[0:33] Emily heads for the East Coast, but this

[0:35] hurricane is not a monster yet.

[0:38] A breakthrough on peace in the Middle

[0:40] East, but still many obstacles.

[0:43] And killing for cars, carjacking in

[0:45] [music] America with a Chinese

[0:46] connection. This is NBC Nightly News

[0:52] Good evening to all of you on the

[0:54] Pacific Coast and it is nervous time

[0:56] tonight along the Mid-Atlantic coast,

[0:58] especially in the Carolinas as Hurricane

[1:00] Emily slowly makes her way in that

[1:02] direction, picking up strength as she

[1:04] goes. Much of the coast is under

[1:06] Hurricane watch tonight, upgraded to a

[1:08] warning in some areas, but still no

[1:10] signs that Emily will develop the

[1:12] destructive strength of Hurricane Andrew

[1:13] of a year ago, or Hugo, which did so

[1:16] much damage in the same area four years

[1:18] ago. But Emily is not to be taken

[1:21] lightly. NBC's Bob Dodson is in Atlantic

[1:23] Beach, North Carolina tonight.
