[0:54] of revelation chapter number 12. so

[0:56] we're going to begin

[0:57] in verse number seven here in just a

[0:59] moment but i'm so glad you've taken the

[1:13] verse number 7

[1:14] and there was a war in heaven michael

[1:17] and his angels fought against the dragon

[1:19] and the dragon fought and his angels

[1:22] and prevailed not neither was their

[1:25] place found

[1:26] any more in heaven and the great dragon

[1:29] was cast out the old serpent called the

[1:31] devil

[1:32] and satan which deceiveth the whole

[1:34] world he was cast out into earth

[1:37] and his angels were cast out with him

[1:39] and i heard a loud voice saying in

[1:41] heaven

[1:42] now has come salvation and strength and

[1:45] the kingdom of our god

[1:47] and the power of his christ for the

[1:49] accuser of our brethren

[1:51] is cast down which accused them before

[1:54] our god

[1:55] day and night and they overcame him

[1:58] by the blood of the lamb and by the word

[2:01] of their testimony

[2:02] and they loved not their lives unto

[2:04] death

[2:05] therefore rejoice ye heavens and ye that

[2:08] dwell in them

[2:09] woe into the habiters of earth and of

[2:11] the sea for the devil has come down unto

[2:14] you

[2:14] having great wrath because he knoweth

[2:16] that he hath but a

[2:18] short time as you see in our text today

[2:22] there's this war

[2:23] in heaven michael the archangel

[2:27] is fighting against the dragon now we

[2:29] know the dragon

[2:30] is satan but he's fighting against him

[2:33] now

[2:34] there has been spiritual warfare been

[2:37] taking place

[2:38] since the devil fell from heaven since

[2:41] he rebelled against god

[2:42] there's been a spiritual battle the

[2:44] devil's been doing everything he can

[2:46] now in scripture michael always fights

[2:50] for the nation of israel

[2:52] in fact in jude chapter number one verse

[2:54] number nine the bible says this

[2:57] yet michael the archangel when

[2:59] contending with the devil

[3:01] he disputed about the body of moses

[3:04] durst not to bring against him a railing

[3:06] accusation

[3:07] but said the lord rebuked thee so one of

[3:09] the times

[3:10] in scripture where michael fought satan

[3:14] was again for the body of moses

[3:17] and there's a dispute there and they

[3:19] fought over it

[3:20] we know that god buried moses

[3:24] but before that time frame there's a

[3:26] fight going on

[3:28] satan wanted to have influence there

[3:30] wanted to use the body of moses and

[3:32] use it as a false god and use it as

[3:34] something that would detour the nation

[3:36] of israel

[3:37] from following after god and so there's

[3:40] a fight there that took place

[3:41] in daniel chapter 10 verse 13

[3:45] michael fights with satan or one of his

[3:47] emissaries

[3:49] again the prayers of daniel it says in

[3:52] daniel 10 13 but the prince of the

[3:54] kingdom of persia withstood me

[3:56] one in 20 days but lo michael one of the

[3:59] chief

[4:00] princes came to help me and i remained

[4:02] there with the kings of persia

[4:04] and so a second time recorded in

[4:06] scripture is daniel chapter 10

[4:09] when they thought over the prayers of

[4:11] daniel and

[4:12] if you get time to read daniel chapter

[4:14] 10 i don't have time to go into it today

[4:17] but there's a lot of excitement that

[4:18] happens there

[4:20] a third battle that's mentioned in

[4:22] scriptures this one that's found here

[4:24] is in the middle of the tribulation

[4:26] period now you say well preacher

[4:28] how do you know that this is in the

[4:29] middle of the tribulation period

[4:31] well as we look at the text there's some

[4:33] interesting things we need to point out

[4:36] the war that's being fought we notice

[4:38] that down

[4:39] in the verse number 10 11 area

[4:43] it says that he was the accuser of our

[4:46] brethren we know in the book of job

[4:48] that satan accused job before god

[4:52] we know that today satan went and he

[4:55] accused you

[4:57] before the lord but we do know this in

[4:59] first john chapter two verses one and

[5:02] two

[5:02] it says that my little children these

[5:04] things write unto you that ye sin

[5:06] not and if any man sin we have an

[5:09] advocate with the father

[5:11] jesus christ the righteous he's the

[5:13] propitiation for our sins

[5:15] and not for ours only but also for the

[5:17] sins of the

[5:18] whole world and so today

[5:22] he's accusing but there's going to come

[5:24] a day a

[5:25] future day when he will be cast out

[5:28] of heaven and that day happens in the

[5:31] middle

[5:32] of the tribulation period the reason we

[5:34] know that as we read through the text it

[5:36] continues on

[5:38] and reveals to us this woman in

[5:41] chapter 12 we referenced her last week

[5:44] as the nation of

[5:45] israel the man-child who is jesus

[5:49] the dragon who is satan and his desire

[5:52] to destroy

[5:54] well we'll find later on in the chapter

[5:56] that the woman the nation of israel

[5:58] flees into the wilderness

[6:00] and is there for three and a half years

[6:02] hiding

[6:03] and being protected by god in the

[6:05] wilderness

[6:06] so we know he does that after

[6:10] he has been cast out of heaven and so

