[0:04] Live, Kurt Ledllo, Shauna Parsons,
[0:08] meteorologist [music] Rod Hill, and Tim
[0:10] Becker, sports. This is the 10:00 news.

[0:17] >> Good evening. The snow didn't quite make
[0:19] it to the lower parts of Portland today,
[0:21] >> but it still made life a little
[0:22] difficult in some spots. KPTV's Monica
[0:24] Guza is up on Skyline Boulevard tonight
[0:26] to fill us in on today's snowy weather.
[0:28] Monica,
[0:28] >> well, it is certainly not as snowy and
[0:30] icy as it was up here last night. In
[0:32] fact, just a a little bit of slush here
[0:34] on the road, but there was still plenty
[0:35] of snow for people in outlying areas.
[0:42] Yesterday in the mountains, it verged on
[0:43] a white out.
[0:47] Driving in the West Hills here in
[0:48] Portland was downright treacherous. Even
[0:51] the police car and tow truck that came
[0:52] to help out became part of the problem.
[0:54] Today was quieter and warmer, but there
[0:56] still were school closures and delays in
[0:58] many areas because of overnight and
[1:00] early morning snow.
[1:01] >> Well, I teach school at Battleground and
[1:03] uh we had a 2-hour late start.
[1:05] >> This afternoon, the snow had receded to
[1:07] around the 600 ft level just north of
[1:09] Vancouver. The snow still blanketed the
[1:11] ground, but it was beginning to melt.
[1:13] People in the area are not surprised by
[1:15] the snowfall.
[1:19] >> It here today, gone tomorrow, but we get
[1:22] it. Check out these snow totals since
[1:24] this system swept in. Timberline Resort
[1:26] up on Mount Hood recorded over 5 feet
[1:29] since Saturday. In the lower elevations,
[1:31] Brightwood over in Clackamus County has
[1:33] had a foot of snow and Esticada 10 in
[1:36] since Monday morning.
