[3:35] your hearts to the Lord and whatsoever

[3:38] you do in word or deed do all in the

[3:42] name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to

[3:49] pray father God we come to you this

[3:51] morning thanking you father for our

[3:53] Salvation thanking you for Jesus Christ

[3:56] dying on the cross father for our sins

[3:58] thanking you father for the love you

[4:00] shown us through putting him through

[4:02] what he did dear Lord and we thank you

[4:04] Father for everything you've done for us

[4:05] everything you've provided for us this

[4:07] week dear Lord father God as we come to

[4:13] father we ask father that you open our

[4:15] hearts and be receptive to your word

[4:16] father father God we invite you to meet

[4:20] presence of the Holy Spirit would

[21:42] 19 Bible tells us after this Jesus

[21:52] fulfilled saith I thirst now there was

[21:57] set a vessel for full of vinegar they

[22:00] filled a sponge with vinegar and put it

[22:02] upon hisp put it to his mouth when Jesus

[22:05] therefore had received the vinegar he

[22:07] said it is finished he bowed his head

[22:12] and gave up the ghost the Jews therefore

[22:15] because it was the preparation that the

[22:17] body should not remain upon the cross on

[22:20] the Sabbath day for that Sabbath day was

[22:23] an high day besought pilate that their

[22:26] legs might be broken that they might be

[23:41] may go forth Lord I pray that you'd

[23:43] speak to our hearts today challenge us

[23:52] seated John 19 Jesus has been working

[23:57] the work of

[23:59] giving his life for you and for

[24:02] me and as he's been through the process

[24:05] John picks up in verse

[24:08] 28 after verse 27 verse 27 then saith he

[24:12] to the disciples Behold thy mother and

[24:15] from that hour that disciple took her

[24:17] into his

[24:18] home John doesn't record for us what

[24:21] happened between verse 27 and verse

[24:24] number

[24:25] 28 the other gospel accounts do

[24:29] right after that verse 27 there's three

[24:32] hours of

[24:34] darkness and

[24:36] Silence from the cross three hours of

[24:40] darkness and

[24:43] Silence from 12: noon till 3: in the

[24:46] afternoon darkness and

[24:49] silence and then we get to verse

[24:53] 28 after this Jesus knowing that all

[24:57] things

[24:59] were now

[25:01] accomplished that the scripture might be

[25:03] fulfilled saith I

[25:07] thirst after all these things the word

[25:09] fulfilled there comes from the Greek

[25:11] word too which means

[25:13] consummated I want to show you some

[25:15] bring your attention to Psalm 22 and

[25:18] look at a few verses there so turn in

[25:20] your Bibles to Psalm 22 brother Josh if

[25:22] you could grab that stool for me this

[25:24] morning I'd appreciate that Psalm 22

[25:29] I want to draw your attention to a

[25:30] couple verses very

[25:33] quickly that we might consider

[25:36] him we might consider him thank you sir

[25:42] 22 want you to look at verse

[25:45] one my God my God why hast Thou forsaken

[25:51] me why art thou so far from helping me

[25:55] and from the words of my roaring that's

[25:57] been fulfilled by the time we get to

[25:59] verse

[26:01] 28 he is

[26:03] already he's already been separated from

[26:06] the

[26:07] Father the darkness comes over the land

[26:11] from 12: noon to 3: that's already been

[26:14] fulfilled Psalm 221 it's already been

[26:18] fulfilled look if you would down in

[26:20] verse number

[26:21] eight of Psalm

[26:25] 22 he trusted on the Lord that he would

[26:29] deliver him let him deliver him seeing

[26:31] he delighted in him verse seven right

[26:35] before that all they that see me laugh

[26:44] the Lord that he would deliver him let

[26:51] recorded for us that those around Jesus

[27:05] fulfilled verse number 18 of Psalm

[27:11] 22 they part my garments among them and

[27:15] cast lots upon my vesture the gospel

[27:18] accounts record for us that they gambled

[27:20] on the garments of Jesus right at his

[27:23] feet it's been

[27:24] fulfilled in fact every step of the

[27:29] way every prophecy about Jesus has been

[27:33] fulfilled has been fulfilled has been

[27:35] fulfilled has been fulfilled and he's

[27:38] been hanging on the cross now for three

[27:40] hours straight in the darkness as he

[27:43] became sin for us and it separated him

[27:48] for the first time from God the father

[27:51] when he became sin for us the whole time

[27:54] it was happening he was in complete

[27:59] his human side was pain

[28:03] Agony the god side knew exactly what was

[28:06] happening and we get to verse 27 in

[28:17] Jesus

[28:19] knowing that all things were now

[28:23] accomplished that the scripture might be

[28:26] fulfilled saith I I

[28:41] left that he had to

[28:43] do now there's other things that they

[28:46] had to do but there's only one left for

[28:50] him to do he cried I thirst leave your

[29:16] verse this Messianic Psalm they gave me

[29:21] they gave me vinegar to drink Matthew's

[32:09] Nan beginning of the Feast of Passover

[32:12] and so here there in our our our days

[32:14] work from Midnight to

[32:17] midnight the Jewish day goes from 6 p.m.