[6:13] here we find that the battle that's

[6:15] taking place

[6:17] is in the middle of the tribulation

[6:19] period when satan loses

[6:21] now if you go back in time there are

[6:24] other people who have deferring views

[6:26] some people believe it's at the

[6:27] beginning of the tribulation but i don't

[6:30] see that from the text

[6:31] some people believe this is referencing

[6:34] the

[6:35] very first time that jesus and satan

[6:38] fought when

[6:39] satan rebelled against jesus and michael

[6:41] fought against him then

[6:42] that this is before creation i don't see

[6:45] that from the text

[6:47] the text reveals to us this happening

[6:50] during the middle of the tribulation

[6:52] period so this war takes place

[6:55] satan loses and when he loses all the

[6:59] rejoicing that comes

[7:01] look if you would in the verse here it

[7:03] says and i heard a loud voice in heaven

[7:05] saying

[7:05] now is come salvation and strength and

[7:08] the kingdom of our god

[7:10] and the power of his christ for the

[7:12] accuser of the brethren is

[7:14] cast down which accused him before our

[7:17] god

[7:18] day and night and so

[7:21] the referencing here accused them he's

[7:25] stopped accusing them because he's no

[7:27] longer there

[7:28] has not happened yet it must be in the

[7:31] middle of the tribulation period

[7:33] and so it says here the next verse they

[7:36] overcame him

[7:38] the accuser by the blood of the lamb and

[7:40] by the word of their testimony

[7:43] and they love not their lives unto death

[7:45] the accused

[7:46] are overcomers by the blood of the lamb

[7:50] and by the word of the testimony you and

[7:51] i have nothing

[7:53] to defeat the devil with but the blood

[7:55] of jesus christ he's the propitiation

[7:58] for our sins the payment

[8:00] for our sins he's our advocate the blood

[8:03] of the lamb

[8:04] covers us from all of our sin the

[8:07] testimony that you and i have the day we

[8:10] got

[8:10] saved when jesus christ changed our life

[8:13] helps us to overcome him

[8:16] now you'll notice as it continues on it

[8:19] says this therefore rejoice ye heavens

[8:22] and ye that dwell in them so those that

[8:25] are dwelling there

[8:26] are the church has been raptured out as

[8:29] we mentioned

[8:29] in chapter number four the church and

[8:32] the saved are enjoying

[8:34] heaven and now they're rejoicing because

[8:38] the accuser of the brethren has been

[8:40] cast out

[8:41] but notice the transition here woe to

[8:44] the inhabiters

[8:45] of the earth and of the sea those in the

[8:48] sea talking about those that live on the

[8:49] islands of the sea

[8:51] for the devil has come down unto you

[8:53] having great wrath

[8:55] because he knoweth that he hath but a

[8:57] short

[8:58] time the short time referencing here the

[9:02] three and a half years left of the

[9:04] tribulation period

[9:06] now in the middle of the tribulation

[9:07] period we'll know the antichrist will

[9:10] enter into the temple

[9:11] and he will commit the abomination of

[9:13] desolation

[9:14] and he will begin to transition from his

[9:18] plan of peace

[9:19] to his plan of war we'll notice also

[9:22] during this time that the transition

[9:25] of the judgments of god will be during

[9:27] the vile

[9:28] judgments as they're poured out god's

[9:30] undiluted wrath is poured out upon

[9:32] mankind it's going to be a terrible

[9:35] awful time now the two witnesses in the

[9:38] 144 000 will still be preaching the

[9:40] gospel

[9:41] still be talking about salvation still

[9:44] be trying to lead people to christ

[9:47] but the sadness will come for the nation

[9:49] of israel

[9:50] as i mentioned to you last week chapter

[9:52] 12 is a primarily jewish book

[9:56] chapter it's all about the nation of

[9:58] israel

[9:59] it's also interesting to point out if

[10:01] you would that verse number 12

[10:02] is the only verse in chapter 12 that

[10:06] doesn't start with the word

[10:07] and verse number 12 starts with

[10:10] therefore rejoice every other verse

[10:12] starts with the word and

[10:14] and because of that sometimes it can be

[10:17] difficult

[10:18] as we've seen in other sections of

[10:20] revelation where

[10:21] it says and after that or after this

[10:24] and we know the timeline structure but

[10:27] here

[10:28] it's just and and and so the context

[10:31] reveals to us it's in the middle of the

[10:34] tribulation period

[10:36] the war in heaven took place and michael

[10:39] and his angels are going to win and

[10:42] michael has been disputing

[10:43] satan fighting against him for thousands

[10:46] of years

[10:48] but he's going to lose here and be

[10:50] kicked out of heaven

[10:51] and be the accuser of the brethren no

[10:54] more before god at this time

[10:56] now he'll try again later on but it

[10:58] won't work

[11:00] now we'll find here in our chapter today

[11:03] that this battle in heaven takes place

[11:06] satan's cast to the earth in verse

[11:09] number 13 and when the dragon saw that

[11:11] he was cast unto earth

[11:13] he persecuted the woman which brought

[11:15] forth the man child

[11:17] the woman being the nation of israel the

[11:19] child being jesus christ

[11:22] now next week we're going to have part
