[0:06] protect us from terrorism I know that
[0:09] within Congress as we've seen in many
[0:11] parts of the world not only between
[0:12] countries but uh uh differences between
[0:15] public opinion and the political
[0:16] leadership there are divisions obviously
[0:19] about about this war now that it has
[0:22] begun within Congress how do you think
[0:24] that will affect the divisions that
[0:26] we've seen there well I mean all of us
[0:29] uh reflect uh respect what our troops
[0:31] are doing and want to support them and
[0:33] you can't support our troops if you
[0:35] don't support their mission so uh if
[0:37] people are disappointed that the uh
[0:40] diplomatic effort failed uh they can be
[0:42] disappointed but now uh we're in a
[0:44] battle I don't want to just call it a
[0:46] war because we have a war against
[0:47] terrorism that uh goes well beyond just
[0:50] Iraq one of the critical issues in this
[0:53] and it hasn't had a lot of attention so
[0:55] far perhaps because of the diplomacy and
[0:57] the politics involved in all of this and
[0:59] that's how much this war is going to
[1:02] cost um how much you're on the budget
[1:04] committee tell me what your concerns are
[1:07] about the cost of this war well I mean I
[1:09] I believe it will cost well over hundred
[1:11] billion dollar uh and which the American
[1:13] people are going to absorb I mean that's
[1:15] the reality we're not going to make the
[1:17] Iraqi people pay for Saddam uh we're
[1:20] going to have uh the Iraqi oil pay for
[1:23] the rebuilding of Iraq but we have a
[1:25] real vested interest in making sur
