[0:08] Welcome everybody. Breaking news at this
[0:11] hour. Ike is huge. A category 2
[0:14] hurricane right now. But a 700 mile wide
[0:18] monster that on the maps looks big
[0:20] enough to swallow all of Texas. The
[0:22] government is warning that anybody still
[0:24] in Ike's path should find a safe place
[0:27] to hide. Here's what we know right now.
[0:29] Ike is about 100 miles from Galveastston
[0:32] with steady winds of 110 mph. It's
[0:34] expected to come ashore overnight. Life
[0:37] and death dramas seem to be everywhere.
[0:39] Rescues like this one of a stranded
[0:41] driver being airlifted to safety. Well,
[0:43] they've been going on for hours now. We
[0:45] are also watching a freighter that is
[0:48] stranded in the Gulf of Mexico right in
[0:50] Ike's path. There are 22 people on board
[0:53] that freighter. The Coast Guard tried a
[0:55] rescue earlier and was not successful.
[0:58] And now the Coast Guard says it is too
[1:00] dangerous to try again. Take a look. The
[1:04] size of this storm has stunned even
[1:05] veteran hurricane watchers. You can see
[1:07] it on the map. Ike takes off almost the
[1:10] entire northern half of the Gulf of
[1:12] Mexico. And here's a fact that we've all
[1:14] been talking about here. The likely
[1:15] storm surge is being compared to
[1:18] Katrina's. If the water rises as high as
[1:21] forecasters are predicting, anyone in
[1:24] its path who can't get above 22 feet of
[1:27] fastmoving water will be washed away.
[1:29] Right now, our people are on the ground
[1:31] all through the path of the storm. We
[1:33] are going to have the latest from them
[1:34] as it is happening tonight. And we want
[1:36] to remind you if you have friends or
[1:38] family in the path of the storm,
