[18:42] as a youth pastor we were in a youth

[18:44] rally and we did a skit uh for the Youth

[18:46] rally we had some teenagers up on the

[18:48] platform talking then we had some

[18:51] different youth pastors come out dressed

[18:53] as

[18:54] hoodlums dressed as nice guys and

[18:59] the young people just quit talking they

[19:01] were mimicking having conversations and

[19:04] then behind them were the bad guys

[19:06] representing demonic forces and the good

[19:09] guys and we had a whole WrestleMania

[19:11] match on the platform it was great we

[19:14] picked up one guy we threw him into the

[19:15] choir loft I mean it was just

[19:19] fun not for him but for those that got

[19:21] to throw him it was

[19:24] fun but the reality

[19:27] was young people people couldn't see it

[19:30] that's what's

[19:32] happening every day in our

[19:34] life we are

[19:37] wrestling against spiritual

[19:39] wickedness and the forces of God are at

[19:42] work and the enemies of God are at work

[19:46] and so tonight we want to draw our

[19:48] attention to the word of God because

[19:50] truly the word of God is what we need to

[19:53] battle the forces that beat so let's

[19:56] begin in verse number 10

[20:17] words in the Lord and in the power of

[20:24] might number one tonight in engaging in

[20:27] spiritual war

[20:29] we must be strong in the Lord and the

[20:34] power of His

[20:37] might how does that play out a little

[20:39] bit in our life we have to recognize

[20:42] that we are God

[20:44] dependent and not be

[20:48] self-reliant we have to recognize if we

[20:50] are going to succeed the way God wants

[20:52] us to succeed in this spiritual battle

[20:55] we must recognize we are God dependent

[20:59] and not

[21:00] self-reliant I don't have the strength

[21:03] to do spiritual battle on my

[21:07] own but I have the Lord and he's got the

[21:11] power and he's got the might and I'm to

[21:15] be strong in the Lord and the power of

[21:19] his mind so as a father of teenage boys

[21:24] there's weightlifting that happens at

[21:26] our house

[21:29] they

[21:31] exercise to build their

[21:35] strength you and I need to exercise with

[21:38] the

[21:39] Lord meaning we need to work on our

[21:41] relationship with him we need to

[21:44] exercise our relationship with God daily

[21:48] in our lives to help us to be strong in

[21:51] the Lord and the power of His might and

[21:55] so we have to recognize I have to get

[21:58] out out of the way I had to approach

[22:01] spiritual warfare in God's strength and

[22:05] not my

[22:07] strength and we'll talk about it more

[22:09] when we get toward the end of the

[22:12] message but to engage in the battle that

[22:15] God wants us to GA engage in he said you

[22:17] and I must be strong in the Lord the

[22:21] power of His might number two tonight

[22:22] it's found in verse number

[22:24] 11 put on the whole

[22:29] Armor of

[22:31] God to properly fight spiritual warfare

[22:37] the way God intends for it to be

[22:39] fought all armor is

[22:45] needed you need all the armor all the

[22:51] time if you don't have all the armor all

[22:55] the time you are

[22:57] vulnerable to a

[22:59] attack you need the whole armor so he

[23:04] emphasizes for us put on the whole armor

[23:07] of

[23:08] God that so here's the purpose that you

[23:11] may be able to stand against the Ws of

[23:16] the

[23:17] devil it's not just putting it on and

[23:21] sitting there it's putting it on and

[23:26] stand so there you have to put it this

[23:29] way in the outline to stand against you

[23:33] activate to stand against you cannot

[23:37] stand idly by to advance and fight the

[23:40] fight that God intended for you to fight

[24:33] Powers against the rulers of Darkness of

[24:35] this world against spiritual wickedness

[24:47] wrestling all of us are engaged in

[24:51] spiritual

[24:53] warfare now you can just be getting beat

[24:56] up or you can get into fight but the

[25:00] Bible tells us we're wrestling not

[25:02] against flesh and blood but

[25:04] against spiritual wickedness against

[25:06] principalities against Powers against

