[0:09] definition.

[0:12] >> Valerie Burtonelli. How much does she

[0:14] weigh now?

[0:15] >> And action.

[0:16] >> The brand new video in a sexy purple

[0:19] swimsuit. Then

[0:20] >> I put food in my mouth.

[0:22] >> The face transplant woman before her

[0:24] surgery. The lost interview about the

[0:26] man who tried to kill her. He was my

[0:28] first love.

[0:30] >> The Grey's Anatomy wedding shocker.

[0:33] Izzy says I do, but what about McDreamie

[0:35] and Meredith? And is Catherine about to

[0:38] be killed off on the show?

[0:39] >> Is it true that you quit Grey's Anatomy?

[0:41] >> Then breaking news just in on Ferris

[0:44] cancer fight. Plus, real or rumor, will

[0:46] Kefir Sutherland's arrest affect 24?

[0:49] Will Ryan Reynolds battle his wife on

[0:51] the big screen?

[0:52] >> It's a bit of a dream come true.

[0:54] John Edwards, the mistress, and the

[0:56] baby's birth certificate everyone is

[0:58] trying to find. Who is listed as the

[1:01] father? What Realel Hunter's sister is

[1:03] saying now.

[1:04] >> Will Real demand a DNA test.

[1:08] >> Happy days are here again for Ron

[1:10] Howard.

[1:11] >> I'm glad I didn't miss being here.

[1:12] >> The big series finale in tonight's ET

[1:15] time capsule. Susan Bole and Simon

[1:17] spilling secrets to Oprah.

[1:19] >> The whole world has Susan Bole fever.

[1:22] and TV's fat dancers. We've got their

[1:25] video audition.

[1:26] >> I just feel like this totally sexy woman

[1:28] trapped in this fat.

[1:30] >> Now, the most watched entertainment news

[1:33] program in the world.

[1:35] >> Hello everybody. I'm Mary Hart.

[1:37] >> And I'm Mark Steinus. Welcome to

[1:38] Entertainment Tonight.

[1:40] >> Millions watched in awe as Izzy, not

[1:43] Meredith, got married last night. But

[1:45] only we know what's next for the Grey's

[1:47] Anatomy Gang. And you are just one story

[1:49] away from that. But first, the most

[1:51] compelling real life story in the

[1:53] headlines right now. The first face

[1:55] transplant here in America tonight. She

[1:58] speaks and we have details of her

[2:00] miracle surgery.

[2:03] >> My whole face I was sliding on that last

[2:08] month before that surgery. I couldn't

[2:10] keep food in my mouth. It was terrible.

[2:13] >> Connie Culp then and now. A 22-hour

[2:17] surgery. The skin on her face still

[2:18] loose to allow for swelling.

[2:20] >> We're going to reduce this and take some

[2:24] of that away.

[2:25] >> The GMA exclusive. The talk of everyone

[2:28] including Oprah.

[2:29] >> Her husband had shot her in the face in

[2:31] an attempted murder suicide.

[2:33] >> This is Connie before then tragedy. For

[2:36] 5 years, she lived with no nose, no jaw,

[2:38] 27 surgeries just to function.

[2:41] >> And little girl said, "There's a

[2:42] monster, mommy. There's a monster." So I

[2:45] took out my driver's license. I said

[2:47] that I had a bad bad person treatment.

[2:50] >> The face transplant took place at the

[2:51] renowned Cleveland Clinic. The donor

[2:53] anonymous.

[2:54] >> How often do you think

[2:57] of the way you looked then?

[2:59] >> You know what's so funny? I was worried

[3:01] about my weight and everything. I'm

[3:02] like, that is so foolish. It don't

[3:06] matter what you look like. I want to be

[3:07] positive.

[3:08] >> But Dr. 90210's Dr. Robert Ray warns

[3:11] Connie still needs to be careful. If

[3:13] this patient fails to take a lifelong

[3:16] course of anti-rejection medication, it

[3:19] will die. But then she rot right off her

[3:21] face.

[3:22] >> And coming up, the woman behind the

[3:24] face. We have Conniey's Lost interview

[3:26] before the surgery as she talks about

[3:28] the man who tried to kill her. That is

[3:31] less than 15 minutes away.

[3:33] >> Last night on ABC, over 15 million

[3:35] watched Grey's Anatomy pull off a major

[3:38] wedding surprise, making it number one

[3:40] for the night. Izzy said, "I do."

[3:42] leaving audiences in tears. But we know

[3:45] what's next for the drama that just

[3:46] keeps shocking its fans.

[3:50] It was the surprise wedding no one saw

[3:52] coming. Instead of Meredith and Derek

[3:54] tying the knot, Izzy dawned Meredith's

[3:57] wedding gown and said I do to Alex.

[4:00] Katherine Higgel's character has brain

[4:02] cancer and Izzy had trouble walking down

[4:04] the aisle. Michael Oiello, columnist for

[4:06] Entertainment Weekly on stands now, says

[4:08] it was a wellhidden plot twist. I know

[4:11] that there was a concerted effort to try

[4:13] to prevent leaks and to try to um keep

[4:16] this as much of a surprise for viewers

[4:18] as possible.

[4:18] >> I'll pronounce you husband and wife

[4:21] >> now. Now,

[4:25] >> mayor and Dare seemed relieved they

[4:27] didn't get married, but there is that

[4:29] issue with how to cover her baby bump.

[4:31] >> Will Meredith be pregnant? You know, we

[4:32] know Ellen Pompeo uh is pregnant in real

[4:35] life. Are they going to incorporate that

[4:36] into this story line? and Sandro and

[4:39] Kevin the kids characters of Christina

[4:40] and Owen could be in for a shocker.

