[0:00] form of the century New Orleans locked
[0:03] down hundreds of thousands have fled but
[0:05] have the lessons of Katrina been learned
[0:08] is New Orleans ready for Gustav
[0:13] and good evening I'm Anderson Cooper I
[0:15] want to welcome viewers from around the
[0:16] world watching on CNN International
[0:18] right now to a special edition of AC 360
[0:20] live from New Orleans from the French
[0:22] Quarter a city largely deserted a city
[0:24] whose future could hang in the balance
[0:26] tonight with Hurricane Gustav headed
[0:28] this way we have reporters and
[0:30] contributors found out throughout the
[0:32] area among them Drew Griffin watching
[0:34] the levees here in New Orleans Gary
[0:36] tuckman is in New Orleans East alievel
[0:38] she is in Grand Isle keeping a watch on

[0:54] these outer bands rolling through your
[0:56] area and this is the issue that we're
[0:58] going to have for the next few hours I
[1:00] mean you're going to have one band after
[1:01] another
[1:02] and as the bands get closer to what is
[1:04] the center the eye of the storm the
[1:06] bands are going to get more more violent
[1:08] they're going to get winds up 60 70.
[1:10] then eventually maybe 90 to 100 miles
[1:12] per hour even for you in New Orleans now
[1:14] that said that's going to be bad for
[1:16] tonight knocking out power and such but
[1:18] you're also going to have the threat as
