[0:00] Today we are talking journals and
[0:02] managing your life with pen and paper.
[0:04] Hi, I'm Lauren Valdez. I am Thiago's
[0:07] wife. I'm also the co-founder of Forte
[0:08] Labs. When I first started doing this
[0:11] productivity stuff with Thiago, I kept
[0:13] trying to copy Thiago's system and it
[0:15] kept failing. And it wasn't until I I
[0:17] learned like, oh, this doesn't work for
[0:19] me because it's not the way I work. I am
[0:21] not Thiago. And I started making systems
[0:23] in a way that worked for my brain and
[0:25] the way I process. That's when I could
[0:27] really customize systems that actually
[0:29] stuck and I could actually develop
[0:30] habits. And that's what I want to leave

[0:50] actually think about productivity in a
[0:53] way about being intentional. Doing
[0:55] things with pen and paper is how I slow
[0:57] down to be more intentional and reflect
[1:00] more on my life to make sure that I am
[1:03] not just doing things to do things, but
[1:05] that the things I'm doing are really
[1:07] aligned with who I am and the kind of
[1:09] life I want to live.
[1:14] I have two productivity principles I
[1:16] live by. The first one is what is simple
[1:19] is sustainable. I try to keep my systems
[1:22] as simple as possible so I don't burn
[1:25] out, so I don't lose things, so I'm not
[1:27] wasting time trying to figure out how to
[1:28] use a new digital t