[25:07] the rulers of Darkness of world against

[25:09] spiritual wickedness in high places we

[25:11] are all wrestling every person that's a

[25:13] child of God is involved in spiritual

[25:16] warfare so you need to armor up to be

[25:21] ready so let let's go down to verse

[25:24] 14 let's look at some of the armor

[25:27] tonight

[25:29] and really I'm just going to glaze over

[25:33] them because when we get to0 five that's

[25:37] where a bulk of the message is going to

[25:39] be verse 14 stand therefore having your

[25:42] loins G about with

[25:46] truth John's gospel writes to us that

[25:49] says that the Lord said Thy word is

[25:53] truth sanctifying through Thy word Thy

[25:56] word is truth truth is what holds it all

[25:59] together the armor falls off if the

[26:01] truth's not holding it all together and

[26:03] the truth of the word of God is what

[26:05] holds us together it is the truth that

[26:08] is there so our loins G are about with

[26:10] truth having on the breastplate of

[26:13] righteousness but it can't be your

[26:15] righteousness it's got to be his

[26:17] righteousness by the way it's God's

[26:19] armor not our armor it's God's armor

[26:22] that we put on it's his righteousness

[26:25] not our righteousness because our

[26:26] righteousness is as filthy rags

[26:29] we're put on his breastplate of

[26:30] righteousness and we're have our feet

[26:32] shot with the preparation of the gospel

[26:34] of peace and so that comes from the Lord

[26:37] and verse 16 he above all taking the

[26:41] shield of Faith wherewith you shall be

[26:43] able to quench how many of the darts all

[26:47] the fiery

[26:48] darts The Shield of faith faith comes by

[26:52] hearing and hearing by the word of God

[26:54] so you have the shield of faith and with

[26:56] the faith that you have in Christ and

[26:58] the Faith you have in the word you can

[26:59] quench all the

[27:04] darts take the helmet of

[27:07] salvation the sword of the

[27:10] spirit which is the word of God so the

[27:14] armor is needed number four you need all

[27:16] the armor and it's laid out for us in

[27:19] the

[27:20] text every piece of armor is essential

[27:23] to fighting spiritual warfare

[27:28] now many times we have people read this

[27:32] passage people talk about this

[27:34] passage they get to verse 17 and they

[27:37] say take the sword of the spirit which

[27:39] is the word of God that's our weapon it

[27:41] is but I want you to notice the

[27:43] punctuation doesn't end with a period

[27:44] there the thought continues

[27:47] praying there's two weapons in Christian

[27:50] Warfare there's the sword of the spirit

[27:52] which is the word of God and there's

[27:55] prayer those are the two weapons that

[27:57] God is designed to fight

[28:00] against spiritual warfare the darts are

[28:03] flying at us the shield of Faith

[28:05] protects us from that but the sword of

[28:07] the spirit which is the word of God In

[28:10] Prayer we're to pray always with all

[28:15] prayer and supplication in the spirit

[28:19] notice spirit all there is

[28:21] capitalized watching there to with all

[28:23] perseverance and supplication for All

[28:26] Saints then Paul even mentions in verse

[28:28] 19 as for me that utterance may be given

[28:42] boldly now knowing that we are in a

[28:46] spiritual battle would you agree that

[28:47] we're in a spiritual

[28:50] battle if we're in a spiritual battle

[28:53] and we need to armor

[28:56] up we have to armor

[28:58] up to pick up our

[29:03] weapon so Satan's

[29:06] attack wants to hinder

[29:09] you from picking up your weapon and

[29:13] using

[29:14] it Satan's

[29:17] attack to hinder us in our spiritual

[29:21] warfare is to get you before you can be

[29:26] weaponed or to have your weapons at your

[29:30] disposal so the the first element of

[29:33] that is the sword of the spirit is the

[29:35] word of God Satan doesn't care if you

[29:37] read your Bible just don't live

[29:41] it he doesn't care if you read it just

[29:45] don't do what it

[29:46] says because if you do what it says

[29:49] it'll change you it'll grow you and

[29:53] it'll affect his work

