[0:02] >> Well, it's a scary situation as you know
[0:04] in Texas and Louisiana tonight. The
[0:05] outer bands of the category 4 hurricane
[0:07] Rita already over vulnerable New
[0:10] Orleans. Just three and a half weeks
[0:11] after category 4 Katrina made horrible
[0:13] history all along the Gulf Coast. Rita
[0:16] spent Thursday tracking slightly further
[0:18] than to the east than had been
[0:19] predicted. And now the evacuations which
[0:21] have emptied Galveastston and clogged
[0:23] Houston's highways have spread to the
[0:25] coast of Louisiana. The cities now in
[0:28] the storm's devastating crosshairs
[0:29] appear to be Port Arthur and Bowmont,
[0:32] Texas, as well as Lake Charles,
[0:34] Louisiana, and two major metropolitan
[0:36] areas certainly will feel Rita's wrath
[0:38] as well. They are Houston and cruy New
[0:41] Orleans once again. MSNBC's Rita Cosby
[0:44] is on the ground in Galveston Island
[0:46] where it was an eerily sunny day today.
[0:48] Rita,
[0:49] >> good evening, Tucker. Indeed, the
[0:51] residents here in Galveastston Island on
[0:53] Texas are bracing for the worst, and the
[0:56] worst is yet to come. It is expected to
[0:58] come here in the next 24 to 36 hours,
[1:01] and the hurricane is expected to be a
[1:03] big one. And indeed, Galveston Island is
[1:05] expected to be in the crosshairs. Let me
[1:08] show you sort of the scene over my
[1:10] shoulder here tonight. You can see the
[1:12] waves are just crashing here. And in
[1:14] fact, in the last few hours, the waves
[1:16] have really heightened. Few hours ago,
[1:18] we just saw some very small waves. We
[1:20] could barely even see the white caps.
[1:22] But in the last few hours, the waves
[1:24] have
