[15:24] then on Thursday we got a notification

[15:26] we had some online giving come in and so

[15:28] that told

[15:29] changed from Wednesday night to today

[15:33] and so the official total now is a

[15:35] little bit over

[15:37] $1900 came in for Bibles last week so

[15:40] let's give the Lord a hand clap of

[20:13] to see what God is doing in your church

[20:16] and to hear the Beautiful music this

[20:21] amen and then that really good good

[20:26] special uh song that reminds us it's all

[20:29] about the cross and it's all about the

[20:31] blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and

[20:34] that's why we're here Mission conference

[20:38] it's about taking that message to a lost

[20:40] and dying

[20:42] world uh getting a message of salvation

[20:45] out to every man woman boy and girl to

[20:49] let them know the Savior that we know

[20:52] and what a blessing that is take your

[20:54] Bibles there in your hand let's stand

[20:56] together if you're able and we're going

[20:58] to read beginning in verse number

[21:02] 12 Book of Matthew chapter number 4 and

[21:10] beginning in actually let's just drop

[21:14] 16 the people which sat in darkness saw

[21:17] great

[21:18] light and to them which sat in the

[21:22] region and shadow of death light is

[21:26] sprung up from that time Jesus began to

[21:31] preach and to say repent for the Kingdom

[21:34] of Heaven is at hand and Jesus walking

[21:38] by the Sea of Galilee saw two Brethren

[21:41] Simon called Peter and Andrew his

[21:43] brother casting a net into the sea for

[21:46] they were Fishers and he saith unto them

[21:50] follow me and I will make you Fishers of

[21:53] Men and they straightway left their Nets

[21:57] and followed him verse 22 he calls

[22:01] another to service and they immediately

[22:04] left the ship and their father and

[22:07] followed him now I want to speak to you

[22:10] this morning on the subject breaking

[22:13] through the darkness breaking through

[22:17] the darkness let's pray together and

[22:19] we'll look at the message God's laid on

[22:21] my heart today Father we come to you

[22:25] we're so grateful to be in your house

[22:26] today we're so thank thankful for the

[22:29] good music that we've heard for the

[22:32] spirit of Christ that we have felt and

[22:35] father for just the hope that we have

[22:38] through the cross and the blood that was

[22:40] shed for us and now father we pray that

[22:44] you'd meet with us as we uh look at this

[22:47] matter of missions and the Darkness of

[22:50] this world and how it is our job to go

[22:53] into the world preach the gospel to

[22:55] Every Creature would you help us today

[22:58] through your word and if there's even

[23:00] one in this place today that does not

[23:03] know thee as Savior oh God how we pray

[23:06] that this would be the day they'd come

[23:08] to know you as Savior they'd come to

[23:11] know uh you and the pardoning of their

[23:14] sin and the everlasting life that they

[23:17] would receive from you and I pray

[23:19] heavenly father that you'd move those of

[23:21] us who are saved to walk close to thee

[23:24] and to love what you love and that is

[23:27] that you died because you loved the

[23:30] world so father speak to our hearts

[23:32] today give anointing now for the

[23:34] preaching of the word may you be honored

[23:37] and glorified in all that is said and

[23:39] done and we'll ask it all in jesus' name

[23:47] background to our message this morning

[23:50] uh begins of course in the first chapter

[23:52] of the Book of Matthew which is a review

[23:56] of the genealogy of our savior uh the

[23:59] Lord Jesus Christ so it begins with the

[24:02] book of the generation of Jesus the son

[24:05] of David the son of Abraham but after a

[24:09] long kind of lengthy detailed genealogy

[24:12] there comes a grand announcement in

[24:16] chapter 1 and verse 18 about uh the Lord

[24:20] Jesus Christ when it says now the birth

[24:23] of Jesus Christ was on this wise when as

[24:26] his mother Mary was spouse to Joseph

[24:29] before they came together she was found

[24:32] with child of the Holy Ghost and and

[24:35] then we read then Joseph her husband he

[24:38] he was challenged by that Joseph her

[24:41] husband being being a just man and not