[29:58] the Bible talks about the

[30:00] church and Jesus said that Upon This

[30:04] Rock I will build my church speaking of

[30:06] himself that he's the Christ and then he

[30:08] said that the Gates of Hell shall not

[30:12] Prevail against

[30:14] it you ever seen Gates

[30:18] marching you ever seen Gates

[30:25] advancing what does that mean that means

[30:27] we to be attacking we're to be invading

[30:30] enemy

[30:32] territory the church is not going to be

[30:34] stopped when we invade enemy

[30:36] territory well how do we invade enemy

[30:39] territory we're pointing people to

[30:40] Christ so they can be saved and every

[30:42] time we do that we're invading enemy

[30:44] territory doesn't like that we are

[30:46] encouraging one another as Brethren to

[30:49] provoke one another to love and good

[30:51] works we're invading enemy territory CU

[30:57] vitalized and the church is weaponized

[30:59] against Satan he doesn't like it and it

[31:07] attack you have to armor up before you

[33:02] The Obedience of Christ but when our

[33:04] mind begins to

[33:05] wander hey young young men that are

[33:08] studying for the ministry you you've got

[33:10] to learn that I need to be fed from the

[33:14] word of God I don't need to always

[33:16] approach the passage looking for a

[33:19] message because if I always approach it

[33:21] looking for a message I'm looking to

[33:24] preach to others when the word of God

[33:26] needs to teach and me so you got to be

[33:29] intentional in your Bible time and your

[33:32] personal time alone with God because

[33:34] there's a lot of good stuff in there and

[33:35] if you've been preaching for any length

[33:36] of time you like man that'll

[33:39] preach but I need to be

[33:42] fed I don't need to go WR an outline so

[33:46] you got to be intentional in your study

[33:47] so even e even preachers can struggle

[33:50] because we get wandering thoughts of man

[33:51] that'll preach man look at that outline

[33:52] right there in the word of God man I

[33:54] think about then you start thinking

[33:55] about a message and you start next you

[34:04] run out of time Satan's continual

[34:30] a sudden I'm thinking things that out

[34:34] think right because you just throwing

[34:36] darts he just throwing darts so you got

[34:40] to have the shield of Faith to quench

[34:42] all the fiery darts of the

[34:46] wicked so he he he wants to distract you

[34:50] so you got to armor up if you're going

[34:51] to get into the word you have to armor

[34:54] up

[34:55] first so if you're going to get in the

[34:57] word you have to armor up before you get

[35:00] there so how do I armor up before I get

[35:03] into the word well I use the other

[35:04] weapon I use

[35:06] prayer and the hard part is I got to

[35:08] armor up before I

[35:11] pray because you know what happens

[35:13] sometimes when I go to pray I get

[35:15] wondering

[35:18] thoughts you ever tried to pray and all

[35:20] the next thing you know you're like I

[35:21] need to get eggs and I need to get

[35:24] biscuits I need to get toilet paper I

[35:26] need to get

[35:28] where'd that come from you're trying to

[35:30] pray and talk to God and now you're

[35:31] thinking about what you got to get the

[35:34] store or or you're you're you're praying

[35:37] trying to talk to God God Lord help us

[35:39] Lord and you're you're praying the next

[35:40] thing you know I wonder who won the game

[35:42] last

[35:47] wonder where'd that come

[35:50] from it's a fiery dark getting thrown at

[35:53] you you say well not me preacher I'm

[35:55] more spiritual than that well good for

[35:56] you praise the

[35:58] Lord but wandering thoughts can happen

[36:03] life worldly thoughts can happen in your

[36:06] prayer

[36:07] life you have to be intentional in your

[36:11] prayer

[36:12] time why because when you're armoring up

[36:16] in your prayer life and you're armoring

[36:18] up in the word of God Satan gets

[36:21] nervous and so he wants to

[36:25] distract he wants to

[36:28] bring

[36:30] dread he wants to bring

[36:33] difficulty evil forces want to hinder

[36:36] your prayer life evil forces want to

