[0:21] [Music]

[0:24] where can one turn to find the answers

[0:28] to the questions within

[0:29] [Music]

[0:32] join us as we discover the truth

[0:37] in revelation revealed

[0:44] [Music]

[0:45] welcome back to revelation revealed a

[0:48] ministry of the bible baptist church

[0:50] here i'm pastor adam pearson and

[0:52] today we're looking at the next three

[0:55] verses we left off at verse number three

[0:57] and now we're gonna be looking at verses

[0:59] four five and

[1:00] six the bible tells us in revelation

[1:03] chapter one verse number four

[1:06] that john to the seven churches which

[1:08] are in asia

[1:09] grace be unto you in peace now that's

[1:12] the normal salutation that you'll find

[1:15] in many of the epistles they would say

[1:17] i paul or i peter or i taught grace and

[1:20] peace unto you

[1:22] but we're going to talk about this

[1:24] salutation now the seven churches were

[1:26] in asia

[1:27] this is in asia minor what we would call

[1:30] today in modern day

[1:32] turkey area and so asia minor

[1:35] and these seven churches here are listed

[1:38] out for us later on in chapters two and

[1:40] three

[1:41] these are real churches real churches

[1:44] that existed during that time

[1:46] in fact we know that john at one time

[1:48] evidently was a pastor of the church at

[1:50] ephesus

[1:51] and so we're looking here at these

[1:54] seven churches so the grace and peace is

[1:58] the

[1:58] typical salutation but then it veers off

[2:01] from there

[2:02] because john's not talking about him

[2:04] because this message is not from john

[2:07] this message is from somebody else so

[2:09] let's look at it verse number four

[2:11] say grace be unto you and peace from him

[2:14] which is and which was and which

[2:18] is to come this is referencing jehovah

[2:21] god the father

[2:22] who is in the present which is

[2:26] which was he was in the past and which

[2:29] is to come as in the future

[2:30] god is not confined by time as we

[2:33] mentioned

[2:33] last week but here it reminds us that he

[2:36] was in your past he's in your present

[2:38] and he's in your future

[2:40] he continues on from there and from the

[2:43] seven

[2:43] spirits which are before his throne

[2:47] now there's two teachings here that are

[2:50] referenced about the seven spirits

[2:52] now there can be multiple teachings but

[2:55] only one true interpretation

[2:57] i'm going to share with you both

[2:59] teachings and then i'm going to share

[3:00] with you

[3:01] why the biblical interpretation is what

[3:04] it

[3:05] is so the two teachings one teaching

[3:08] is that the seven spirits here are

[3:10] referencing seven angels

[3:12] that are messenger angels and that

[3:15] that's who those

[3:16] spirits are they refer to them as the

[3:19] lamps later on they say they begin

[3:21] delivering messages

[3:23] uh to the people in revelation chapter

[3:25] number eight

[3:27] but also the other teaching is that the

[3:30] seven

[3:30] spirits here are referencing the seven

[3:32] attributes

[3:34] of the holy spirit found in isaiah

[3:36] chapter 11 verses one through three

[3:39] so let's turn there in your bible to

[3:41] isaiah 11

[3:43] 1-3 in fact i believe we'll show that

[3:45] graphic up on the screen for you

[3:47] isaiah 11 1 3 and there shall come forth

[3:50] a rod out of the stem of jesse

[3:53] and a branch shall grow out of his roots

[3:55] this is referencing jesus

[3:57] and his lineage from king david

[4:00] and how he is part of the davidic line

[4:03] and will sit on the throne

[4:04] so this is referencing jesus

[4:07] his first coming but also his second

[4:10] coming isaiah gets to see both

[4:12] at one time so jesus was the prophet the

[4:15] priest

[4:16] and the king and so they're seeing him

[4:18] as king verse 2

[4:20] and the spirit of the lord shall rest

[4:21] upon him the spirit of wisdom

[4:24] and understanding the spirit of counsel

[4:26] and might the spirit of

[4:28] knowledge and of the fear of the lord

[4:30] and shall make him of quick

[4:31] understanding in the fear of the lord

[4:33] and he shall not judge after the sight

[4:35] of his