[24:43] willing to make her a public example was

[24:46] minded to put her away privy but while

[24:48] he thought on these things the Bible

[24:51] says behold an angel of the Lord

[24:54] appeared unto him in a dream and said

[24:56] Joseph thou son of David fear not to

[24:59] take unto thee Mary thy wife for that

[25:02] which is conceived in her is of the Holy

[25:05] Ghost and she shall bring forth a son

[25:08] and thou shalt call his name Jesus for

[25:11] he shall save his people from their sins

[25:17] and this morning that's what missions is

[25:19] all about amen it is that Jesus came

[25:23] that there might be life and there might

[25:26] be life more abundantly so after the

[25:29] birth the in chapter two we have the

[25:31] Adoration of Christ and in chapter three

[25:35] of course the baptism where we hear and

[25:38] lower voice from Heaven saying this is

[25:41] my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased

[25:44] and then we come to chapter four and uh

[25:47] it marks a p a pivotal and uh prophetic

[25:51] announcement uh uh about the Lord Jesus

[25:54] Christ and about him being the light

[25:56] that Springs up uh in the darkness and

[26:00] so uh we know that uh they understood

[26:03] not who Jesus was though they should

[26:07] have understood because the prophets had

[26:10] made clear that Messiah was coming in

[26:13] Isaiah chapter 7 verse1 14 the Bible

[26:15] says therefore the Lord himself shall

[26:19] give you a sign Behold a virgin shall

[26:22] conceive and bear a son and shall call

[26:24] his name Emmanuel they should have known

[26:28] where he would be born Micah 52 says but

[26:31] thou Bethlehem Afra though thou be

[26:34] little among the thousands of Judah yet

[26:36] out of the shall come forth unto me that

[26:40] is to be ruler in Israel whose goings

[26:43] forth have been from old from

[26:46] Everlasting Isaiah 9:2 says the people

[26:49] that walked in darkness have seen a

[26:51] great light they that dwell in the land

[26:54] of shadow of death upon them hath the

[26:56] light shine they should have known that

[27:00] Jesus was coming but the reality is that

[27:04] when we get to our text in chapter 4 and

[27:07] beginning there in verse number 16 we

[27:10] find first of all the condition of these

[27:13] people and they are in darkness and I

[27:17] want to say to you I I started preaching

[27:20] as a 17-year-old boy and so I've been at

[27:23] it a little while just turned 75 and I

[27:26] can tell you that this word world is in

[27:29] a great bit of Darkness today amen I I

[27:33] mean this world is in such darkness that

[27:37] the name of Christ is hardly named

[27:39] outside of a few faithful churches here

[27:42] and there scattered across this country

[27:45] I was doing some recent study uh looking

[27:48] at some polls and I noticed in one of

[27:50] the polls uh that in 1960 now I would

[27:53] have been a 10-year-old boy in 1960 63%

[27:58] % of all professing believers uh

[28:02] attended regularly on Sunday

[28:06] 63% by 2020 when covid hit that figure

[28:10] went down to

[28:11] 24% uh two years later you would have

[28:14] thought we would have had a big rebound

[28:17] but instead it went down to 22% in 2022

[28:22] and I just got the figure for 2024 and

[28:25] that number dropped even more down to 20

[28:28] % so only 20% of those who profess to be

[28:32] Christians attend regularly in the house

[28:35] of God I'm telling you America has been

[28:38] puffed up to believe she's something

[28:40] she's not and our country uh has

[28:42] followed after the gods of this world

[28:45] and there is an amazing amazing amount

[28:49] of Darkness uh the Bible says uh of the

[28:53] Jews that he came unto his own and his

[28:56] own did what they re received him not uh

[28:59] he came to give them light but they

[29:02] refused that light and I want to say

[29:04] that light is still being refused today

[29:07] the Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter

[29:09] 4 uh but if our gospel be hid by the way

[29:13] did you notice that if our gospel be hid

[29:16] if your gospel and my gospel be hid it

[29:20] is hid to them that are lost in whom the

[29:24] God of this world hath

[29:26] blinded the Bible says blinded the minds

[29:30] of them which believe not lest the light

