[0:00] the issue can be uh focused on that sort
[0:02] of thing. I think we need everybody that
[0:05] we possibly can get as long as they are
[0:08] not doing harm. I share that value of
[0:10] course with Dr. Angel and she's put it
[0:12] well. But the fact of the matter is the
[0:14] issue is safety and the safety if if
[0:16] indeed she feels that strongly about
[0:18] HIV. There's no question that hepatitis
[0:20] B is 100fold more infectious in the
[0:23] workplace. And yet we do not have
[0:25] policies uh in place that assure that
[0:28] everybody is HIV vaccinated that and
[0:31] certainly not that people are are I'm
[0:32] sorry hepatitis B vaccinated hepatitis B
[0:34] tested. So there's an inconsistency in
[0:36] that argument which is quite troubling
[0:39] since universal precautions are designed
[0:41] to meet the greater safety risk of
[0:43] things like hepatitis B while providing
[0:46] a hundfold extra assurance about uh uh
[0:50] HIV uh HIV in the workplace. Those two
[0:53] are always hard to discuss at the same
[0:54] time.
[0:55] >> Well, let me ask Dr. Angel the the
[0:58] reverse of what I just asked Dr. Osbbor.
[1:00] If your
[1:02] uh if your steps are not adopted, what
[1:04] do you think the consequences will be?
[1:06] What would be the harm in not doing what
[1:08] you want done?
[1:09] >> I think that this epidemic will stay
[1:11] underground. That is, we won't know
[1:13] who's infected and we won't be able to
[1:15] protect their partners. I think the
[1:17] problem that Dr. Osborne has suggested
[1:20] that we wouldn't have enough doctors if
[1:22] they were tested uh suggests that large
[1:25] numbers of health care providers are
[1:27] infected. I don't believe that that
[1:28] would turn out to be true. I think
[1:30] probabl
