[0:11] following a big breaking news story out
[0:13] of Venezuela right now. We do understand
[0:15] that it's President Hugo Chavez has
[0:18] died. That word coming from the number
[0:19] two person in charge, Nicholas Maduro.
[0:21] >> This after a long battle with cancer. We
[0:24] have experienced him going back and
[0:25] forth to Cuba for treatment. We are
[0:27] joined now by Glenna Milberg and our
[0:29] senior political reporter Michael Putney
[0:31] just getting his microphone on for us
[0:33] because this is something we've been
[0:34] expecting for months, weeks, and now
[0:36] just in the last few days and hours. But
[0:38] Glenna, it's going to take the
[0:40] Venezuelan community by surprise. It
[0:42] well, let me just say that we've heard
[0:44] the death of Ugo Chavez on and off for
[0:47] about several weeks now. So, right now
[0:50] we're waiting for um some confirmation
[0:52] from several other sources, but this
[0:54] does seem to be the most confirmed
[0:56] report of his death that we've had so
[0:58] far. And just a few hours ago, Nicholas
[1:00] Maduro, the vice president, went in
[1:02] front of the cameras, addressed national
[1:04] and the international press, as he
[1:06] called it, to say that the uh condition
[1:09] had worsened and and detailed that, but
[1:12] never said he has died. So, if this is
[1:14] true, it's just been in the last four
[1:16] hours. Yeah. Yeah. And and this happened
[1:18] just minutes before our newscast, too.
