[0:00] scene we have had of uh the US military
[0:03] operation. This particular scene uh
[0:07] this is uh US troops landing at old
[0:10] Panama. Difficult to tell whether they
[0:11] are army or marines uh landing at uh
[0:14] that old Panama. You can see smoke in
[0:16] the distance.
[0:18] >> This was just few hours ago
[0:21] >> and this was about two hours ago. One
[0:23] Vasquez says
[0:28] daylight came and American troops
[0:30] securing roads and bridges.
[0:34] While Panama is a small country and
[0:36] Panama City is a comparatively small
[0:39] city by world standards, must keep in
[0:43] mind of what a difficult and very large
[0:46] operation this is.
[0:49] helicopters uh just at dawn. As you can
[0:52] see,
[0:54] the US attack uh began at about midnight
[0:58] last night, Eastern time. Early elements
[1:00] of the attack started much earlier than
[1:02] that, but the official mark time for the
[1:05] attack was 100 a.m. Eastern uh time.
[1:08] Heaviest fighting apparently occurred
[1:09] between 1 and 4:00 a.m. US time. These
[1:12] pictures taken as daylight came
[1:17] and those particular helicopters appear
[1:19] to be troop carrying helicopters.
[1:23] >> This was in the vicinity. This was in
[1:25] the eastern side of the city on the
[1:26] vicinity of the Marriott Hotel
[1:35] >> and
[1:36] >> now this is in excuse me Dan
[1:38] >> please run. Go ahead. This is that was
[1:40] in the general area of um now apparently
[1:44] we've lost the picture but the last
[1:46] pictures we saw were Americans moving
[1:48] into the general area of one of the
[1:50] panameanian military installations
[1:52] located uh in the eastern side of the
[1:55] city between the Marriott and the
[1:57] international airport. one, we may get
[1:59] some more pictures as we are