[4:42] >> Well, we know in the 2-hour finale that

[4:44] there's going to be a big twist coming

[4:45] for Christina and Owen. Um, we don't

[4:48] know what that twist is right now. Those

[4:50] characters are broken up.

[4:51] >> The show's creator and executive

[4:53] producer Shondaanda Rimes says she's not

[4:55] revealing any secrets, but we do know

[4:57] Izzy is now bald from her cancer

[4:59] treatments, and it doesn't bother her

[5:00] new husband at all.

[5:02] >> My wife is hot.

[5:05] I think America ran out of tissue last

[5:07] night. So, the big question is, is he

[5:10] out? Will they kill off Katherine

[5:12] Higgel? We have some major clues coming

[5:14] up in about 10 minutes.

[5:16] >> In tonight's latest news, more Farah

[5:18] Faucet details. While the 62-year-old's

[5:20] brave battle with cancer continues,

[5:22] Farah is proving she is a fighter. She

[5:25] had a manicure yesterday, was eating,

[5:27] and in good spirits. Her condition

[5:29] remains stable. Fans are leaving

[5:31] wellwishes on the charlieangels.com

[5:33] website. NBC News will broadcast Farah

[5:36] story, a documentary of her cancer

[5:38] journey. May 15th.

[5:40] Now, here are the top stories in ET's

[5:42] Wheel of Rumor. Will Keeper Sutherland's

[5:43] latest arrest affect 24? That is a

[5:46] rumor. Here's a new shot of the star

[5:47] leaving New York today. Yesterday,

[5:49] Keeper was charged with thirdderee

[5:50] assault for reportedly headbutting a

[5:52] man. The incident is not expected to

[5:54] delay filming, which is due to start

[5:55] again May 27th. Did Jennifer Hudson

[5:58] surprise her fianceƩ by proposing to

[6:00] him? That is real. The Oscar winner

[6:03] became engaged to David Otunga 5 months

[6:05] ago, but on his birthday, Jen did the

[6:08] asking and presented her bow with a 5

[6:10] karat diamond ring from star jeweler

[6:12] Neil Lane. And oh yeah, he said yes.

[6:16] Is Nicole Kidman hiding her little girl?

[6:18] Though often not seen in public, that is

[6:20] a rumor. Here is a new photo of the

[6:22] beautiful mom and her darling

[6:23] 10-month-old Sunday Rose leaving the

[6:25] play center in Tennessee.

[6:27] Is Kiana Reeves getting creepy on

[6:30] screen? That is real. The actor has

[6:32] reportedly signed on to star in Jackal,

[6:34] a movie based on the horror classic Dr.

[6:36] Jackekal and Mr. High.

[6:38] This weekend, the movie news is all

[6:40] about Star Trek trying to soar past the

[6:42] number one Wolverine. Can the young

[6:44] studs from the Starship Enterprise take

[6:47] down Jackman at the box office?

[6:49] >> It's Jim. Jim Kirk,

[6:51] >> the captain trying to pick up Uhura.

[6:53] >> He's got a talented tongue. It's a new

[6:55] attitude for the new Star Trek.

[6:57] >> How did you manage to beam aboard this

[6:59] ship? Hey, you're the genius. You figure

[7:00] it out.

[7:00] >> Rave reviews have reached warp speed.

[7:03] The New York Times describes it as a

[7:05] quote, "Fully loaded film, a showcase

[7:07] for hardware muscled boys."

[7:09] >> Hey, farm boys.

[7:11] >> But you Jackman's Wolverine stays sharp.

[7:14] The film has earned some $179 million

[7:17] worldwide in its first week. Now,

[7:20] Jackman's co-star Ryan Reynolds is

[7:21] getting a spin-off with his Deadpool

[7:23] character. Va Andrews got his reaction.

[7:26] >> Somebody I wanted to play my my my whole

[7:28] adult life. So, uh, it's a bit of a

[7:30] dream come true.

[7:31] >> So, now he and wife Scarlett Johansson

[7:34] will both be playing villains on the big

[7:35] screen. She's suiting up as Black Widow

[7:37] in Iron Man 2.

[7:38] >> There's no chance you and she might be

[7:40] uh,

[7:41] you know, fighting in one of in this up.

[7:43] >> I don't know if you'll see it on the big

[7:44] screen, per se.

[7:46] But before Ryan returns to Action Epics,

[7:49] he stars in The Proposal opening June

[7:51] 19th. He is Sandra Bulock's assistant.

[7:53] She needs a green card. He is available.

[7:57] >> Oh my god.

[7:58] >> Why are you

[8:00] >> Ryan hosted a special screening of the

[8:01] comedy for Yes. male assistance.

[8:04] >> Let's get these pants off.

[8:06] >> And for more with Ryan, check out ET on

[8:08] MSN at etn.com.

[18:30] Bundle with Quest. Call 866-450-7009.

[18:36] >> The competition was intense and after

[18:38] more than 450,000 votes, congratulations

[18:40] Conquered Elementary in Milwaukee.

[18:42] You're the winner of the Bats of

[18:43] Furniture Ultimate Teachers Retreat.

[18:45] Watch Coin Local 6 May 21st between 7

[18:47] and 8:00 p.m. when we reveal the

[18:49] Ultimate Teachers Retreat.

[18:52] What year did Happy Days call it quit?

[18:54] >> I was there at the beginning and I'm

[18:56] glad I got to be there at the end. It

[18:59] was 1984.

[19:01] And tonight on CBS's Numbers, watch the

[19:03] Bonds Henry Winkler in an entirely

[19:05] different role.

[19:06] >> He's a disgraced ex FBI agent trying to

[19:09] single-handedly thwart a bank robbery.

[19:11] >> I'm trying to repair my reputation by

[19:14] catching the bad guys.

