22] atmosphere and the defense came out and

[13:24] played well today.

[13:25] >> Tell you what, Zack Randolph played

[13:27] well, turned in some huge numbers

[13:28] tonight in LA, but was it enough to nip

[13:30] the Clippers down there to LA we go

[13:32] where Eay Udoka had the team's other

[13:35] double double, hits an early three,

[13:36] finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

[13:39] Jared Jack would put up 10 of his 16 in

[13:41] the first half. Hits the drive there.

[13:43] Randolph had 16 in the half. The

[13:45] baseline jumper giving the Blazers a

[13:47] four-point lead. But right before

[13:49] halftime, Shawn Livingston the rebound

[13:51] and the putback in a sea of Blazers.

[13:53] Clippers led by six at the break. And

[13:55] then fourth quarter, it was a one-sided

[13:56] deal. Cory Mcetti the steal and the

[13:59] slam. Opens an 18-point lead. Clippers

[14:01] win 10289. In spite of a game high 35

[14:05] and 13 rebounds from Mr. Randolph. Word

[14:07] from UFO tonight that junior Kristen

[14:09] Forestall has left the women's program

[14:11] there, the Hoop program. The former

[14:13] Oregon City star cites irreconcilable

[14:15] differences between herself and head

[14:16] coach Bev Smith. Hey, a bit of a snub

[14:19] for the UP women's soccer team today.

[14:21] The defending national champs learning

[14:23] this afternoon that they are not one of

[14:25] the top 16 seeds in the postseason

[14:27] tournament. Instead, they travel to Utah

[14:29] to play BYU Thursday night.

[14:32] >> You know, for us not to be a top 16 team

[14:34] is a little bit of a surprise, but at

[14:36] the same time, I don't think it really

[14:37] matters at this point. You just got to

[14:38] go out and win games. because I know

[14:39] with this team, no matter who we play,

[14:40] where we play them, we're going to be

[14:42] fine and we're gonna get the wins that

[14:43] we need.

[14:45] >> And that's the correct spirit right

[14:46] there. Game time, by the way, Thursday

[14:48] night, 6 pm.

[14:49] >> Both teams do.

[14:50] >> Yeah, I think Oh, absolutely. Why not?

[14:52] They lost Megan Rapino, but they've got

[14:53] a lot of other talent. They're going to

[14:54] do they're going to do terrific.

[14:55] >> All right, thanks.

[14:56] >> All right. And the rain continues

[14:58] through the night.

[14:58] >> Commute. I think it's going to be real

[14:59] messy. I think the steady rain will

[15:01] continue until morning, then things die

[15:02] down in the afternoon. After that, it'll

[15:04] be all snow in the mountains, so we

[15:05] won't have have to worry about snow melt

[15:07] and it'll feel feel more like a normal

[15:10] November weather.

[15:11] >> Well, try to stay dry out there. Yeah.

[15:12] >> Don't forget, you can get the latest

[15:13] update news, weather, and traffic

[15:14] tomorrow on Good Day Oregon from 5 to

[15:16] 10.

[15:17] >> We'll be back tomorrow. Don't forget

[15:18] time-lapse video of the building of our

[15:19] new set on ktv.com. Good night.

[15:21] >> Good night.

[15:25] >> With local elections now here,

[15:27] >> you need a local station

[15:28] >> that'll [music] cover the important

[15:29] issues

[15:30] >> and statewide candidate. Only one

[15:31] station will have the most coverage on

[15:33] election night.

[15:34] >> Fox 12 Oregon from the first ballot

[15:36] counted

[15:36] >> to the last acceptance [music] speech.

[15:38] >> There's only one place with wall-to-wall

[15:40] coverage on election night.

[15:41] >> Coverage starts Tuesday night at 8 on

[15:43] Fox 12 Oregon. First, [music] live

[15:45] local. Every car dealer writes ads to

[15:47] make you think they're the best. We do

[15:48] it, too. The difference is that at

[15:50] Broadway Toyota, we talk the talk and we

[15:52] walk the walk. And that's why little old

[15:54] Broadway Toyota at the Rose Quarter

[15:55] consistently sells more Toyotas than the

[15:57] mega dealers do. proving that if you

[15:59] really do have the best prices every day

[16:01] and if you really do treat every

[16:03] customer like they're the only one on

[16:04] your lot, the word gets around. So,

[16:06] Portland, if you're even thinking about

[16:08] buying a Toyota, Broadway is the only

[16:11] way. Just get off at the I5 Rose Quarter

[16:13] exit and head two blocks east.

[16:16] Oregon's waited a long time for results

[16:18] from Ted Kulangski. But Ted's [music]

[16:21] time is up. Newspapers call Kulangoski a

[16:24] no-show governor who has [music] not

[16:26] stepped up to lead. Ron Saxton will

[16:29] change Oregon with education reform,

[16:31] more money into classrooms, a focus on

[16:33] results. He'll hold the line on taxes,

[16:35] cut waste, control spending, with

[16:38] leadership, not partisanship. Kolangoski

[16:40] won't make the changes Oregon needs. But

[16:43] you can. Ron Saxton for governor.

[16:46] >> Wake up to an entire year of savings

[16:49] with Comcast. For just $33 a month, get

[16:52] America's number one highspeed internet
