[0:11] Soviet President Brnavv tells visiting
[0:14] US senators Russia tested a neutron bomb
[0:17] but decided not to produce it. US spy
[0:20] planes search for Russian MIGs in Cuba.
[0:24] From ABC, this is World News Tonight
[0:27] with Frank Reynolds in Washington. Max
[0:29] Robinson in Chicago, Barbara Walters,
[0:32] special reports, and from our desk in
[0:35] London, Peter Jennings.
[0:38] Good evening. Overseas and at home these
[0:41] past few days, we've been hearing more
[0:42] than the usual concern expressed about
[0:44] nuclear weapons. There have been some
[0:46] sharp exchanges this week between the
[0:48] United States and the Soviet Union about
[0:50] each other's nuclear capabilities,
[0:52] though largely that of the Soviets. Much
[0:54] of the discussion whether about MIG23s
[0:56] in Cuba with a nuclear capacity or as it
[0:59] emerged today whether the Soviet Union
[1:01] has tested a neutron bomb has taken
[1:03] place in the Soviet capital itself. It
[1:06] is perhaps ironic that the concern has
[1:08] been expressed as Soviet leader BRV told
[1:10] American senators today that a strategic
[1:13] nuclear weapons agreement was 95%
[1:16] complete. As Charles Berbower reports
[1:18] tonight though those senators have been
[1:20] at the center of the nuclear discussion.
[1:24] The senator's Kremlin clashes started
[1:26] with Soviet premier Kosigan. When
[1:28] Connecticut Senator Abraham Rivikov
[1:30] questioned the Soviet premier about MIG
[1:32] 23s in Cuba, Kosigan sharply denied that
[1:35] the Soviets have violated the 1962
[1:37] agreement to keep nuclear weapons out of
[1:40] Cuba. The Brev meeting, once canled,
[1:43] appeared to be put back in the program
[1:45] solely to give the senators a 50-minu
