[1:13] Top story tonight, a Friday plunge on
[1:16] Wall Street. Stocks tumbled all across
[1:18] the board. Investors rattled by
[1:20] troubling news from several corporate
[1:22] giants. Big layoffs at Motorola,
[1:24] potential layoffs at Dell Computer, and
[1:26] word that Lucent is being investigated
[1:28] for possible accounting fraud. On that,
[1:31] the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 99
[1:33] points, closing at 10,781,
[1:36] the fourth losing session in a row for
[1:38] the blue chips. That may sound bad, but
[1:40] the damage for the week was actually
[1:42] negligible, down less than 1% over those
[1:44] five trading sessions. The big loser for
[1:47] the week was the Nasdaq, which lost 91
[1:49] points today or more than 3 and a.5%
[1:52] ending just under 2471.