[29:33] of the Glorious gospel of Christ who is

[29:36] the image of God should shine unto them

[29:40] that word blinded is an amazing word it

[29:43] means there's total darkness they are

[29:46] not seeing anything they are not able to

[29:48] see the light because we are not getting

[29:51] the light out it's been hid to those who

[29:54] are lost it says it's hid unable to be

[29:58] seen There Is Blindness in this world

[30:01] there is darkness in this world and I

[30:03] want to say to you it's sad to say but

[30:07] as I've watched over the years that

[30:09] Darkness has not only been prominent in

[30:12] the world but it's kind of prominent in

[30:14] a lot of churches in America today the

[30:17] light of the Gospel is not shining like

[30:20] it ought to shine thank God for an

[30:22] independent Baptist Church who meets

[30:25] today to emphasize missions to emphasize

[30:29] what Jesus said and that is that we are

[30:32] to go into all the world and preach the

[30:35] gospel to Every Creature amen now let me

[30:38] say this about preaching the gospel I

[30:41] believe first of all our preaching uh to

[30:43] these who are in darkness must be

[30:46] exclusive what do I mean by that I mean

[30:49] there is no other message but the gospel

[30:52] of the Lord Jesus Christ uh it is the

[30:55] good news amen but the Bible defines

[30:59] what that good news is when it tells us

[31:01] in 1 Corinthians 15 it is the

[31:04] death it is the burial it is the

[31:08] resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

[31:10] now I'm stop right here and and get

[31:13] something off my chest I am so wearied

[31:16] up with all of this easy believism stuff

[31:19] that's being pushed around America today

[31:21] where we slap somebody against the wall

[31:24] get them to pray a quick prayer and

[31:26] think they're saved and I want to say to

[31:28] you I think the reason our churches are

[31:30] weak and the world is so dark is because

[31:33] we have few real Redemptive stories to

[31:36] talk about that we're not really seeing

[31:38] people deeply born again in our churches

[31:41] and why because the Bible says this in

[31:44] Romans 10:9 And1 that if Thou shalt

[31:47] confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus

[31:50] and shalt believe in thine heart that

[31:53] God hath raised him from the dead Thou

[31:56] shalt be saved

[31:58] and and listen we all see people

[32:01] skipping to verse 13 for whosoever shall

[32:04] call upon the name of the Lord shall be

[32:07] saved I want to tell you you can call on

[32:09] the name of the Lord every 15 minutes if

[32:11] you do not believe that he died on the

[32:14] cross and that he was buried in a tomb

[32:16] and came up out of that tomb and

[32:18] resurrected by the power of God you will

[32:21] not be saved amen you must believe the

[32:25] gospel and so the gospel is our message

[32:29] today and that's why we meet here uh

[32:32] because this church cannot give out the

[32:34] gospel to the whole world without

[32:37] missionary Endeavor amen and let me say

[32:41] this I don't have time to say

[32:43] everything's on my heart this morning

[32:45] but let me get this off my chest as well

[32:47] some of us are here and we'll listen all

[32:50] week and we may even up the monies a

[32:53] little bit on our uh Faith promise

[32:55] missionary commitment but I want I want

[32:57] to tell you that will not eliminate your

[33:01] individual responsibility to win people

[33:04] to Jesus Christ amen it will not

[33:06] eliminate your responsibility to go into

[33:09] the world and deliver the gospel to

[33:12] every man and woman and boy and girl so

[33:15] they uh were in darkness but I I see

[33:19] another uh reason for this Darkness now

[33:22] let me just give you some thoughts about

[33:25] why I believe the world is in such dark

[33:27] dark nness would you go with me uh to

[33:29] the book of Ephesians please the book of

[33:32] Ephesians chapter number

[33:35] six Ephesians chapter number

[33:42] six I'm headed there my pages are all

[33:46] sticking together look with me down in

[33:50] in verse number 10 Ephesians chapter 6

[33:53] and verse 10 finally my brethren be

[33:55] strong in the Lord and in the power his

[33:58] might put on the whole armor of God that