[19:17] >> The 2-hour season finale of Grey's

[19:19] Anatomy is just one week away, but what

[19:21] will happen to our Izzy Stevens?

[19:23] Katherine Higgel certainly got a juicy

[19:25] role this season, but is it her last? We

[19:28] have clues.

[19:31] >> Go away. I want to be alone with my

[19:34] husband.

[19:34] >> Izzy said goodbye to her visions of dead

[19:36] boyfriend Denny. But could he be the

[19:38] crib weaver? Maybe yes, maybe no.

[19:40] Because in the preview for next week, it

[19:42] seems brain surgeon Derek is offering

[19:44] some hope.

[19:45] >> She has a tumor and it can be treated.

[19:46] >> If you do the surgery, I could lose my

[19:48] memory.

[19:48] >> Izzy with amnesia. There's been buzz for

[19:51] months that Katherine Higgel wanted out,

[19:53] but recently said she wants to stay as

[19:55] long as they wanted her. In February,

[19:57] when Hollywood.tv asked her about her

[19:58] future, she was mom.

[20:00] >> Is it true that you quit Gray's Anatomy?

[20:02] >> Last year, Higgel withdrew her name for

[20:04] Emmy contention because she didn't think

[20:06] her material was worthy. But her cancer

[20:08] storyline may have caused her to rethink

[20:10] possibly leaving.

[20:11] >> I'm going to die either way. I'd be

[20:13] shocked if Catherine takes her name out

[20:15] of the running for Damia. She's actually

[20:16] had some great work this season and she

[20:18] may even get a nomination.

[20:20] >> Now, as for McDreamie and Meredith, will

[20:22] they ever walk down the aisle? and we

[20:24] will see how many more clues we can ek

[20:26] out before next Thursday's 2-hour season

[20:28] finale on ABC.

[20:31] >> Now, the other story captivating the

[20:33] headlines, Elizabeth Edwards on the

[20:35] record about her husband's affair, but

[20:38] is Reel Hunter's baby his? Kevin Frasier

[20:41] uncovers the birth certificate.

[20:44] >> She's the one-year-old girl in the

[20:46] middle of a controversy believed by many

[20:48] to be Real's love child with John

[20:50] Edwards. But here's her birth

[20:52] certificate. First name Francis, last

[20:54] name Hunter. The space for the father's

[20:56] name, it's blank. Realel Hunter has said

[20:59] she did not want a DNA test, but new

[21:02] reports claim she has changed her mind.

[21:05] Has she moved past that now that she

[21:07] wants to fill that blanket on the birth

[21:09] certificate?

[21:10] >> She hasn't expressed that specifically

[21:12] to me.

[21:12] >> Will Real demand a DNA test?

[21:16] >> Melissa doesn't know and says now the

[21:19] family's main focus is Francis. When you

[21:22] look at the baby, what do you think of

[21:23] the baby?

[21:24] >> Adorable.

[21:25] >> Yeah.

[21:26] >> Mhm.

[21:26] >> What kind of B?

[21:27] >> She's a bright light. She's just so

[21:30] adorable that everybody thinks she's

[21:33] just amazing.

[21:35] >> Elizabeth Edward's appearance on Oprah

[21:37] and her new book have stirred up a

[21:39] situation that had seemed to be fading

[21:41] away.

[21:42] >> What did she express to you about John

[21:44] and her relationship with John?

[21:46] >> I mean, you know, she loved him. And now

[21:48] Melissa has stepped in to defend her

[21:51] sister.

[21:51] >> In her book, Elizabeth Edwards described

[21:53] her as having a pathetic life.

[21:56] >> I don't think my sister's pathetic. You

[21:59] know, it takes two to tango. My sister

[22:01] definitely wasn't trying to go into it

[22:04] to hurt her. I mean, it it just

[22:06] happened. Just because she did this one

[22:08] thing doesn't mean she's a bad person.

[22:12] Now, as for Elizabeth's inspiring and

[22:15] insightful book, it is already number 11

[22:17] on Amazon.com's bestsellers list.

[22:21] >> It is the miraculous story of modern

[22:24] medicine, a face transplant. But who is

[22:26] the woman behind the face? And how did

[22:28] she get to be where she is today?

[22:32] >> I saw what I looked like and

[22:35] you know, I really don't like for him to

[22:37] pass up cuz

[22:39] >> I want to get over that. You know what I

[22:41] mean? Connie Culp before the miracle

[22:44] transplant remembering the moment her

[22:45] husband tore her life apart with a

[22:47] gunshot.

[22:48] >> Actually, you're in shock and

[22:52] all you're thinking, "Wow, I can't

[22:55] believe it."

[22:56] >> This interview from 2008 telling Wob

[23:00] Television how she essentially lost her

[23:02] sight.

[23:03] >> What of me can you see?

[23:04] >> I can't even tell you. You're shattered

[23:06] right now. I know you have dark hair and

[23:08] I can't tell anything else right now.

[23:10] Every part of her life has been

[23:12] affected.

[23:13] >> I heard every day like the cool weather

[23:16] kills me and I cannot smell and I'll

[23:18] never be able to smell.

[23:20] >> Today, her husband Thomas Culp is in

[23:23] prison. Amazingly, back then, Connie was

[23:26] forgiving.

[23:26] >> I always love him. He He was my first

[23:30] love. I forgive him, but you know, I got

[23:33] to go on. You know,

[23:34] >> there will be a day when he's released

[23:36] from from prison.

[23:38] >> We don't want to go there. Okay. Surgery

[23:41] has restored her face, but her spirit

[23:43] and optimism always remained strong

[23:45] despite the horrors she was forced to

[23:48] face.

[23:48] >> Keep motivated and

[23:51] just don't sweep your life away cuz

[23:53] that's what could have happened. You

[23:55] know, I could be depressed about it

[23:57] everybody and you know,

[23:59] >> but I'm not.

