[0:04] and I was pulling my boat back in I was
[0:06] tying it up and the guy next to me was
[0:08] tying his boat up and that we were just
[0:10] talking and the guy said hey look at the
[0:12] flare and I turned around looked at the
[0:14] flare we now joined our regularly
[0:16] scheduled program already in progress I
[0:18] said that the thing just like exploded
[0:20] and it looked like a a Christmas tree of
[0:23] fire going down to the water the
[0:25] information is very sketchy apparently
[0:26] the plane was seen to explode and fall
[0:28] into the sea almost immediately and uh
[0:31] there was an alert put out at that point
[0:33] and the units began to respond we have
[0:35] helicopters flying over the house before
[0:38] we left the beach to find out exactly
[0:40] what happened you could see all of the
[0:43] boats and all of the helicopters out in
[0:44] the water circling
[0:46] 10 40 p.m the first live aerial pictures
[0:49] of the crash scene came through but news
[0:51] helicopters were kept far from the scene
[0:57] we're gonna get a little bit closer
[0:59] right now or some of the lights off the
[1:01] boats in the water that are involved in
[1:03] the rescue effort there are uh scores of
[1:06] them out there right now it is an
[1:07] enormous rescue effort between the
[1:09] National Guard and the Coast Guard uh
[1:12] they are searching an enormous area
[1:16] um Ted Mike Kelly of TWA operations uh
[1:19] gave a briefing just a few minutes ago
[1:21] at JFK airport and he said that TWA
[1:23] security has been at one of the highest
[1:26] possible levels during recent months
[1:28] because of the upcoming Olympics Ted all