[32:20] Sunset to

[32:23] Sunset so in the Jewish Day this is a

[32:25] High Sabbath day this is not Friday

[32:28] before Saturday it's a high day it's a

[32:30] Sabbath day and in the feast weeks there

[32:33] would be multiple Sabbath days multiple

[32:37] holy dayses it's kind of like some of

[32:40] you just a few weeks ago got off on

[32:43] Thursday for July

[32:46] 4th you got off that day from work you

[32:48] didn't have to work now some like not me

[32:50] preacher I had to work it painful I had

[32:53] to go to work

[32:55] still but some got off on that day some

[32:57] even got added bonus their boss said you

[32:59] can even take Friday off too well Glory

[33:02] two days off in one week the feast week

[33:06] was a special time a High Sabbath The

[33:09] Bible records that for us it's a High

[33:11] Sabbath and so what the the St hedrin

[33:14] decides is we want them off the cross it

[33:16] was a shame Deuteronomy talks about it

[33:19] was a shame to have people's bones or

[33:23] hanging on the cross death to be done it

[33:25] was to be not to happen and so they they

[33:27] said they're not going to have dead

[33:29] bodies so they said let's go and break

[33:31] legs so they

[33:34] die the S hedan hated Jesus so much they

[33:36] said let's go break his leg so we can

[33:38] kill him faster because in a crucifixion

[33:42] they broke their legs they couldn't lift

[33:45] breath and they would affixiated and

[33:48] drowned dry drowning right there on the

[33:51] cross that's what their plan was but God

[33:54] had a different plan the soldiers came

[33:57] and they broke the legs of the first and

[33:59] of the other which was crucified with

[34:01] him but when they came to Jesus and saw

[34:05] that he was dead already they break not

[34:10] his

[34:11] legs but one of the soldiers with a

[34:14] spear

[34:16] pierced his side and forth with came out

[34:20] blood and

[34:22] water when you die the water and the

[34:24] blood they

[34:26] separate the heart the fluid around the

[34:29] heart separates from the blood they

[34:32] pierced his side his heart had already

[34:36] burst he was

[34:38] brokenhearted for

[34:40] you for me when he became

[34:43] sin so their

[34:47] request to break his legs was already n

[34:50] now here's the amazing

[34:52] thing it was prophesied that that would

[34:55] happen in Exodus 124 6 in numbers 19 in

[34:59] Psalm 34:20 all of those references talk

[35:02] about these

[35:05] things Jesus is in

[35:08] control even though he's dead on the

[35:11] cross he's still in control of what's

[35:13] happening around him because he's God

[35:17] and God is never dead and God never

[35:21] sleeps and God never

[35:24] Slumbers he's always in

[35:29] control so they take his

[35:33] body they

[35:36] record that is pierced side I want you

[35:38] to notice verse

[35:39] 35 and he that saw it bear record and

[35:44] his record is true and he knoweth that

[35:49] he saith true that ye might believe John

[35:54] the writer here says I was there that's

[35:59] Pearson paraphrase I was there I saw it

[36:06] first John he talks about the blood and

[36:08] the water but I want to draw your

[36:10] attention to this thought

[36:29] control now we would look at and say no

[36:31] the soldiers they did it no Jesus laid

[36:44] mirror this

[36:45] morning Jesus died for you and if it had

[36:49] only been you he'd have died for you

[36:52] because he loves you now you may be here

[36:55] this morning say preacher you don't know

[36:57] me I don't have to know you I do know

[37:00] Jesus loves you say preacher you don't

[37:04] understand how messed up my life is

[37:06] right now how much struggles in my life

[37:09] how much turmoils in my life and I know

[37:11] it's hard and I know it's difficult and

[37:14] I know you're struggling but listen to

[37:16] me there's a

[37:18] God who has it under

[37:21] control now there's been a li trespassed

[37:24] upon Christianity where people say God

[37:27] never ever gives you more than you can

[37:30] handle that's a

[37:32] lie God only gave you what you could

[37:34] handle you wouldn't need God God gives

[37:37] you more than you can handle so you

[37:39] depend upon