[36:39] harass your prayer life evil forces want

[36:42] to distract you in your prayer life evil

[36:45] forces want to discourage you in your

[36:47] prayer

[36:49] life so they'll try to get you off

[36:53] track because if you're going to armor

[36:56] up through your prayer life it's going

[36:59] to have an

[37:02] effect one of the things we must

[37:06] remember when it comes to our prayer

[37:08] life is don't pray off your head pray

[37:13] from your

[37:15] heart it's easy to pray because we're

[37:19] religious just pray off the top of head

[37:21] I know I need to pray so I just pray and

[37:23] I and I just automatically pray off the

[37:26] top of my head the things that are on

[37:29] my but pray from your

[37:32] heart the Bible tells us to keep our

[37:35] heart with all diligence for out of it

[37:43] heart so if you're going to pray from

[37:46] your heart that's your will your

[37:48] emotions your thoughts if you've been in

[37:50] adult Sunday school class you know that

[37:52] represents your soul you're going to

[37:54] pray from your soul you're going to Bear

[37:56] your soul out to God and you're going to

[37:59] do that you've got to let the word of

[38:01] God speak truth and the spirit of God

[38:03] speak truth to your life so that you can

[38:05] pour it out from your heart

[38:09] amen but while you're trying to pray

[38:11] wandering thoughts worldly

[38:15] thoughts there's a difference from

[38:17] praying and just saying

[38:20] prayers there's a

[38:22] difference there's a difference from

[38:24] actual praying and then just saying

[38:28] prayers now what could happen if you

[38:32] developed a spiritual prayer life not

[38:35] just a regular prayer life but a

[38:39] spiritual prayer life what could happen

[38:42] well one it'll annihilate the distance

[38:45] you feel from

[38:47] God if you're going to truly get a

[38:50] spiritual prayer life where you are

[38:52] praying from your heart to the Lord you

[38:54] are armored up and beginning to fight

[38:57] the the fight of the Christian Life and

[38:59] know that there are forces against you

[39:02] uh you're going to feel distant from God

[39:04] at times but if you've got a consistent

[39:06] spiritual prayer life it'll annihilate

[39:08] the distance you feel from

[39:09] God it'll also annihilate

[39:14] dread a lot of times in the Christian

[39:16] Life it gets heavy gets

[39:19] hard but you're going to go spiritually

[39:22] praying the way God intended for us to

[39:25] pray it'll help annihilate

[39:29] dread and instead of getting

[39:32] overwhelmed by the heaviness and the

[39:36] things of

[39:38] life I recognize I can go to

[39:41] God I can pour my heart out to him and

[39:45] he hears my

[39:48] prayer but if you've ever tried to be

[39:50] intentional in your prayer life you come

[39:53] up against

[39:55] resistance why

[39:57] because the devil fights the hardest

[40:00] when he fears the most and one of the

[40:04] things he's most fearful of is a Praying

[40:07] Christian who attends a Praying Church

[40:11] who understands that God is at work he

[40:14] doesn't like

[40:16] it so in our lives we have to pray so it

[40:20] says to keep our

[40:22] heart because out of it are the issues

[40:24] life it'll help annihilate difficulty

[40:28] you say well isn't life still hard it is

[40:31] but you recognize

[40:33] it's difficult yes but I've got

[40:37] God and if I've got

[40:40] God nothing is

[40:43] impossible with God now I mentioned it

[40:46] Sunday here's here's something to

[40:48] remember he can be the lifter of your

[40:52] burden or he can help you to Bear your

[40:56] burden me he can come alongside and help

[40:59] or he can take it

[41:01] off he can do either

[41:04] one and he's still wonderful and he's

[41:07] still God and he's still great if he

[41:10] lifts it off or if he just helps me

[41:12] through it you know what happens most of

[41:14] the time we just just grab that burden

[41:16] ourselves and say I got

[41:19] it it's my burden to

[41:22] bear it may be your burden to bear but

[41:24] you're not to Bear it alone

[41:28] God wants to help you and strengthen you

[41:30] and get you through