[24:01] >> And there is still so much more we don't

[24:03] know about Connie, but on Monday we

[24:06] will. The face transplant miracle

[24:08] returns home. Then Farrah Faucet.

[24:11] Breaking news. The doctor secretly flown

[24:13] to LA. Can a new treatment save her?

[24:16] >> Dr. Yakob. Farah has a great deal of

[24:18] trust in her. As Farah shaves her head,

[24:20] her best friend reveals new details from

[24:22] her documentary.

[24:23] >> When I see her crying, it makes me

[24:25] certainly want to put the camera down.

[24:27] Plus, Oprah's tears for her dying dog.

[24:30] That's Monday. Back in seconds with

[24:32] Valerie Burtonelli braving a backless

[24:35] bathing suit. Oh my gosh, she looks so

[24:37] good. We have the new shots coming up in

[24:40] our next story.

[24:47] In tonight's Entertainment Tonight

[24:48] Capital 1 birthdays, which award-winning

[25:21] something in return with candy, perfume,

[25:24] and Hallmark cards.

[25:25] >> Thanks, Mom.

[25:26] >> Walgreens is your one stop this Mother's

[25:29] Day for the one who matters most.

[25:36] It seems like a great price, but I

[25:37] better make sure.

[25:39] >> Who are they?

[25:40] >> They're my low price search party. They

[25:42] help me find the best deals.

[25:45] >> Or we could just step over to the Sears

[25:46] Appliance Research Center and check the

[25:47] competition's prices to make sure you're

[25:49] getting the lowest price possible.

[25:51] >> We'll be in the food court.

[25:53] >> We find the lowest prices, then we beat

[25:55] them. Now through Friday, save 15% on

[26:04] >> A local woman and her kids held hostage

[26:07] by her neighbor.

[26:08] >> I heard the shot and then I realized he

[26:27] how they say she got rid of his body.

[26:30] I've got details on the one significant

[26:32] change to the forecast.

[26:34] >> For some, it's hands in the earth. The

[26:37] joy of bringing beauty to life.

[26:41] For others, it's a moment of instant

[26:44] color.

[26:47] And for others, it's the joy of making

[26:50] the outdoors part of the way you live,

[26:52] part of your home.

[26:56] You'll find what you need at Fred

[26:58] Meyers.

[27:05] I'm in the kitchen. I've got the blender

[27:08] on. I'm making milkshakes. I make them

[27:39] out. Come on.

[27:50] >> Wiggle your day with jello sugar-free

[27:52] gelatin.

[27:55] >> It's 10 tasty calories. Loved by lips

[27:57] and hips alike.

[28:00] >> Jello. Because every diet needs a little

[28:02] wiggle room.

[28:04] >> There's something big happening at

[28:53] In tonight's Entertainment Tonight,

[28:55] Capital One birthdays, which

[28:56] award-winning actress was set up with

[28:58] her future husband by his ex-wife?

[29:00] >> That is Melissa Gilbert, who today turns

[29:03] 45. Hey, Melissa, what's in your wallet?

[29:06] In tonight's DT alert, Valerie grins and

[29:09] bears it.

[29:10] >> Ah, summer. Time for swimsuits, shorts,

[29:14] tank tops, and a massive attack of

[29:16] insecurity.

[29:17] >> No insecurity anymore as Val sports a

[29:19] daring purple backless number for her

[29:21] latest Jenny Craig spot.

[29:23] >> And action.

[29:25] >> It's been a year and a half since I lost

[29:28] 40 lbs with Jenny Craig. That's 40 lb in

[29:31] counting and more confident than ever. I

[29:33] used to go to ridiculous lengths to hide

[29:36] my body, but not anymore. The new ad

[29:38] titled Obstacles begins airing Monday.

[29:41] >> Wow, she really looks great, doesn't

[29:43] she?

[29:44] >> Absolutely, Mark. But I think I just

[29:46] heard Kirsty Ally screaming again. You

[29:49] go Kirsty, we are totally behind you and

[29:51] your weight loss. And that's it for us

[29:53] for the week. Hope you have a great

[29:55] night and a great weekend.

[29:56] >> Bye-bye.

[29:59] >> Common item that must be kept out of

[30:01] phto's reach. Coin Local 6 tonight at

[30:03] 11.

[30:06] >> Well, Bruce Susman here. I'll about tell

[30:07] you about the TV stations off the air

[30:09] because of severe storms where that

[30:11] happened. Plus, the one change to our

[30:13] weekend warmup. And what a gorgeous

[30:15] night. Wait till you see the way the

[30:17] sunsets went down. You will at 11:00.

[30:20] All right, guys. Time out. What have you

[30:21] got? Throw it away because now I have

[30:23] Come take a test drive with Mr. Billy D.

[30:26] Williams.

[30:28] Smooth

[30:30] gets them every time.

[30:32] >> Richard, come to edit office, please.

[30:34] Richard, edit office.

[30:36] >> Why, Billy D? It's not about being

[30:38] smooth.

[30:38] >> Yeah, but Billy D could give people

[30:40] dates. No, it's about putting people in

[30:42] a car they love.

[30:44] >> Some of us wouldn't mind a date here and

[30:45] there.

[30:47] >> Talking for the love of cars.

[30:50] >> Guess they heard it's hot off the grill

[30:52] at Hometown Buffet. Five great new entre

[30:55] like applewood bacon wrapped sirloin,

[30:56] grilled barbecue pork steak, and more.

[30:59] Try a new hot off the grill flavor every

[31:01] night. Only at Hometown Buffet, Monday

[31:03] through Saturday nights.

[31:11] The next, Brad and George, the men of

[31:14] Star Trek and their overnight

[31:15] transformation into Hollywood's new it

[31:17] guys.

