[0:00] liberal wing. As a candidate, Bush
[0:03] denied any litmus test for justices, but
[0:05] named two court conservatives, Scalia
[0:07] and Thomas, as his models. People who
[0:10] will strictly interpret the Constitution
[0:12] and will not use the bench to write
[0:13] social policy. If he does nominate
[0:16] someone like Scalia or Thomas, uh the
[0:18] opposition will be unprecedented in the
[0:20] history of this country. Yet, if Chief

[1:14] Roger Kasac will discuss the high court
[1:16] and the future. As you see live pictures
[1:19] of marching units moving down Third
[1:21] Street, getting into position for the
[1:23] start of the inaugural
[1:25] parade. President Bush is still on the
[1:27] hill. That's a wider picture. It's
[1:30] raining. It's cold here in Washington.
