[0:00] Thank you for your questions. May God
[0:02] bless America.
[0:06] President Bush, live from the White
[0:07] House, concluding a news conference in
[0:09] which, among other things, he said he
[0:10] did not know whether Osama bin Laden was
[0:13] dead or alive. He called Osama, and I
[0:15] quote, "the evil one." He said the FBI
[0:19] alert issued late today was in response
[0:22] to a general threat that he had no
[0:24] specifics. He warned Iraq's Saddam
[0:27] Hussein that Saddam is being watched.
[0:30] And he said the war on terror would take
[0:32] a year or two, but that the United
[0:34] States would prevail.
[0:36] And then, at the end, with his closing
[0:38] statement, he asked every child in

[0:49] Now, for those of you in the Eastern and
[0:51] Central time zones, the premiere of
[0:53] Survivor: Africa
[0:55] is right up next.
[0:56] For those of you in the West, more news
[0:59] in just a moment.

[1:28] And this is a special West Coast
[1:30] edition. Good evening. As you just
[1:31] heard, President Bush told the American
[1:33] people tonight, and I quote, "We've
[1:34] accomplished a great deal in the 1 month
[1:37] after the attack on America." In his
[1:39] first primetime news conference, the
[1:40] president gave few specifics about the
[1:43] FBI's sudden warning late today of
[1:46] possible new terror attacks in the next
[1:48] few days, as the FBI alert put it.
[1:51] President Bush urged Americans not to
[1:53] live in fear because, he said, "That's
[1:55] what the te
