[22:37] in verse number 1 of Genesis chapter

[22:39] number 22 and if you would at home

[22:42] please stand as we hold in our hands the

[22:46] Word of God and we read and honor the

[22:48] Word of God the first fourteen verses

[22:50] today of Genesis chapter number 22 the

[22:55] Bible says this and it came to pass

[22:57] after these things that God did tempt

[23:00] Abram him and said unto Him Abraham and

[23:04] he said Behold Here I am and he said

[23:09] take now thy son thine only son Isaac

[23:12] whom thou lovest and get the end of the

[23:17] land of Moriah and offer him there for a

[23:20] burnt offering and upon one of the

[23:23] mountains which I will tell thee of and

[23:25] Abraham rose up early in the morning and

[23:28] saddled his ass and took two of his

[23:31] young men with him and Isaac his son and

[23:35] excuse me Isaac his son and claimed the

[23:38] wood for the burnt offering and rose up

[23:40] and went into the place which God had

[23:42] told him then on the third day Abraham

[23:45] lifted up his eyes and saw the place

[23:47] afar off and Abraham said to his young

[23:50] man abide ye here with the ass and I and

[23:53] the lad will go yonder and worship and

[23:56] come again to you and Abraham took wood

[23:58] of the burnt offering and laid it upon

[24:01] Isaac his son and he took the fire in

[24:03] his hand and a knife and they went both

[24:06] of them together

[24:08] Isaac spake unto Abraham his father said

[24:10] my father and he said Here I am I my son

[24:13] he said Behold the fire and the wood but

[24:18] where is the lamb for the burnt offering

[24:20] and Abraham said my son God will provide

[24:23] himself a lamb for the burnt offering

[24:26] so they went both of them together they

[24:29] came to the place which God had told him

[24:31] of and Abraham built an altar there and

[24:33] laid the wood in order and bound Isaac

[24:35] his son and laid him on the altar upon

[24:38] the wood and Abraham stretched forth his

[24:40] hand and took the knife to slay his son

[24:43] and the angel the Lord called unto him

[24:45] out of heaven and said Abraham Abraham

[24:47] and he said here am I and he said lay

[24:50] not thine hand upon the lad neither do

[24:53] thou anything unto him for now I know

[24:55] that thou fearest God seeing that thou

[24:57] hast not withheld thy son thy only son

[25:00] from me and Abraham lifted up his eyes

[25:04] and looked and behold behind him a ram

[25:05] caught in the thicket by his horns

[25:07] neighbour ham went and took the RAM and

[25:10] offered him up for a burnt offering in

[25:11] the stead of his son and Abraham called

[25:14] the name of that place Jehovah Jireh as

[25:16] it is said to this day and the amount of

[25:19] the Lord it shall be seen let's pray

[25:21] dear Heavenly Father lord I thank you

[25:23] for the opportunity to preach your word

[25:25] what I pray tonight that you would

[25:27] please cleanse me of sin you'd empty me

[25:28] yourself that I may get out of the way

[25:30] tonight and your word may go forth what

[25:33] I pray that you challenge our hearts

[25:34] today from your word speak to us tonight

[25:37] wherever we may be in your name I pray

[25:39] amen and thank you for standing you may

[25:42] be seated in this passage of Scripture

[25:46] we have Abraham Isaac and the Lord

[25:49] having a group discussion that you would

[25:53] say or a trial for Abraham now it's

[25:57] interesting as we look at this the title

[26:00] of the message tonight is Jehovah Jireh

[26:02] which means God provides God will

[26:05] provide in our text we find that that

[26:09] God did tempt now he's not tempting

[26:11] Abraham to sin he's testing Abraham God

[26:15] provided the test for Abraham now the

[26:19] test is not to see if you

[26:20] kill his son that's not the test the

[26:24] testing of Abraham was to see if Abraham

[26:27] was willing to submit to God instead of

[26:31] loving and caring for his son more that

[26:35] his relationship with God the test is

[26:38] not the important part

[26:40] but the result is so we find the test he

[26:44] tells him to take his son and to offer

[26:46] him up now we know that God never ever

[26:50] condoned human sacrifice but we find in

[26:54] our text that the challenge is for

[26:56] Abraham to be willing to give up what he

[27:00] loves the most in order to have faith

[27:03] and follow God but I want to point out

[27:05] some things to you let's pick up if you

[27:08] would on verse 4 then on the third day

[27:10] Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the

[27:12] place so far off and Abraham said unto

[27:15] his young men abide ye here with the ass

[27:17] and I and the lad will go yonder and

[27:21] worship and come again to you it's

[27:27] amazing when you look at that portion of

[27:29] scripture to understand that Abraham had

[27:32] faith that Isaac was coming back he

[27:35] didn't know how Isaac was coming back

[27:37] but he had faith that Isaac was coming

[27:40] back in our tension it seems that

[27:42] Abraham may have thought that if Isaac
