[0:05] A public relations victory for the
[0:07] president at the economic summit, but
[0:09] will it actually result in more jobs
[0:11] back home?
[0:12] >> In the Midwest, crop damage mounts as
[0:15] the rains and the flooding continue.
[0:17] What will be the cost to American
[0:19] consumers?
[0:20] >> And a small town in Wisconsin produces a
[0:23] Powerball winner. The mystery man with a
[0:25] ticket worth more than $100 million. Um,
[0:28] I was kind of wishing it was me rather
[0:31] than him. I would feel luckier if it
[0:32] was.
[0:33] >> You envy them?
[0:34] >> Yeah.
[0:36] >> This is the CBS Evening News

[1:00] South Korea. White House correspondent
[1:02] Susan Spencer covered the summit peaks
[1:04] and valleys.
[1:07] >> On the summit's final night, a hastily
[1:09] arranged dinner and last chance to reach
[1:11] a US Japan trade agreement with
[1:13] President Clinton trying to be upbeat.
[1:16] >> We even had a sushi bar in little
[1:18] >> after a night of negotiations. A
[1:20] surprise announcement. An agreement the
[1:22] US says has enough teeth in it to get
[1:24] Japan to cut its trade surplus, even
[1:27] though it avoids what the Japanese see
[1:29] as quotas. For the president, a summit
[1:32] for which there were few expectations
[1:33] had somewhat mixed results. Agree
