[6:30] delegates and alternates to this
[6:32] Republican Convention, I am honored by
[6:35] your nomination and I accept it.
[6:53] With pride, with gratitude, and with a
[6:56] total will to win a great victory for
[6:59] the American people.
[7:09] We will wage a winning campaign in every
[7:12] region of this country
[7:14] from the snowy banks of Minnesota to the
[7:17] sandy plains of Georgia.
[7:32] We concede not a single state. We
[7:35] concede not a single vote.
[7:45] This evening, I am proud to stand before
[7:48] this great convention as the first
[7:51] incumbent president since Dwight D.
[7:53] Eisenhower who can tell the American
[7:57] people America is at peace.
[8:17] TONIGHT, I CAN TELL YOU straight away
[8:20] this nation is sound. This nation is
[8:23] secure. This nation is on the march to
[8:26] full economic recovery and a better
[8:29] quality of life for all Americans.
[8:43] And I'll tell you one more thing.
[8:46] This year, the issues are on our side.
[8:50] I'm ready. I'm eager to go before the
[8:53] American people and debate the real
[8:56] issues FACE-TO-FACE WITH JIMMY CARTER.
[9:31] FOUR MORE YEARS!
[9:33] FOUR MORE YEARS!
[9:36] FOUR MORE YEARS!
[9:38] Four more years!
[9:59] Done.
[10:00] The American people have a right to know
[10:02] firsthand exactly where both of us
[10:06] stand.
[10:12] I am deeply grateful to those who stood
[10:14] with me in winning the nomination
[10:17] of the parties whose cause I have served
[10:19] all of my adult life.
[10:21] I respect the convictions of those who
[10:24] want to change in Washington. I want to
[10:26] change, too. After 22 long years of
[10:31] majority misrule, let's change the
[10:34] United States Congress.
[10:52] My gratitude tonight
[10:54] reaches far beyond this arena
[10:57] to countless friends
