[0:01] be there.
[0:02] >> I'm Roger Mud, NBC News, Washington.
[0:06] The Kremlin, using language almost
[0:08] heartless in tone, today refused to
[0:10] accept responsibility for the shooting
[0:12] down of the Korean airliner, but said
[0:14] that in the leading circles of the
[0:16] Soviet Union, they expressed their
[0:18] regret in connection with human victims.
[0:20] In its statement from TAS, Moscow said
[0:22] its fighter pilots had fired warning
[0:24] shots at the Korean 747 and suggested

[1:01] consider that the itinerary and the
[1:03] nature of the flight were not
[1:05] accidental. In the light of these facts,
[1:07] the intrusion into airspace by the
[1:09] mentioned plane cannot be regarded in
[1:11] any other way than a pre-planned act. It
[1:14] was obviously thought possible to attain
[1:16] special intelligence aims without
[1:18] hindrance using civilian planes as
[1:20] cover. If it were an ordinary flight of
[1:23] a civilian aircraft which was under
[1:24] continuous observation, then why were
[1:27] steps not taken from the Am
