[0:01] The Emmy Awards. We're backstage with
[0:03] the stars. Next, ET.
[0:07] The US puts more bombs, more troops,
[0:10] more confidence into the war in
[0:11] Afghanistan as bunker busters strike the
[0:14] Taliban. A new prediction. It won't take
[0:18] years to win. Airports everywhere are
[0:21] supposed to be on high alert. Yet a man
[0:24] apparently got knives and a stun gun
[0:27] past what is supposed to be security.
[0:30] New ideas about an anthrax mystery. How
[0:32] did Kathy Win get the disease? And Eye
[0:36] on America. Suitcase nuclear bombs.
[0:40] Relics of the Cold War. Could they fall
[0:42] into terrorist hands?

[0:49] This is the CBS Evening News with Dan
[0:53] Rather reporting from CBS News

[1:14] northern Afghanistan, and encouraging
[1:16] opponents of the Taliban in the south,
[1:18] where the picture is hazier. We have
[1:21] reports on all of this for you tonight,
[1:22] beginning with CBS News national
[1:24] security correspondent David Martin.
[1:27] The bombing of Taliban front lines
[1:29] continues to gather steam as the US
[1:31] started using a 15,000lb bomb so big it
[1:35] is carried by a cargo plane and so
[1:37] powerful a parachute is used to slow its
[1:40] fall so the aircraft has time to escape
[1:42] the blast effect. US has also
[1:45] infiltrated more special operations
[1:46] forces into northern Afghanistan roughly
[1:49] doubling the number