[34:02] you may be able to stand against the Ws

[34:04] of the devil for we wrestle not against

[34:07] flesh and blood but against

[34:09] principalities against Powers against

[34:12] the rulers of the darkness of this world

[34:15] against spiritual wickedness in high

[34:17] places wherefore take unto you the whole

[34:20] armor of God that you may be able to

[34:22] withstand in the evil day and having

[34:25] done all to stand stand there therefore

[34:28] having your loins G about with truth and

[34:30] he goes on and tells about all the armor

[34:34] that we need uh to have on I say to you

[34:37] that the world is in darkness because of

[34:40] the satanic influence of our day and I I

[34:43] want to tell you man it amazes me that

[34:46] you can go into our capital buildings

[34:48] around the United States and find that

[34:51] not only are there uh uh things there

[34:55] that describe uh Christianity

[34:58] but there now are satanic pictures and S

[35:01] satanic emblems allowed in our places of

[35:05] government and I want to say to you

[35:07] today there's a lot of satanic influence

[35:09] this world is pressed down by the

[35:12] darkness of the devil I believe he knows

[35:14] he has but a little time and he's doing

[35:17] all that he can to damn and destroy this

[35:20] world and I say to you we've got to give

[35:23] them the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ

[35:26] satanic influence fluence has held back

[35:29] and kept us in Darkness I Believe

[35:31] limited servants has kept us back the

[35:34] Bible says the Harvest field it's a

[35:37] plenteous thing but the laborers are few

[35:41] and therefore we're to pray the Lord of

[35:43] the Harvest that he would send forth

[35:45] labors in this Darkness listen we need

[35:48] some young people to surrender their

[35:50] lives to missions I I don't know if you

[35:52] know this or not but we are having more

[35:55] missionaries come off of the field than

[35:57] we are replacing on the field we're

[36:00] losing our Manpower and we need more

[36:03] manpower to get out the gospel we need

[36:06] in our neighborhood Amen to talk to

[36:09] people about Jesus Christ we need

[36:11] everywhere we go and to everyone we meet

[36:14] to speak the words of the Gospel you say

[36:17] preacher do you do what you preach I I

[36:19] was in uh in Kentucky recently my wife

[36:23] uh we had her sister 88y old sister

[36:27] supposedly for five days turned into

[36:30] five weeks because of a a building

[36:33] problem in her house and and so we took

[36:36] her back to Kentucky I got 15 miles from

[36:40] her home and I hear a horrible noise in

[36:43] my car and I get a sign that says

[36:47] transmission trouble so I realized I'd

[36:51] lost the transmission and so I I made a

[36:54] phone call and and uh talked to Triple

[36:58] thank God I had AAA since 1997 I'm a

[37:01] loyal

[37:03] member but I I had not only had AAA but

[37:07] I had AAA premium 200 miles of free

[37:10] Towing eat your heart

[37:13] out so I called and I said listen I need

[37:16] you to tow my car back to

[37:18] Indiana he said well it may cost you

[41:02] figure out how they can get to heaven

[41:08] get to heaven only Jesus can take us to

[42:17] he wants to save them I say the world's

[42:19] dark because of satanic influence and

[42:22] limited services and resources that are

[42:26] limited listen I'm telling you we must

[42:33] literature but I want to tell you around

[42:36] the world I've traveled in 23 countries

[42:38] and guys tell me we can never get enough

[42:42] material to get it out to our to our

[42:45] people let me tell you we have limited

[42:49] going to ask you to fill out a card

[42:54] a commitment not so that they can come

[43:54] do I see darkness in verse 16

[43:57] but the Bible also says and to them

[44:00] which sat in the region and shadow of

[44:13] delay a delay people have become used to

[44:19] the darkness it has become accommodating

[45:01] Young Generation come up 14% of the

[45:05] youngest generation say they have

[45:07] determined by the age of 11 or 12 to

[45:11] become atheist do you realize that those

[45:14] who are on Tick Tock and all of these

[45:16] media sources most of them have become

[45:19] very humanistic and have totally

[45:22] rejected and part of that is because our