[41:32] that so it it annihilates difficulty but

[41:35] evil forces they will hinder your prayer

[41:38] life you want to you want to understand

[41:41] how dangerous spiritual warfare is if

[41:45] you're a parent try to pray for your

[41:46] kids

[41:48] consistently the enemy won't like

[41:52] that the enemy is after your

[41:56] kids after after your teenagers after

[41:58] your young adults and you ought to

[42:01] pray

[42:03] consistently for

[42:05] them don't just pray off the top of your

[42:07] head pray from your heart what does your

[42:10] heart desire for your young person

[42:14] what's your heart want for

[42:16] them told them young married couples

[42:18] when we met with them just a few weeks

[42:20] ago one of the great things that couples

[42:22] can do married couples can do married

[42:25] couples can do let me emphasize the

[42:27] married couple part in case people get

[42:31] confused married couple is before you go

[42:33] to bed at night to grab on to your

[42:36] spouse and pray with one

[42:40] another it'd be a good thing to do sir I

[42:44] I if you'll let

[42:46] her pray some of the

[42:48] time you'll find out what's really on

[42:51] your wife's

[42:54] heart so listen

[42:57] pay

[42:58] attention you'll find out what's heavy

[43:02] you'll find out what's overwhelming

[43:05] you'll find out what's pressing on

[43:08] her so listen when she

[43:12] prays but this enemy's attack the

[43:16] Warfare that we face he wants to keep

[43:18] you off your

[43:21] knees he doesn't like it when Christians

[43:25] have a consistent prayer

[43:28] life how many people are wrestling

[43:30] against spiritual

[43:32] wickedness we all

[43:34] are you say well preacher I I'm not

[43:37] getting attacked very

[43:39] much you might want to evaluate why that

[43:46] is you might want to evaluate why he's

[43:49] not after

[43:51] you it may be because you're not

[43:54] invading his territory

[43:57] could

[43:58] be you might want to evaluate that then

[44:02] some you're like well preacher I'm

[44:03] getting attacked all the time

[44:06] welcome to spiritual

[44:11] warfare if if you're going to

[44:14] pray through spiritual warfare if you're

[44:16] going to pray the way God intended for

[44:18] you to

[44:19] pray you have to armor

[44:23] up because you got to recognize prayer

[44:26] is a Battlefield

[44:28] and I need to be armored

[44:30] up so if I'm going to go in to pray I'm

[44:34] going to have the belt of Truth

[44:36] on means my mind's got to be thinking

[44:39] about the word of God before I kneel to

[44:42] pray I've got to be doing that but it

[44:45] also it couples together I need to pray

[44:47] before I get into the word of

[44:50] God I would

[44:52] recommend praying before you read and

[44:56] then after you read Pray

[44:59] Again praying before you read and then

[45:02] after you read pray

[45:04] again because it kind of helps you to

[45:06] focus a little bit after you've been in

[45:09] the word and had some time alone with

[45:11] God your thoughts all of a sudden

[45:13] recognize I I'm doing serious work here

[45:18] praying for your kids is serious work

[45:21] praying for your church is serious work

[45:23] praying for missionaries is serious work

[45:26] it's not to be approached

[45:28] lightly it's a

[45:30] Battleground the enemy is after

[45:34] you so we're to

[45:37] pray

[45:38] always with all

[45:41] prayer

[45:43] supplication with Thanksgiving or in

[45:46] supplication in the

[45:49] spirit in the spirit capital s that

[45:53] means every prayer that I ought to pray

[45:55] that I want to pray needs to be

[45:58] spirit-led spirit filled and spirit

[46:02] empowered walk in the spirit and you

[46:04] shall not fulfill the lust thereof every

[46:06] prayer that I pray needs to be

[46:09] spirit-led spirit filled Spirit

[46:12] empowered if it's going to be spiritual

[46:15] prayers it needs that it's got to be

[46:17] spirit-led because if I'm just going to

[46:19] do it in

[46:22] myself it's not going to have the effect

[46:26] that God wants it to to

[46:31] have years ago I was in Bible College we

[46:34] went to was in a class and we had to