[37:41] him but listen when your life is falling

[37:45] apart God's got it under

[37:50] control nothing

[37:52] ever catches God by surprise

[37:58] but we get caught by unexpected things

[38:01] all the time how many of you I didn't

[38:04] see that

[38:05] coming I didn't see that coming but God

[38:09] did God knew what was ahead God knew the

[38:13] struggle you would have the problems you

[38:14] would face God

[38:16] knows and then our answer is well if he

[38:19] knows why didn't he tell

[38:21] me why didn't God clue me in ahead of

[38:25] time so that I could know how to prepare

[38:30] for this difficult

[38:31] situation the Bible says we walk by

[38:34] faith and not by sight and a faith that

[38:39] cannot be tested is a faith that cannot

[38:43] be

[38:45] trusted so we test our

[38:48] faith many times in our lives we

[38:52] forget he's got it under

[38:55] control you look at the world around

[38:57] around you and say it's a mess yes but

[38:59] God's got it under

[39:03] control I don't understand why the world

[39:05] is so wicked and the things are so bad

[39:08] but God's got it under

[39:10] control and it's not going to be who

[39:12] gets elected to the White House that

[39:14] fixes the nation will be

[39:16] God but you know what he wants us to do

[39:18] he wants us to be active in the

[39:21] process well listen today God had it

[39:24] under control on Mount Calvary and God

[39:27] God's got it under control in

[39:31] 2024 so if he's got it under

[39:34] control what should I do and what should

[39:38] you

[39:39] do if he knows and he's got this what

[39:44] should we

[39:45] do there's some practices that all of us

[39:48] need to participate in and recognizing

[39:51] God's got it under

[39:55] control we more clearly see in John

[39:59] 19

[41:13] eyes will be on circumstances and

[41:15] struggles and problems and all of the

[41:18] things around you but God clearly is

[41:24] handle the difficulties of life

[41:32] morning multiple times on the cross he

[41:37] communicated with the

[41:42] father for you and I to recognize God

[41:45] has got it under control we need to

[41:47] regularly communicate with the

[41:50] father you need to talk to God In Prayer

[41:53] if you haven't been able to attend our

[41:55] Wednesday night services we're in a

[41:56] series on prayer prayer and some

[41:57] powerful teaching and lessons on prayer

[41:59] that'll be a help to your

[42:01] life but I encourage you

[42:05] regularly talk to the

[42:09] father now I have children have

[42:14] teenagers you know what happens a

[42:17] lot they don't really love talking to

[42:19] Dad unless they need something from

[49:27] we think that God's just going to drop

[49:29] off the supplies and he leaves it up to

[49:31] me that's not the

[49:34] case God's got it under

[49:38] control so trust

[49:42] in I cannot do the Christian Life

[49:45] without God I can't be what I'm supposed

[49:48] to be I can't live the life I'm supposed

[49:50] to live without him I am dependent 100%

[49:53] upon God to do it you and I are

[49:55] dependent upon God to live the life that

[49:57] God wants us to live we need him we got

[50:00] multiple proof verses that say it is him

[50:03] that worketh in us to willing to do of

[50:04] his good pleasure it's him it's him it's

[50:07] him it's not me it's

[50:10] him so what happens when difficult times

[50:13] come what happens when it gets hard you

[51:24] what happens when a kid turns 12 no

[51:37] life no the same rule applies couldn't

[51:40] say no when you were two can't say no

[51:42] when you're 12 go clean your room no now

[53:52] control in the most difficult moment

[53:57] of Jesus Earthly life he was still in

[54:05] God now listen if he can do that in his

[54:10] most difficult moment do you think he

[54:12] could help you navigate your most

[54:15] difficult

[54:18] moment you think he could help you

[54:20] figure out how to have married life work

[54:26] how he could help you to raise Godly

[54:29] kids not just good kids but Godly

[54:33] kids do you think he could help you how

[54:36] to handle the situation at work and the

[54:38] work climate he

[54:53] nothing so why would we think

[54:57] that we need to add anything to when he