[45:25] churches are as dead is a door knob and

[45:28] there is no there's no joy in our

[45:30] churches and there's no preaching in our

[45:33] churches and our people say amen in here

[45:36] and then join the world when they go out

[45:40] there and the world just

[45:42] sits in

[45:45] delay and then I see a third

[45:48] word in our

[45:51] text the third word is found also in

[45:54] verse 16

[45:57] they sat they sat down in the

[46:01] region and

[46:03] shadow of

[46:05] death can I say to you this

[46:09] morning that those who do not know Jesus

[46:14] Christ would not be just cataloged

[46:17] as

[46:20] unchristian or nonreligious

[46:23] but according to the word of God they

[46:26] are l lost in their

[46:28] sins and they face the reality of

[46:35] Bibles and go to John chapter 3

[47:51] because he hath not believed in the name

[47:53] of the only begotten Son of God my

[47:56] friends it is an eternal matter of death

[47:59] and look back in our uh passage there in

[48:01] the Book of John chapter 3 would you go

[48:04] back there again and and go down to

[48:06] verse number 16 for God so loved the

[48:09] world that he gave his only begotten son

[48:12] that whosoever believeth in him should

[48:14] not perish but have everlasting life for

[48:18] God sent not his son into the world to

[48:21] condemn the world but that the world

[48:22] through him might be what church saved

[48:26] he that believeth on him is not

[48:28] condemned but he that believeth not is

[48:30] condemned already verse 19 and this is

[48:33] the condemnation that light is come into

[48:36] the world and Men loved Darkness rather

[48:40] than light because their deeds were evil

[48:43] here is what will cause you to end up in

[48:46] an eternity without Christ in a place

[48:49] called the Lake of Fire where there'll

[48:51] be weeping and wailing and nashing of

[48:53] teeth throughout all eternity hear me

[48:58] world and they shall call his name Jesus

[49:34] a matter of knowing

[49:36] Christ as Savior listen there's a lot of

[49:41] Darkness

[49:43] today and the world seems to be very

[49:46] comfortable in that

[49:49] darkness and death is the result of that

[49:54] Darkness and Light is sprung up Jesus is

[49:58] the light of the

[50:00] world but I say to you today we must

[50:03] take that light to a lost world we must

[50:08] show them how to know Jesus Christ as

[50:12] Savior amen we must do that listen to me

[50:20] ask you today to determine in your heart

[50:24] that in addition to giving financially

[50:26] the that others may go that you too will

[50:30] become concerned about every man and

[50:33] woman and boy and girl that needs a

[50:35] savior and you will do what you can I

[50:37] pray at the invitation today that some

[50:40] will come to this Altar and say God I

[50:43] know there's Darkness I know that people

[50:46] have settled into that darkness and

[50:48] death is what is coming and by God's

[50:51] grace I'm going to determine in my heart

[50:54] that I'll do what I can to bring the god

[50:56] gospel to a lost and Dying World now I

[66:57] Oklahoma so you you pray for him this

[67:00] week pray for his wife and just we want

[67:03] to encourage you to be a blessing to him

[67:04] through the love offering tonight Monday

[67:06] night Tuesday night and Wednesday night

[67:09] and thank you church for being sensitive

[67:11] to the change offering last week praise

[67:13] the Lord for

[67:14] $1900 raised for Bibles that's an

[67:17] exciting thing but God's not through yet

[67:21] he's still at work and so I want

[67:23] encourage you to pray for that also we

[67:25] um if you saw it coming in today we had

[67:28] some wind damage that happened to our

[67:30] roof uh we've got a couple different

[67:32] companies giving us bids on fixing that

[67:35] and so we'll keep you informed as we

[67:36] find out the price on that but you'll be

[67:38] in prayer for that uh the Bible tells us

[67:41] in James chapter 1 verse 5 If any man

[67:42] lack wisdom let him ask of God so we

[67:45] want to encourage you to pray for wisdom

[67:47] on what company to use to fix the church

[67:49] roof amen and so that's what we're

[67:50] asking God to do so you help us pray for

[67:52] that and we're thankful for that so
