[0:05] brought on to the people of Sweetwater,
[0:06] but police, the mayor, other city
[0:08] officials are encouraging folks saying,
[0:10] "Look, the storm may be gone, but the
[0:11] trouble it brought certainly is not."
[0:16] With this much water, life is anything
[0:18] but sweet for the people of Sweetwater.
[0:22] On this bright and sunny day after, the
[0:24] struggle to return to normal is evident
[0:27] everywhere. And it is a struggle for
[0:29] drivers.
[0:30] How'd you get in this mess?
[0:31] Uh I was just driving home from work,
[0:33] and well, my car started floating away,
[0:35] and it started drifting all over the
[0:36] street, and I had to pull over. And then
[0:37] my car flooded and had to get out. It's
[0:39] a lot deeper than you thought it was.
[0:40] Yeah, basically.
[0:41] A struggle, too, for many many
[0:43] homeowners. Come on in here. I want to
[0:45] bring inside here for just a second and
[0:47] give you an example of what I mean by
[0:49] struggle. These folks
[0:52] had barricaded their front door against
[0:54] the rainwater, but as you're about to
[0:56] see, that did them very little good.
[1:03] Sweetwater police gave the Pen Corvo
[1:05] family sandbags yesterday, but they
[1:07] weren't enough to stop any of this.
[1:10] Every room, every stitch of furniture
[1:12] soaked. A lifetime of treasured mementos
[1:15] nearly ruined.
