[0:14] CNN. The standoff in Belgrade.
[0:16] Yugoslavia's ex-president declares that
[0:19] he would rather die than surrender to
[0:21] police. From California's power crunch
[0:24] to higher prices at the pump this
[0:25] summer, the nation's energy rose. But is
[0:28] it really a crisis? Plus, the fear here
[0:31] over foot and mouth. Why US farmers are
[0:34] worried even though an outbreak is an

[1:22] compound where Mallosvich lives.
[1:26] But the police underestimated
[1:28] Mallosvich's bodyguards numbers and
[1:30] their willingness to defend
[1:32] him. The Mallosvich bodyguards
[1:35] reportedly, including some army
[1:36] loyalists, opened fire on the police
[1:38] assault team, which apparently was under
[1:41] orders not to return fire. And while the
[1:43] police sought shelter in a gate house, a
[1:46] defiant Mallosvich was insid