[31:18] >> Ladies, watch out.

[31:19] >> Captain Kirk uncovered. Is he single?

[31:22] Captain Kirk's dad beamed into our set

[31:24] today. So, are you ready for all this?

[31:27] >> Fingers crossed, man.

[31:29] >> Today's big rumors. The Twilight stars

[31:32] busted again on a date. Brianna forced

[31:34] to change outfits after Madonna threw a

[31:36] hissy fit.

[31:38] >> New John and K drama. Is the cheating

[31:40] scandal a giant publicity stunt?

[31:42] >> You have to wait and find out.

[31:44] >> Beast charged with her slaying.

[31:46] >> His two-year obsession. How he followed

[31:48] her across the country. Then the brave

[31:51] face transplant woman applying makeup

[31:54] and what she's saying today about the

[31:56] husband who shot her.

[31:58] >> Do you forgive him?

[31:59] >> And a man's desperate battle to save his

[32:02] home and what it's like to be trapped

[32:04] inside the ring of fire.

[32:06] >> I'm right now trapped by a firestorm.

[32:08] >> Plus, Valerie Burtonelli behind the

[32:11] scenes for her sexy new swimsuit shoot.

[32:13] >> I gained confidence. And she's pregnant

[32:17] with a monkey faking a pregnancy to

[32:20] smuggle in a wild monkey.

[32:22] >> Was it difficult to get through

[32:23] screening?

[32:24] >> No.

[32:24] >> Hidden under her shirt just like this.

[32:27] Then are these beauty queens ganging up

[32:30] on the embattled Miss California?

[32:32] >> We also have the right to voice our

[32:34] opinion.

[32:35] >> And first video, the famous fashion

[32:38] designer allegedly headbutted by Kefir

[32:40] Southerntherland.

[32:42] Plus, who's the superstar carried across

[32:45] a puddle because she doesn't want to get

[32:47] her shoes wet.

[32:52] >> Now, Inside Edition with Deborah

[32:54] Norville.

[32:55] >> Hello everybody and thank you for

[32:56] joining us. We're learning more about

[32:58] where the man under arrest for the

[33:00] brutal murder of a promising young co-ed

[33:02] at Wesian University was hiding after

[33:04] the crime. The 21-year-old victim was

[33:06] gunned down while working at a college

[33:08] bookstore. her alleged asalent, a man

[33:10] who police say had a deadly obsession.

[33:14] >> He's the obsessed man accused of killing

[33:16] a beautiful college co-ed and he's now

[33:18] behind bars.

[33:20] >> The case of state of Connecticut versus

[33:21] Steven Morgan.

[33:22] >> 29-year-old Steven Morgan is now facing

[33:24] first-degree murder charges, appearing

[33:27] in court Friday wearing a blue zippered

[33:29] jumpsuit. Hours earlier, Morgan

[33:31] surrendered to police, ending the

[33:33] massive nationwide manhunt for the

[33:35] gunman accused of shooting Johanna

[33:37] Justin Jennick, a junior at prestigious

[33:39] Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

[33:42] Morgan turned himself in at this

[33:44] convenience store 10 miles from the

[33:46] Wesleyan campus after seeing his picture

[33:48] on the front page of a newspaper.

[33:50] >> He started walking around the store. He

[33:52] bought a drink. He checked the

[33:54] newspapers. And then he asked me to use

[33:57] the phone. Before he surrendered,

[33:59] Morgan's sister urged her brother to

[34:01] turn himself in.

[34:02] >> Steve, turn yourself in right now to any

[34:05] law enforcement agency, wherever you

[34:07] are, to avoid any further bloodshed.

[34:11] We love you. We will support you in

[34:13] every way, and we don't want anyone else

[34:14] to get hurt.

[34:15] >> His family appeared distraught outside

[34:17] court.

[34:18] >> His family is devastated by the

[34:20] accusation, devastated by the claims.

[34:23] Morgan is accused of shooting

[34:24] 21-year-old Johanna point blank seven

[34:27] times while she was working in a cafe

[34:30] inside a campus bookstore. Surveillance

[34:32] photos show Morgan holding a gun and

[34:34] wearing glasses, leaving the bookstore

[34:37] after the shooting. Shockingly, police

[34:39] say Morgan didn't flee the scene and

[34:41] chatted with cops outside the bookstore,

[34:44] even giving them his real name and phone

[34:47] number. But Morgan wasn't considered a

[34:49] suspect until police discovered he had a

[34:51] dark obsession with Johanna that began

[34:54] two years ago while they were both

[34:56] taking summer courses at NYU. According

[34:58] to police, he began bombarding the

[35:00] beauty with threatening emails, writing,

[35:02] "You're going to have a lot more

[35:03] problems down the road." Johanna

[35:06] reported Morgan to police, but chose not

[35:08] to press charges. Here's Megan

[35:10] Alexander. This is a motel room just

[35:12] like the one where Morgan was hiding out

[35:14] during the nationwide manhunt to find

[35:16] him. Inside, police say they discovered

[35:18] disturbing evidence that links him to

[35:20] Johanna's death, including a journal

[35:23] with entries outlining a plot to rape

[35:25] and murder her.

[35:26] >> Cops say he wrote, "Kill Johanna, she

[35:29] must die." Morgan also reportedly wrote

[35:31] he wanted to turn Wesleian into the

[35:33] Jewish Coline. I think it okay to kill

[35:36] Jews and go on a killing spree at this

[35:39] school. Today, the Wesleyan community is

[35:41] breathing a sigh of relief that the

[35:42] accused killer is behind bars, but

[35:45] they're still mourning the loss of the

[35:46] smart, very loving, kind-hearted girl,

[35:49] an apparent victim of a deadly

[35:51] obsession.

