[0:48] Kurrick reporting tonight from
[0:50] Washington.
[0:52] >> And good evening everyone. They have
[0:53] been very busy back there at the capital
[0:56] and late today negotiators announced the
[0:58] House and Senate have reached a
[0:59] compromise on an economic stimulus
[1:02] package. Price tag 789 billion down from
[1:05] the more than 800 billion both houses
[1:08] had approved. And here's how it breaks
[1:10] down. 65% spending, 35% tax cuts, all
[1:14] aimed at giving the economy a boost and
[1:16] saving or creating more than three
[1:18] million jobs. Chip Reed is at the White
[1:21] House tonight. and shift. Did the
[1:22] president get what he wanted?
[1:24] >> Well, Katie, he certainly did did not
[1:25] get everything he wanted. Uh, for
[1:27] example, the bill falls short by
[1:29] billions on healthcare and education.
[1:31] But in the end, the president decided
[1:32] it's much more important to get this
[1:34] bill passed quickly and put people back
[1:36] to work than t