[46:37] travel on Fridays to different churches

[46:39] and pastors would speak different

[46:41] sessions and I was at a session with

[46:43] brother Wayne Hardy and he showed us a

[46:46] film a a a military recruiting film from

[46:49] the World War II era um and it was about

[46:52] a group of soldiers that didn't take

[46:55] everything seriously it's called the

[46:57] late great company B

[47:00] and it they had different things they

[47:02] didn't take

[47:04] seriously and they ended up all dying on

[47:06] the

[47:07] battlefield not because

[47:10] of the enemy was Stronger but because of

[47:14] mistakes that they made because they

[47:16] didn't take it

[47:18] seriously one man he wouldn't his his

[47:22] boots he had broken them in they were

[47:24] comfortable he needed a new pair of

[47:26] boots cuz he'd wore through the bottom

[47:28] of them but he didn't he didn't want to

[47:30] break in a new pair cuz these were

[47:32] comfortable so he didn't do

[47:35] it and he stepped on a sharp stick in

[47:39] the jungle and got infection in his

[47:44] foot the

[47:46] infection while he's in the jungle

[47:49] another group of soldiers they wouldn't

[47:52] eat the regular food that the arm

[47:53] provided they were always going to the

[47:55] mess hall and going to this the the the

[47:57] the snack shop and buying junk food and

[48:00] the truck broke down on the side of the

[48:02] road they needed to get the ammunition

[48:04] up to the other guys who were under

[48:05] attack and they grabbed it out of the

[48:07] truck and tried to carry it up the hill

[48:09] and didn't make it very far CU

[48:12] physically they weren't the way they

[48:14] were supposed to be they didn't maintain

[48:17] they're eating junk food all the

[48:20] time other one was in charge of the

[48:22] vehicles and he just ignored the

[48:24] maintenance and ignored the maintenance

[48:26] and ignored the maintenance and then the

[48:28] truck broke down In the Heat of the

[48:30] Moment when they needed it the most and

[48:33] caused problems another tried to make

[48:35] take shortcuts and shaved his trigger on

[48:37] his rifle to make it shoot faster he

[48:40] fell in the jungle and The Gunshot went

[48:42] off and the enemy surrounded him and the

[48:44] other soldiers and killed them all

[48:46] because of his not taking it

[48:51] seriously you're going to pray for your

[48:53] family you got to take it seriously

[48:56] you're going to pray for your church you

[48:57] going to pray for missionaries you going

[48:58] to pray for Laborers you got to take it

[49:00] seriously don't just pray off the top of

[49:02] your head pray from your heart and if

[49:04] your hearts not affected lamentation

[49:06] says mine eye affectthe what you see

[49:10] ought to affect your

[49:13] heart when we saw Rockets flying into

[49:15] Israel it ought to affect your

[49:17] heart ought to motivate you to pray more

[49:21] the nation of

[49:23] Israel when you see those in North

[49:25] Carolina and South Carolina and Georgia

[49:28] and Tennessee and the devastation that

[49:30] is

[49:31] there received word today of a pastor

[49:34] who's church building is lost him and

[49:36] his wife live in an area there in North

[49:38] Carolina there's no roads that are all

[49:40] the roads are washed out and a Mudslide

[49:43] happened move their house 500 feet and

[49:47] in the process of moving the house his

[49:50] wife lost her

[49:53] life she's still in the house

[49:57] they can't get to them he had a he had a

[50:01] walkie-talkie that he didn't talk to

[50:03] someone else

[50:05] but today he's sitting at home with his

[50:09] deceased wife that's hard That's

[50:13] Heavy got pray there are other churches

[50:16] that are out there that I'm aware of

[50:18] that have lost their their Church

[50:20] buildings and all of those things and

[50:22] it's a sad thing but those are people

[50:26] we ought to pray for them ought to have

[50:29] compassion Jude talks about some having

[50:32] compassion making a difference ought to

[50:35] pray for them your eye ought to affect

[50:36] your heart you look at the state of our