[35:54] >> A memorial service for the victim was

[35:55] held on campus Friday afternoon. Days

[35:58] after the world's first near total face

[36:00] transplant patient made her first public

[36:02] appearance, Connie Culp is now speaking

[36:04] out. And to the surprise of many, she

[36:06] says she still loves the man who so

[36:08] horribly disfigured her. Dian

[36:10] McCannernney has more.

[36:12] >> I still love my husband. I can't talk

[36:15] about him. Okay.

[36:16] >> Astonishing words from the woman who got

[36:18] the world's first near total face

[36:20] transplant. A profession of devotion to

[36:23] the man who shot her point blank in the

[36:25] face with a shotgun.

[36:26] >> I forgive them the day you did it. I

[36:30] have to. How? How could you?

[36:34] >> I don't know.

[36:35] >> Connie Culp told Diane Sawyer all about

[36:37] her relationship with Thomas Culp,

[36:40] currently serving a 7-year jail term for

[36:42] attempted murder. He'll be out in 2011.

[36:46] >> We had good times and bad times will

[36:48] just leave her.

[36:49] >> Now, brace yourself for a shocker about

[36:51] the man who pulled the trigger.

[36:53] >> He still loves her.

[36:54] >> Chris Amato is Thomas Culp's lawyer. He

[36:56] says the Culps were childhood

[36:58] sweethearts. Do they have plans to

[37:01] reunite once he gets out of jail?

[37:03] >> I believe Tom still wants to be with

[37:04] her. Yes.

[37:05] >> Connie is still getting used to taking

[37:07] care of her new face. Even behind bars,

[37:10] her husband is aware of all that's

[37:12] happening. Has he seen her new face?

[37:15] >> He saw it on the news.

[37:16] >> And what went through his mind?

[37:18] >> He told me she looked beautiful. He was

[37:20] glad for her.

[37:21] >> How does he live with himself knowing

[37:22] that he shot his wife?

[37:25] >> You know, it's a struggle for him every

[37:26] day. He's He's completely sorry for what

[37:28] he's done.

[37:29] >> See, I can't feel that.

[37:31] >> Mhm.

[37:31] >> There's still numb yet.

[37:33] >> Connie underwent the 22-hour operation

[37:35] last December, and there's still a long

[37:38] way to go on the road to recovery.

[37:40] >> We're going to reduce

[37:42] this and take some of that away.

[37:45] >> After all she's been through, Connie

[37:47] Culp knows just how precious life is. I

[37:50] always hug everybody before I leave them

[37:53] because you never know you're going to

[37:54] see that person again.

[37:59] >> A tense situation in Southern California

[38:01] when wildfires spread dangerously close

[38:04] to the city of Santa Barbara, forcing

[38:05] the evacuation of more than 30,000

[38:07] people and a group of people got caught

[38:10] inside a ring of fire caused by those

[38:12] wind whip flames. Jim Marray is there.

[38:15] You're looking at dramatic new video

[38:16] from the heart of the wildfire causing

[38:19] havoc in Southern California. It was

[38:21] shot inside a ring of fire with flames

[38:24] on both sides of the road by retired

[38:26] fire captain John Zimmerman.

[38:29] >> Superheated uh air and gases come over

[38:32] the top. We call them deadly fingers of

[38:34] flame.

[38:35] >> This homeowner is desperately battling

[38:37] the blaze on the roof of his house. The

[38:39] heat here is enormous. We're standing

[38:42] just feet away from what was once a

[38:44] beautiful Spanish villa up in the hills

[38:46] of Santa Barbara. The house is

[38:48] completely gutted and I can feel the

[38:50] side of my body being burned. We have to

[38:53] move downhill. Radio reporter John

[38:55] Brooks was trapped inside the ring of

[38:58] fire.

[38:58] >> I'm right now trapped by a firestorm.

[39:00] Flames 30, 40 ft high. Smoke billowing

[39:04] off the top of the the ridge itself.

[39:06] There there is just flames in all

[39:08] directions right now. And look, the

[39:11] White House released this stunning shot

[39:12] of Air Force One flying over the Statue

[39:15] of Liberty.

[39:18] It's from that photo op that triggered

[39:20] panic in New York last month when Air

[39:22] Force One and a fighter jet flew low

[39:25] over Manhattan. The White House aid

[39:27] responsible for the snafu announced

[39:29] Friday that he's resigning.

[39:32] >> Authorities in Illinois have made an

[39:34] arrest in the death of the third wife of

[39:36] former policeman Drew Peterson. Peterson

[39:38] was arrested and charged with the murder

[39:40] of Kathleen Savio. And video of Peterson

[39:43] in custody shows he is still cracking

[39:45] jokes. A shackled Drew Peterson dressed

[39:49] in a red jumpsuit cackles up at the sky

[39:52] as he's led into an Illinois courtroom

[39:54] for his arraignment Friday on murder

[39:56] charges. He yelled to reporters, "Look

[39:58] at this bling. Look at this nice spiffy

[40:00] outfit. Three squares a day." Meanwhile,

[40:03] we're learning more about what led to

[40:05] Peterson's sudden arrest. The notorious

[40:08] ex- cop was about to fly to Reno, Nevada

[40:10] to appear on an HBO series being shot at

[40:13] a brothel.

[40:15] Police were reportedly concerned

[40:17] Peterson could flee the country from

[40:19] Reno.

[40:20] >> They were afraid he was a flight risk.

[40:22] >> Dennis Hoff owns the Moonlight Bunny

[40:24] Ranch. He hired Peterson to work

[40:26] security as a publicity stunt, but HBO

[40:29] was less than thrilled, saying the

[40:31] network would rather cancel the show Cat

[40:33] House than have Peterson appear. Come

[40:36] on, Dennis. You knew that this guy was

[40:38] under investigation possibly for

[40:40] murdering his third wife and you still

[40:42] wanted to essentially go into business

[40:44] with him.

