[0:00] not be seen tonight in order to bring
[0:02] you this special program.
[0:05] This is a CBS News special report.
[0:09] Crisis in Korea brought to you in color
[0:12] by Western Electric, the manufacturing
[0:15] and supply unit of the Bell System, as
[0:18] part of their continuing coverage of
[0:19] important news events.
[0:22] Good evening, I'm Mike Wallace. This day
[0:24] has seen the United States continuing
[0:26] its diplomatic efforts to resolve the
[0:28] crisis posed by the North Korean seizure
[0:30] of the spy ship Pueblo.

[1:06] the Pueblo would be put on trial as
[1:08] criminals.
[1:09] President Johnson addressed the nation
[1:11] in mid-afternoon from the White House.
[1:13] He assessed the motives of the North
[1:15] Koreans, and he gave them a carefully
[1:17] worded warning.
[1:19] The North Koreans are apparently
[1:22] attempting to intimidate the South
[1:25] Koreans.
[1:27] And are trying to interrupt the growing
[1:29] spirit of confidence
[1:32] and progress
[1:33] in the Republic of Korea.
[1:36] These attacks may al
