[0:53] >> Good evening everyone. When the sex

[0:55] abuse scandal involving priests first

[0:57] made headlines, Catholics in this

[0:59] country, and that's nearly one out of

[1:01] four adults, were horrified, trusted

[1:04] members of the clergy abusing children.

[1:06] Church leaders covering it up. It was a

[1:09] betrayal, a breach of faith, and it

[1:11] would cost American churches nearly $3

[1:13] billion in legal settlements. Many

[1:16] Catholics demanded to know how it all

[1:17] happened. Today, an answer came in a

[1:19] report commissioned by America's

[1:21] Catholic bishops. But Ela Kihano reports

[1:24] it was not the answer many of the

[1:26] victims were hoping for. For survivors

[1:29] of clergy sexual abuse, today marks

[1:32] another deep disappointment.

[1:33] >> These are the the bishops who lied to us

[1:35] about transferring priests. These are

[1:37] the same bishops who continue to lie to

[1:38] us.
