[0:15] 863 nautical miles out from Earth.
[0:20] Velocity 3,084
[0:23] feet per second.
[0:27] At 61 hours 46 minutes ground elapsed
[0:30] time and standing by. This is Apollo
[0:32] control.
[0:36] About Apollo 13 and astronauts Jim
[0:39] Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert
[0:41] during a long emergency night. We pause
[0:44] now 5 seconds for our stations across
[0:46] the country to identify themselves.
[0:58] Jules Bergman and Jim Burns at ABC Space
[1:01] Headquarters in New York at
[1:03] would you believe almost 4:00 a.m.
[1:05] Eastern Standard Time on this long

[1:40] second, which is well, if you figure it
[1:42] out, it's about
[1:43] 11 and 1/2 miles an hour speed change.
[1:47] Uh
[1:47] a burn aimed at putting them back into a
[1:50] free return trajectory that will carry
[1:52] them smoothly around the moon and back
[1:54] toward Earth to replace the hybrid
[1:56] trajectory they're on, which would have
[1:57] carried them in a long loop out over the
[1:59] moon. The burn from all
[2:01] uh
[2:02] reports we've been able to get went
[2:03] smoothly and should have done should
[2:05] have achieved its goa