[50:38] country it ought to affect your heart

[50:40] when you come to

[50:42] praying it ought to affect your

[50:45] heart situations of your family the

[50:47] things of this world it ought to affect

[50:50] us in such a way that we recognize every

[50:53] time I go to prayer it's spiritual

[50:55] warfare

[50:57] the enemy is at work and every time a

[51:01] Christian opens up the word of God the

[51:03] enem is at work so you got to armor

[51:07] up just to

[51:09] pray just to read your Bible because we

[51:12] are

[51:13] wrestling we are wrestling

[51:16] against spiritual wickedness

[51:19] principalities against Powers against

[51:21] the rulers of Darkness of this

[51:24] world the armor of God is needed

[51:28] just to

[51:30] pray the armor of God is needed just to

[51:33] open up the word of God don't say all

[51:36] right I'm praying put the armor on now

[51:37] I'm going out you need the armor as soon

[51:39] as you get

[51:41] up just to get into the word of God you

[51:44] got to on purpose silence that phone you

[51:47] got to eliminate

[51:48] distractions so when you're struggling

[51:50] with wandering thoughts and worldly

[51:53] thoughts fight back

[51:56] some things you could do uh when it

[51:58] comes to your prayer life when you're

[52:00] struggling and the thoughts keep flying

[52:02] at you pray out

[52:06] loud instead of just trying to pray in

[52:08] your head pray out loud your brain has

[52:12] to do more work and when your brain

[52:14] engages in more work it helps you to

[52:17] focus your

[52:19] thoughts so pray out

[52:21] loud use

[52:24] scripture it makes the devil flee use

[52:28] scripture in your prayer life use

[52:31] scripture as you're

[52:33] praying recognize the source of the

[52:38] distractions recognize the source of

[52:40] your distractions if you're struggling

[52:42] getting up early to read your Bible and

[52:44] pray go to bed

[52:48] sooner say well I like my late hours

[52:50] yeah but you get defeated and you don't

[52:52] get up to read your Bible and spend time

[52:55] with God

[52:57] what's more

[52:59] important more entertainment at night or

[53:03] getting up and getting in the word and

[53:04] spending time in

[53:06] prayer what's more

[53:09] important recognize the source of

[53:11] distraction you say well I got all these

[53:13] things running through my

[53:15] mind remember God can help you to Ste

[53:19] your

[53:20] mind if he can calm the sea with

[53:24] overwhelming waves and winds he can

[53:26] still your mind to help you read your

[53:29] Bible and spend time in prayer with him

[53:32] if he can calm the

[53:34] storm physically in the world he can

[53:36] help Ste your

[53:38] mind and be able to focus on him and his

[53:41] word but it's spiritual battling that

[53:45] takes place

[53:48] tonight are you

[53:51] consistently going to battle on the

[53:55] battleground of pray

[53:57] prayer and the battleground of the

[54:00] word are you consistently going to

[54:03] battle you can't just show up you got to

[54:07] armor up and you got to go to

[54:10] battle could be wandering thoughts it

[54:12] could be worldly thoughts it could be

[54:14] distractions from Satan it could be

[54:17] you're trying to pray and all of a

[54:19] sudden the things from your past get

[54:21] thrown in your

[54:22] face he wants to discourage you and

[54:25] distract you say you're not such a good

[54:28] Christian you're a terrible person look

[54:30] what you've done and he wants to

[54:32] distract you from going to

[54:36] God so tonight we're engaged in

[54:40] spiritual warfare against the

[54:43] enemy if you're going to armor up in

[54:46] your prayer life and armor up in the

[54:47] word of God you have to do it

[54:52] intentionally you have to put forth the

[54:55] effort

[54:57] so we'll make a couple questions we'll

[55:00] have an

[55:01] invitation when was the last

[55:04] time Mom Dad you spiritually fought the

[55:10] devil in prayer for your

[55:14] kids when was the last time you

[55:18] spiritually fought the forces of Satan

[55:21] in praying for your

[55:39] the last time you spiritually fought for
