[0:00] good morning Bible Baptist Church family

[0:03] so good to see you this morning it's

[0:04] Thursday morning and ready for an

[0:07] exciting day as we start off our day

[0:09] with the word of encouragement I'd like

[0:12] to draw your attention to Matthew

[0:15] chapter number 4 and then begin reading

[0:17] in verse number 18 and read down to

[0:20] verse number 22 the Bible says this and

[0:22] Jesus walking by the Sea of Galilee saw

[0:26] two brethren Simon called Peter and

[0:28] Andrew his brother casting a net into

[0:30] the sea for they were fishers and he

[0:33] saith unto them follow me and I will

[0:36] make you fishers of men and they

[0:38] straightway left their nets and followed

[0:40] him going on for thence he saw other two

[0:44] brethren James the son of Zebedee and

[0:46] John his brother in the ship with

[0:48] Zebedee their father mending their nets

[0:51] and he called them and immediately they

[0:54] left their ship and their father and

[0:56] followed him

[0:58] now you're familiar with these verses

[1:01] we've heard them before but here I want

[1:04] to remind you about something God showed

[1:07] up Jesus in the flesh God showed up

[1:11] right were these men word that he was

[1:15] walking by the sea what a coincidence

[1:17] no my friend it wasn't coincidence God

[1:19] knew exactly where these men would be at

[1:22] this appointed time and he interrupted

[1:25] their day and as he came by he

[1:29] challenged them to follow him you'll

[1:32] notice that first it's Simon Peter and

[1:34] Andrew he comes to them and it shows us

[1:37] where they're at they're fishermen

[1:39] that's who they are they're mending

[1:41] their nets that's what they do they're

[1:43] in their nets they're actually these two

[1:45] guys it says they're casting a net into

[1:47] the sea because they're fishers Jesus

[1:51] calls unto them and he tells them to

[1:52] follow me and I will make you fishers of

[1:54] men

[1:55] since it's important to notice there

[1:58] that Jesus says to them follow me and I

[2:01] will make you fishers of men

[2:04] the important thing for Peter and for

[2:07] his brother Andrew to do was to follow

[2:09] Jesus and then God would do

[2:12] making in their life in other words if

[2:15] they submitted to following Christ he

[2:19] would help them to develop into the men

[2:22] that we know them to be later on I'm so

[2:25] thankful in my life that all I have to

[2:28] do is follow him and his leadership in

[2:32] my life

[2:33] and he helps me to become the man that I

[2:35] need to be and if I follow him and

[2:38] submit to the leadership in his life he

[2:40] helps me to become the husband that I

[2:41] need to be if I follow him and submit to

[2:45] the leadership in his in my life then

[2:47] I'll become the father that I need to be

[2:49] if I follow him and submit to the

[2:52] leadership in his life in my life then I

[2:54] will become the pastor that I need to be

[2:57] but it's all dependent on if I follow

[3:01] him and submit to his leadership in my

[3:04] life see today there's a lot of us who

[3:07] want the blessings of God we want to be

[3:10] the man we want to be the lady that God

[3:12] wants us to be we want to be the parent

[3:15] that God wants us to be we want to be

[3:16] the spouse that he wants us to be we

[3:18] want to fulfill our life's roles that he

[3:21] wants us to fulfill but we don't want to

[3:23] follow and submit to his leadership

[3:27] secular you'll notice in our text that

[3:29] he comes to James and John and he asked

[3:33] them to follow him and verse 22 it says

[3:36] and immediately left their ship and

[3:38] their father and followed him you know

[3:41] and following Jesus sometimes there's

[3:44] things you're gonna have to leave behind

[3:46] James and John they actually left their

[3:48] father in the ship their family member

[3:50] now it doesn't mean that they never got

[3:53] to see him again doesn't mean that he

[3:55] never fellowshipped again they never had

[3:57] a meal with him again it doesn't mean

[3:59] that but it means is that they found

[4:02] that following Christ was more important

[4:05] than what the family business was

[4:07] following Christ is more important than

[4:10] the opinions of your other family

[4:13] members so in our text today and

[4:16] studying this out we should consider

[4:18] this am i following Christ and

[4:21] submitting to his leadership in my life

[4:23] so how about it today

[4:25] are you following Christ well most of

[4:28] you would say yes preacher I am

[4:30] following Christ second question are you

[4:34] submitting to his leadership today we

[4:37] need to submit to the leadership of God

[4:39] in every decision we make we need to

[4:42] submit to the leadership of God in every

[4:44] action that we take so it's important

[4:47] for you and I to know what he wants us

[4:51] to do well how do we know well some

[4:53] things only come by prayer and reading

[4:56] his word it's important to have both of

[5:00] those elements in your life now they had

[5:03] an advantage that we don't have they had

[5:04] Christ in the flesh right there next to

[5:07] them was gone in the flesh

[5:09] directing them telling them what to do

[5:12] you and I the Bible says that we need to

[5:15] study to show ourselves approved unto

[5:18] God a workman that needeth not to be

[5:20] ashamed rightly dividing the word of

[5:23] truth but the good news is is that we

[5:26] all have the ability to do what God

[5:30] wants us to do he wrote it in his word

[5:32] all we have to do is submit to him and

[5:36] his word in our lives so today let me

[5:39] challenge you to study the Word of God

[5:43] to follow Christ and submit to his

[5:48] leadership in those life now I read you

[5:50] a verse study to show thyself approved

[5:53] unto God a workman that needeth not to

[5:56] be ashamed rightly dividing the word of

[5:59] truth but where is it

[6:02] so today top-2 once again to leave in

[6:07] the comments or text pastor where that

[6:12] verse is in scripture study to show

[6:14] thyself approved unto God a workman that

[6:16] needeth not to be ashamed rightly

[6:18] dividing the word of truth first was to

[6:21] text me the reference will receive gift

[6:24] cards this week and so we look forward

[6:27] to passing those out to you and so find

[6:30] that verse let us know but today here's

[6:33] the word of encouragement if you follow

[6:35] Christ

[6:36] if you submit to the leader

[6:38] if in his life he will lead you down the

[6:40] path that you will never regret yes

[6:44] sometimes there's Hills sometimes

[6:46] there's rocks along the path but it's

[6:49] always blessed so you have a wonderful

[6:51] day and find that verse