[4:36] eyes neither reprove after the hearing

[4:38] of his ears

[4:39] and as isaiah 11 continues you'll find

[4:41] it talking about

[4:43] the future kingdom of the root of david

[4:46] the stem out of jesse referring to jesus

[4:49] himself

[4:50] now jesus's kingdom on earth has not

[4:52] happened yet

[4:54] it'll happen during the millennial

[4:56] kingdom which is

[4:57] after the tribulation period but john is

[5:00] getting to

[5:01] a glimpse to see about this person

[5:04] who represents jesus christ and the

[5:07] spirit

[5:08] of the lord now i want you to notice the

[5:10] spirit is

[5:11] one spirit but there's seven attributes

[5:14] in there

[5:15] the context reveals the truth that the

[5:18] seven

[5:19] spirits reference the holy spirit

[5:22] the holy spirit here now his seven

[5:24] attributes we'll talk about them in the

[5:26] moment

[5:27] but let me ask you a question why would

[5:30] angels be sending a salutation

[5:34] from god the father in verse four and

[5:36] jesus christ being part of it in verse 5

[5:39] why would angels have a part in greeting

[5:42] mankind

[5:44] i don't believe you can say well they're

[5:46] just special angels preacher

[5:48] that's why they get to greet mankind i

[5:50] don't believe it to be so

[5:52] i do know that the bible teaches about a

[5:54] triune

[5:55] god that these three are one the father

[5:59] the son and what's that third one yes

[6:02] the holy spirit

[6:04] and so i believe the bible is teaching

[6:06] here

[6:07] the seven attributes found in isaiah 11

[6:10] are the reference to the seven spirits

[6:13] here in verse number four now the seven

[6:16] attributes that are listed

[6:18] are his omnipresence when it says that

[6:20] the spirit will rest upon him the spirit

[6:23] is omnipresent

[6:24] he'll be he's been he's in the past

[6:28] he's in the present he'll be in the

[6:30] future and his work

[6:32] is at work so the holy spirit there his

[6:35] omnipresence

[6:36] also his wisdom his understanding his

[6:40] counsel his

[6:41] might or power this knowledge and

[6:44] the fear of the lord of the reverence of

[6:46] god

[6:47] all of those attributes of the holy

[6:50] spirit are

[6:51] prevalent in the life of mankind but

[6:54] also

[6:54] are seen in the power and work

[6:57] of jesus christ now he tells us here

[7:01] that these seven

[7:02] spirits are around the throne of god and

[7:04] that those we've read in the context

[7:07] it must be the holy spirit of god

[7:11] now it continues on in verse number five

[7:13] and from jesus

[7:14] christ who is the faithful witness

[7:18] and the first forgotten of the dead and

[7:21] the

[7:21] prince of kings of the earth unto him

[7:24] that

[7:24] loved us and washed us from our sins in

[7:27] his own blood

[7:28] and hath made us kings and priests unto

[7:30] god and his father

[7:32] to him be glory and dominion forever

[7:35] and ever amen

[7:38] that verse details us some things about

[7:41] jesus christ

[7:42] three things that he is jesus christ is

[7:45] the faithful witness jesus christ is the

[7:48] first begotten

[7:49] of the dead jesus christ is the prince

[7:53] of the kings of the earth it also shows

[7:55] us three things that jesus

[7:57] does he loved us he washed us with his

[8:00] own blood

[8:01] and he made us kings and priests unto

[8:04] our god

[8:05] so the question is asked who the seven

[8:08] spirits are

[8:09] and i believe the context what the bible

[8:11] says

[8:12] is clear the seven spirits that are

[8:14] around the throne are referencing

[8:16] the holy spirit and his work and his

[8:19] seven attributes as found in isaiah

[8:21] chapter 11

[8:23] verses one through three but again

[8:26] study it out read the word you're

[8:29] blessed because of it according to verse

[8:31] number three

[8:32] but jesus is the faithful witness so

[8:35] jesus

[8:37] god the father and the holy spirit

[8:40] greet these seven churches and help to

[8:42] deliver the message to them

[8:45] and so the message is from god now we

[8:47] know god

[8:48] being three in one we know that him to

[8:52] be faithful

[8:53] and true so i challenge you to study

[8:56] this next section verses 7 8
