[0:00] With exactly two weeks to go until
[0:01] election day tonight, President Trump is
[0:03] set to campaign in Battleground, North
[0:05] Carolina. Now, the president traveled to
[0:06] Kansas yesterday to rally with Senator
[0:08] Roger Marshall. He praised the
[0:10] Republican incumbent while tying
[0:11] Democrats to the protests unfolding
[0:13] across France.
[0:16] >> When you see burning steeples and raging
[0:18] fires in France, just remember that is
[0:21] what the radical Democrats want to do to
[0:23] America. They expect to do it. They're
[0:25] not going to come close. Senator Roger
[0:28] Marshall and the great people of Kansas
[0:31] will not let them plunder our nation's
[0:34] wealth or demolish what our ancestors
[0:37] built with their own sweat, blood,
[0:39] tears, and skill.
[0:42] >> Let's bring in CBS News political

[0:46] you think the strategy here is to link
[0:48] Democrats to what's going on in France?
[0:50] Would voters vive that? Kelly, what I
[0:53] think is happening here is I think it's
[0:55] it's about it's a tactic to motivate
[0:57] Republicanbased voters uh by really
[0:59] focusing on that sort of law and order
[1:02] message that he has been talking about
[1:04] throughout his presidential campaigns.
[1:06] Uh but it's really really a tactic so to
[1:09] use those images coming out of France uh
[1:11] to warn his base uh what he says could
[1:14] happen if Democrats take control of
[1:16] Congress. uh and and and the protests as
[1:19] you know um uh Kelly have in France have
[1:21] largely been driven by economic
[1:23] frustrations uh especially the rising
[1:25] cost of living. Um so that's something
[1:28] that sort of uh has connected u uh
