[0:23] Tonight, they promise to fight childhood

[0:25] obesity, but the biggest chains may be

[0:27] working [music] harder than ever to get

[0:58] >> From CBS News World Headquarters in New

[1:02] York, this is the CBS Evening News with

[1:05] [music] Katie Kurrick.

[1:07] >> Good evening, everyone. In a perfect

[1:09] world, American families would gather

[1:11] each night about now for a healthy

[1:13] home-cooked meal. But for an increasing

[1:15] number of people, dinner is often fast

[1:17] food. Three years ago, the big chains

[1:19] promised to help fight childhood

[1:21] obesity. But a report out today suggests

[1:23] they've done the exact opposite. It is

[1:26] the most comprehensive study ever into

[1:28] fast food nutrition and marketing. It

[1:30] shows that out of more than 3,000

[1:32] possible kids meal combinations at the

[1:34] major chains, only 12 meet nutritional

[1:37] guidelines for preschoolers.
