[0:03] so good to see you this morning

[0:04] and thankful that you were able to tune

[0:06] in today to our word of encouragement

[0:08] excited about what the Lord has in store

[0:11] for us today

[0:12] so our verse passage today is out of

[0:14] Psalm 51 the first 10 verses today and

[0:17] so we're gonna look at that this morning

[0:19] and so we're gonna try this out today

[0:21] and see if this helps out any but Psalm

[0:26] 51 this morning and so beginning in

[0:29] verse number one the Bible says have

[0:30] mercy upon me O God according to thy

[0:33] loving-kindness

[0:34] according unto the multitude of thy

[0:37] tender mercies blot out my

[0:39] transgressions wash me thoroughly from

[0:41] mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin

[0:45] for I acknowledge my transgressions and

[0:47] my sin is ever before me against thee

[0:51] and the only have I sinned and done this

[0:53] evil in thy sight that thou mightest be

[0:56] justified when thou speakest and be

[0:58] clear when thou judgest behold I was

[1:01] shapen in iniquity and in sin did my

[1:04] mother conceive me behold thou desirous

[1:07] truth in the inward parts and in the

[1:10] hidden part thou shalt make me to know

[1:12] wisdom purge me with hyssop and I shall

[1:15] be clean wash me and I shall be whiter

[1:18] than snow make me to hear joy and

[1:21] gladness that the bones which thou has

[1:23] broken may rejoice hide thy face from my

[1:27] sins blot out all my iniquities create

[1:30] in me a clean heart O God and renew a

[1:35] right spirit within me it's amazing this

[1:39] morning as you consider those verses

[1:41] David here has just been confronted by

[1:45] Nathan with the truth that he has sinned

[1:48] before God and therefore is under the

[1:51] conviction of the power and the Holy

[1:53] Spirit of God convicting him because of

[1:56] his sin and because of that David

[1:58] describes in that Psalm 2 that he wants

[2:01] God to have mercy upon him according to

[2:04] thy loving-kindness have mercy on me

[2:06] according I loving-kindness according to

[2:08] the multitude of thy tender mercies how

[2:12] do you and I feel and

[2:13] not right with God does it bother you

[2:17] Psalm 51 is david psalm of repentance

[2:19] does it bother you when your

[2:22] relationship with god has been affected

[2:25] by sin it should bother us but it should

[2:28] bother us to the point that we desire to

[2:31] make it right and we find David here he

[2:34] has a request in verse number 10 create

[2:37] in me a clean heart O God and renew a

[2:42] right spirit within me

[2:44] David's request is that God would create

[2:46] in him a clean heart David knew that his

[2:50] heart was deceitful and desperately

[2:52] wicked but he knew he needed to be

[2:55] cleaned David didn't have the power to

[2:57] clean his heart on his own he couldn't

[2:59] muster up the energy from the champion

[3:01] within him is really not a champion

[3:03] there's no champions there's no good

[3:06] people the Bible describes us all as

[3:09] being sinful we are all evil people

[3:11] there are very many wicked people

[3:14] including myself in this world but when

[3:16] the Holy Spirit works in our heart and

[3:18] God begins to create us into a person

[3:22] into His image he creates in us a clean

[3:26] heart we talked about it yesterday the

[3:28] heart being the center of our emotions

[3:30] our decider our thinker and it is very

[3:33] important that when you and I have a

[3:35] heart that's been dirtied by sin that we

[3:39] seek the Lord had asked him to clean our

[3:41] heart to created me a clean heart and

[3:44] renew renew a right spirit within me the

[3:48] request should be every single day to

[3:52] renew a right spirit within us we need

[3:55] to walk with God and have a renewed

[3:57] spirit now David he has sinned before

[4:00] the Lord verse 3 says he says for I

[4:02] acknowledge my transgressions and my sin

[4:06] is ever before me how important it was

[4:11] that David recognized that he had sinned

[4:14] he acknowledged that his behavior was

[4:17] sin and he realized he needed to be

[4:20] cleansed from his sin the Bible tells us

[4:24] in first John 1:9 if we

[4:26] confess our sins he is faithful and just

[4:29] to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us

[4:32] from all unrighteousness I'm thankful

[4:35] for the verse it tells us that God has

[4:37] the power to cleanse us from all

[4:39] unrighteousness that God is faithful but

[4:43] there's two words at the beginning of

[4:44] that verse that I want to draw your

[4:46] attention to the one is if and the

[4:50] second one is we if is conditional if

[4:53] you and I will do that he will cleanse

[4:55] in other words if we do our request to

[5:00] God for him to create in us a clean

[5:02] heart to renew a right spirit he is

[5:04] faithful to answer that prayer but it

[5:09] also says we and the we in that text in

[5:11] 1st John chapter 1 refers to Christians

[5:15] people who already know the Lord Jesus

[5:17] Christ as Savior so I hate to burst your

[5:20] bubble this morning but you're a sinner

[5:22] even though you're a saved sinner you're

[5:26] a sinner which means today you're

[5:28] probably going to struggle with the

[5:29] wrong thoughts and you're gonna need to

[5:32] be cleansed from them maybe today you're

[5:34] gonna say something that's gonna be

[5:36] sinful and you're gonna need to be saved

[5:39] and be cleansed from that you've already

[5:40] been saved but you need to be cleansed

[5:42] from that sin maybe you're gonna listen

[5:45] to something today that you're gonna

[5:47] need forgiveness for maybe you're going

[5:49] to participate with your hands and some

[5:51] activity that you're gonna be need to be

[5:53] cleansed from today the Bible says if we

[5:58] sow you and I today let us examine our

[6:02] hearts no that's not a good response is

[6:05] it I guess we should ask as the psalmist

[6:09] said search me O God in Psalm 139 search

[6:12] me O God and know my heart try me and

[6:16] know my thoughts and see if there be any

[6:20] wicked way in me today I don't know what

[6:24] your days been like so far I don't know

[6:26] how you did yesterday on Monday but

[6:29] would you give God permission to search

[6:32] your heart would you give God permission

[6:35] to examine your life and to cleanse you

[6:38] from all unrighteousness

[6:40] again today would you allow God to have

[6:44] his way in your life would you let God

[6:47] create in you a clean heart and renew a

[6:50] right spirit within you would you allow

[6:53] God to examine your thought life and see

[6:58] if there's been any thoughts that have

[7:00] been sinful in your life this morning I

[7:03] pray that you have a right relationship

[7:06] with God

[7:07] that's he got a clean heart and a clean

[7:10] mind I want to encourage you to be in

[7:13] church on a Wednesday night I'm so

[7:15] thankful I can say be in church on

[7:18] Wednesday and I are gonna be in the

[7:20] building worshiping the Lord together so

[7:23] what encouraged you to take part in our

[7:25] services on Wednesday night

[7:27] pray for one another encourage one

[7:30] another send somebody a text today let

[7:33] them know that you're praying for them