[40:44] >> You know, he wasn't indicted. He wasn't

[40:46] convicted. Of course, now all that's

[40:48] changed.

[40:49] >> Peterson kept up his smurky jokester

[40:51] personality to the very end, telling

[40:53] cops as he was handcuffed, "I guess I

[40:56] should have returned those library

[40:57] books." His arrest in the drowning death

[41:00] of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, from

[41:02] 5 years ago was news the whole nation

[41:05] had been waiting for.

[41:06] >> After years of watching Drew Peterson

[41:09] give those smiling interviews to

[41:11] everyone, police have made their move.

[41:12] >> Now with the arrest, maybe that smirk

[41:15] will finally be wiped off Peterson's

[41:17] face for good.

[41:19] >> The death of Peterson's wife was

[41:21] originally thought to be an accident.

[41:23] Peterson has always maintained his

[41:24] innocence in that death as well as the

[41:26] disappearance of his fourth wife.

[41:28] Earlier this year, Valerie Burtonelli

[41:30] appeared in a bikini and now she's back.

[41:32] This time in a one piece bathing suit

[41:34] for a new ad.

[41:36] >> Check out Valerie Burtonelli behind the

[41:38] scenes shooting her hot new TV ad. I

[41:41] lost the weight and I gained confidence.

[41:43] The 49-year-old actress shows off her

[41:45] beach bod in a bathing suit in this new

[41:47] ad for Jenny Craig. Unlike the now

[41:49] famous commercial showing Valerie in a

[41:51] bikini, this time she's in a one piece

[41:54] and she still looks great. Valerie says

[41:56] she lost 40 pounds in nine months. And

[45:32] >> Our Miss California pageant officials

[45:33] ganging up on their beauty queen from

[45:36] her inflammatory answer to that onstage

[45:38] question and those racy underwear

[45:39] photos. Some fans of Carrie Pjon think

[45:42] that some people are trying to force her

[45:44] to give up her crown.

[45:45] >> I believe every Californian has a right

[45:47] to their opinion. Are California's

[45:49] beauty queens ganging up on the

[45:50] embattled Miss California? Pageant

[45:53] organizers have gathered current and

[45:55] former beauty queens to film a public

[45:57] service announcement celebrating

[45:59] diversity. I believe in love.

[46:01] >> They say Miss California Carrie Pjon was

[46:04] invited to take part, but she was a

[46:06] no-show. The television spot seems to

[46:08] contain some not so veiled barbs against

[46:10] her, including this one taped by former

[46:13] MissUSA Shaina Mler. I believe when I

[46:15] express my opinion, I have a

[46:17] responsibility to do it in a way that

[46:19] respects others who may not agree. We

[46:21] also have the right to voice our

[46:22] opinion.

[46:23] >> And this from former Miss Universe

[46:25] Brooke Lee, who also took part in the

[46:27] television ad.

[46:28] >> Any message other than the message

[46:29] that's been sort of on point lately um

[46:32] is probably a good message. You know,

[46:34] the kindler, gentler California.

[46:35] >> This California supporters believe she's

[46:37] being targeted because she allowed her

[46:39] image to be used in a television ad

[46:41] supporting traditional marriage. I

[46:43] believe that a marriage should be

[46:45] between a man and a woman. No offense to

[46:47] anybody out there.

[46:48] >> Meanwhile, we caught up with the runner

[46:49] up to Miss California who will have to

[46:51] take Carrie Pjon's place if she gets

[46:53] stripped of her crown for those racy

[46:56] lingerie photos.

[46:57] >> If I do step into her place, I'm going

[46:58] to be stepping into the line of fire.

[47:00] And I just feel like it's not really my

[47:02] battle to fight because I don't think

[47:04] there's any way that anyone's really

[47:05] going to win with the whole situation.

[47:08] >> Miss Bjan says she didn't participate in

[47:10] the public service announcement because

[47:11] she had a previous commitment. Now, call

[47:13] us at 8002962446

[47:16] for our question today. Do you think the

[47:18] beauty queens are ganging up on Miss

[47:19] California? We want to know your

[47:21] opinion. And here's something you don't

[47:23] hear every day. She was pregnant with a

[47:26] monkey. Well, actually, she was faking

[47:28] the pregnant part, but that's all so she

[47:29] could smuggle a monkey into the country

[47:31] under her maternity top. Let's try with

[47:34] the story of one of the most brazen

[47:35] animal trafficking situations we've ever

[47:38] reported.

[47:40] She looks like any other beaming mom to

[47:42] be, cradling her baby bump, awaiting the

[47:45] delivery of her little bundle of joy.

[47:47] But that's not really a baby bump. And

[47:49] this woman isn't even pregnant.

[47:52] So, what is that under her shirt? It's

[47:55] actually a monkey. The woman was hiding

[47:57] the animal, pretending to be pregnant so

[48:00] she could smuggle it into the country.

[48:02] When she arrived home, out popped the

[48:04] primate just like this.

[48:06] >> Was it easy to do? I guess Homeland

[48:08] Security

[48:10] is not what it's cracked up to be. No.

[48:12] Um I wasn't surprised and it was

[48:13] extremely easy.

[48:14] >> The monkey smuggler whose name is Gypsy

[48:16] Lawson is speaking exclusively to our

[48:19] Jim Marray.

[48:20] >> And you just walked through and they

[48:22] weren't able to detect anything unusual?

[48:24] >> No.

[48:25] >> Was it difficult to get through

[48:26] screening?

[48:27] >> No.

[48:28] >> They patted you down and did they feel

[48:29] the monkey?

[48:30] >> He fried against me. He was about this

[48:32] big.

[48:33] >> It started when Lawson and her mother

[48:35] went to Thailand on vacation. While

[48:37] there, they saw the monkey, only two

[48:39] months old, trapped in a tiny cage. She

[48:42] says she was told as soon as he got

[48:44] bigger, he'd be slaughtered for food.

[48:46] So, she paid 20 bucks to buy him. She

[48:49] named him Apoo and hatched a plan to

[48:51] bring the monkey home. She drugged him

[48:54] to keep him still and then tucked him

[48:56] under her shirt and passed right through

[48:59] airport security in four different

[49:01] countries, including US customs at Los

[49:03] Angeles International Airport. Safe at

[49:06] home in Spokane, Washington, having

[49:08] pulled off her monkey caper, Lost and

[49:11] treated Apoo like her own child. But

[49:13] someone snitched on her and she was

[49:16] arrested.

[49:17] >> You understand how people would be

[49:19] shocked.

[49:20] >> Yeah.

[49:21] >> And here is the monkey today living in a

[49:23] sanctuary in Oregon. Here he jumps and

[49:26] plays like most toddlers, hugging his

[49:28] favorite stuffed animal. And like most

[49:30] children, he hates bath time. Paulie

[49:33] Schultz of the Oregon Primate Rescue now

[49:36] cares for Apoo.

[49:37] >> He's under your shirt now. This is

[49:39] theoretically how he was brought into

[49:41] the country.

[49:42] >> Schultz says bringing a wild monkey into

[49:44] the US could have endangered the public.

[49:46] >> What kind of diseases could he have

[49:48] carried?

[49:48] >> He could have carried TB, um herpes B

[49:51] virus, um different types of malaria,

[49:55] >> and would those be transmitted to

[49:57] humans?

[49:58] >> Absolutely.

[49:59] >> Fortunately, the monkey was

[50:00] disease-free. But Apoo does have

[50:02] tremors, something we noticed during our

[50:05] visit. The feds believe they are the

[50:07] result of being drugged by Lawson.

[50:09] Lawson was convicted of felony smuggling

[50:11] and got 60 days in prison. She's

[50:14] appealing her conviction and maintains

[50:16] she did the right thing.

[50:18] >> Did you know that what you were doing

[50:20] was wrong?

[50:21] >> Legally wrong, not morally wrong.

[50:25] >> The man who police say was the victim of

[50:27] assault by Keeper Thlin is out and about

[50:35] Fashion designer Jack McCulla wears a

[50:38] bandage over his nose where he says the

[50:40] 24 star headbutted him. His nose was

[50:43] broken in three places. Southerntherland

[50:45] has been charged with assault.

[50:47] >> We want to see people go to jail.

[50:48] >> Outside his office in New York City,

[50:51] McCulla didn't want to talk when asked

[50:53] about Southerntherland. So, how is he

[50:54] feeling? down.

[52:34] >> Here's another Money Matters tip from

[52:36] Onpoint Community Credit Union.

[52:38] >> It's true. Credit cards can make life a

[52:40] little easier. You have to have one to

[52:42] buy anything online, and they're a great

[52:44] way to start building a good credit

[52:45] score. But credit cards can also make

[52:47] your life a nightmare. So, here's what

[52:49] you need to know. When picking a card,

[52:51] be sure to check into the annual

[52:52] percentage rate and fees. Not all credit

[52:55] cards are alike, so don't just sign up

[52:56] for the first one someone offers you.

[52:58] Ask your credit union rep for your best

[53:00] options. When you do get your card, make

[53:02] sure you always pay on time. Those late

[53:04] fees can really start to rack up. And if

[53:06] you miss a payment, the interest rate

[53:08] you pay could skyrocket. If you think

[53:10] about it, those shoes that were on sale

[53:12] aren't such a bargain after you wind up

[53:13] paying months of additional interest and

[53:15] late fees. Remember, the most important

[53:17] thing you'll ever do with your finances

[53:19] is to take control of your buying on

[53:21] credit.

[53:53] >> Something old, something new, something

[53:54] borrowed, something blue. Meet the bride

[53:56] who can take at least two of those off

[53:58] with one dress. A dress that she'll be

[54:00] the fourth member of her family to wear.

[54:03] A bride sparkles in a classic vintage

[54:05] gown. A gown that may look familiar to

[54:08] some of her guests.

[54:10] You see, Margaret Kenig isn't the first

[54:12] woman in her family to wear the dress.

[54:14] She's the fourth. Her mom wore the dress

[54:17] on her wedding day. Before that, her

[54:19] great aunt wore it. And before that, her

[54:22] grandma wore the dress when she got

[54:24] married. Four women, one dress.

[54:27] >> Oh, it looks just super like the day I

[54:29] bought it. The elegant beaded gown was

[54:31] first worn by 86-year-old Maxine at her

[54:34] wedding in 1946. She paid just $75 for

[54:38] it.

[54:39] >> It was the first dress I saw and I loved

[54:41] it.

[54:42] >> She passed it on to her sister, Marian.

[54:44] >> I was married May 7th, 1949.

[54:48] >> 20 years later, the gown was passed on

[54:50] again to Marian's niece. And when it

[54:52] came time for her daughter to get

[54:54] married, there was no question what she

[54:56] would wear. All these women had such

[54:58] great happiness and I wanted to be a

[55:01] part of it.

[55:02] >> Margaret looks stunning at her beach

[55:04] wedding as she says I do to her marine

[55:07] husband.

[55:09] >> And she hopes one day the gown will take

[55:11] a fifth walk down the aisle. I would

[55:14] love for my daughter to wear the dress.

[55:17] So would we. When we come back, who's

[55:19] the superstar carried across a puddle by

[55:21] a bodyguard?
